I LOVE them both!!!!!! Ed is the Fullmetal Alchemist though ....but Al is sometimes smarter than Ed....hehehe

I like them both...XD Ed's hilarious, and Al's so sweet...but if I had to choose which one I would want to meet, I'd choose Al.

Ed is better

i can't decide on who is better... alphonse's character is more mature and understanding, he's got pleasant personality and is certainly a someone you will seek for when you have problems. ed on the other hand is noisier (oops, sorry all ed-fans ), livelier and he's definitely a someone who livens things up^^. he's also a responsible elder brother while al is a younger brother who is so loving to everyone (especially ed). both brothers are emotional, especially al. but isn't al's alchemy in the movie better than ed's in the series?

Ed, Al seems a little less hot to me. He's such a softy, and that's not much of what I'm looking for in a guy.

to me they both have qualities are i personally am looking for in a guy. i like them both equaliy. it is a sin to choose one or the other. so i choose both

He is only naive and gullible in the anime. In the manga he knows just as much about alchemy as Ed does and he is also a better fighter as stated by Ed and has never lost an argument at that. I hated the fact that Bones had shown Ed knocking Al into the water IT WOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPENED!!!

Needless to say I vote Alphonse. There is that one scene in Central when Al and Ed are attacked by Scar. Ed was about to give his life away and Al knocked some sense into literally. It just show how important Al is if he didn’t confront him there Ed would probably give up on living sometime in the future. And also you get a better understanding of how bad Al’s pain is then Ed’s. Like in that one part in the manga when Ling question why Al would want his body back, that flash back was a kick in the face. You see how badly Al is suffering inside, yet he is always so hopeful of the future, how can you not like Al?

I really cannot choose between the two brothers. Both Edward and Alphonse have very different personality traits. Alphonse is the patient mediatour who likes to believe the best of everyone. He has great patience, but can also be fairly naive at times. Edward has a tendency to be more volatile, stubborn, and less trusting of those around him. However, both brothers show strong emotional strength. They are both loyal and selfless to those they care about. Even though they share opposite personalities, they share a deep bond. They both share the same struggles and the same goal, and they need to continually rely upon one another.

My fave is Al because he is "more" kind and always having a second thought before doing something and don't forget more patient......not like Ed though but thats just me but I don't know about u guys

Al - he is more calm and more reasonable, then Edward. And more handsome, i think
Ed is just not surprising as "the mainest good guy". Doesn`t need circle, the youngest military dog-alchemist, blah-blah... (sorry, please, Ed`s fans)
In the movie:
Ed rules. He definitely grew up and became wiser. And Al turned to be annoying a little...

that's a really really hard question... because Edward is mean while Al cares for others feelings. Ed is um... short, while Al is tall. Ed is rude to many people while Al, polite all the time! but Ed is handsome~ (I dont mean that Al isn't, but...)

I actually like Al better...he's more level headed and thoughtful. I mean I like Ed and I certainly have nothing against him, but I just find Al a little easier to take haha. Ed can be a little exhausting.

Ugh, it's kind of hard to pick...they're both really lovable and have their own personalities, strengths, and weaknesses...I'm really tempted to pick Al because of his sweetness and love for kitties Buuuut...I'm biased cuz Ed is the main character, and he's just plain hot bada$$ XD

Edward isn't cruel to people, but he skips the small and gentle talks and gets down to business. He's not one to waste time sugarcoating something, no matter who he is talking to; and I like him for that, it gets people off their back ends and taking control. Rose was GRATEFUL for that. How often have people underestimated Ed, from all the comments about his size [while for humor, it can't be hilarious when its said so many times] to his abilities and heart? Likely, he's impatient and snappy because he's constantly having to prove himself to everyone. Plus, yes, he's a bit more tempermental and straightforward, and that's also his personality.

Ed's also older, and likely remembers more of his father. Al tends to be more passive toward the entire issue, whereas Ed has no problem revealing how bitter and angry he is at his father for what happened to his mother. As the elder sibling, he likely feels as if he has too, in addition to claiming responsibility for most bad things that occured in their lives.

Edward. He has the fiery personality and that's what makes him hot and very funny!

Oh, what a tough question! Why must we choose?!? I'll have to go with Ed. I'm sorry Al! I feel more attached to Ed for some reason. It's just that everything about him is awesome. But I think together, they make one of the best teams in anime!
