I feel so short. Haha. I'm 15.93 years old. (HAHA. One more week 'til my birthday. XD) And I stand at around... 5 feet. D:
This is why I can feel Ed's pain. HAHA. But unlike Ed, milk isn't my enemy. Haha. I wonder why I'm still short? Maybe because I'm always sleeping late. Haha! Or I just live in a big world. XD

Confused by the use of feet.. Put it in centimeters people! My own height is about 186 cm's, I think. So yeah, I'm pretty tall. Anyone think they could translate that to feet so I'll better understand just how tall I am compared to all the 5-feeters claiming the are so short? x)
Edward Cardinal Elric
Six foot (approximately 183 centimeters) even

...no one used centimeters for height. You're 6 feet, so that's 1 foot taller than me. Learn to use feet.

In any case, I'm 5 feet. Too short.

@Broken Chouchou - Yeah, as you know, in the U.S. we are still way behind on this and still using feet and inches for measuring the length, and I understand hearing one's hight in feet and inches rather than cm is rather confusing for members with the metric system.
So, I made the conversion chart and added on the first post of this thread some time ago. I'll repeat it here. Hope that might help. biggrin.gif

  • 213.4 cm = 7 ft
  • 210.8 cm = 6 ft 11 inches
  • 208.3 cm = 6 ft 10
  • 205.7 cm = 6 ft 9

  • 200.7 cm = 6 ft 7
  • 198.1 cm = 6 ft 6
  • 195.6 cm = 6 ft 5
  • 193.0 cm = 6 ft 4
  • 190.5 cm = 6 ft 3
  • 187.9 cm = 6 ft 2
  • 185.4 cm = 6 ft 1
  • 182.9 cm = 6 ft
  • 180.3 cm = 5 ft 11 inches
  • 177.8 cm = 5 ft 10
  • 175.3 cm = 5 ft 9
  • 172.7 cm = 5 ft 8
  • 170.2 cm = 5 ft 7
  • 167.6 cm = 5 ft 6
  • 165.1 cm = 5 ft 5

  • 127.0 cm = 4 ft 2
  • 124.5 cm = 4 ft 1
  • 121.9 cm = 4 ft
Red Shrimp
157.5cm....

Can't believe I'm almost the same height as Ed... -A-

Thanks for the list Tombow!
Broken Chouchou
@Tombow: Haha yes I am aware you still use feet to measeure whatever it is you need to measure, over there across the mighty atlantic ocean. Can't for the life of me figure out why though, it just feels more complicated and less accurate for some reason. Guess you'd feel the same way about the metric system, though?

Anyway, thanks for the list smile.gif

@Broken Chouchou - Of course I know you know. I had no doubt about that. tongue.gif And, yeah, really sorry that most of posters here are using feet and inches and not cm. The thing is, as you know, this board is based in U.S., and as such, naturally a large number of members here are born and raised in the U.S., and, as you know, to them using ft and inches is the NORMAL way of describing their heights, and they have been probably doing that for all their lives.. if someone asks their heights, then they answer by ft and inches ... that's the NORM in the U.S., and if someone answers by using cm, then that person would probably get people making weired faces, like, "huh? "... kind of way. laugh.gif So, when asked about their height here, it is NORMAL for them to post their height in ft and inches, and try telling them to post their heights in cm and they would probably go "huh?" laugh.gif laugh.gif
I personally like the metric system, as it is far more logical and precise and easier to convert between scales than using ft & inch & mile, or pt & oz & gallon, etc., IMO. (And, no, metrics are easy for me, and not confusing at all. ^^) But, that's just me with my scientific mind, and whatever the reasons we've never made the conversion to the metric measuring systems and our general public is still using our old measuring systems in our country, and as such, of course I can't enforce others on the board to post their heights in metrics. So.. I hope you can excuse us, and just go by using the provided chart. tongue.gif

Wow, there's no need to be sorry abot that. I know this site is based in the U.S, and, hence, of course I know most users will be using feet, inches, gallons, miles and whatnot when talking things like weight, height or volume. My comment was ment to be kinda 'lulz-feet-is-stupid-use-cm', in a not-so-serious kinda way, though I guess that can be hard to get through over the internet, especially if you're not an excessive user of smileys/emoticons.

And it's exactly the same where I live, only opposite, where feet and inches is something obscure that most people don't even know how to use. I mean, how do you even know the lenght of a foot? Is it, literally, the lenght of your own foot? Or is it, I don't know, four inches? And then how long is an inch?

I get that whatever you've been taught and raised to use is what will feel right for you. So I'm not going to complain. I just think that, as you said, the metric system is more logical and precise, and simply put, easier. But that's just beacause the reason I already mentioned; I'm used to it.

Haha, and yes, I will excuse you, (until the U.S learns to convert to metrics xP) and thanks again for the chart. It will be very helpful indeed tongue.gif And I hope you can excuse me for making so much trouble about all this.

^ @Broken Chouchou - No problem, and thank you for your understanding. ^^

And, to make this post a bit more interesting... here are a couple of OT pics of the world's smallest bodybuilder who is 2 ft 9 inches (about 113.82 cm) and possibly the world's tallest man who is 2.46 m tall (just shy of 8 ft 1 inch) both were pictured recently. biggrin.gif

Smallest bodybuilder
"Aditya "Romeo" Dev, the world's smallest bodybuilder, joined British Olympic 2012 weightlifting hopefuls Zoe Smith (left) and Jo Calvino for the launch of two weeks of Olympic fun at Ripley's Believe It or Not! attraction in Piccadilly Circus, London. The bodybuilding star from India weighs about 19 pounds and is 2 feet, 9 inches tall. Part of the proceeds from the event were donated to SportsAid, the charity that promotes amateur athletes in the U.K. (Geoff Caddick/PA Wire/AP Photo)"

Tallest man
"Zhao Liang, a contender for the world's tallest man, visits Tianjin hospital for surgery to relieve pain from a muscle tendon injury on his left foot sustained nearly a decade ago on April 13, 2009 in Tianjin, China. Liang is 2.46m tall, 10cm taller than Bao Xishun, now recognized by the Guinness World Records as the world's tallest man and 17cm taller than China's NBA basketball star Yao Ming. Zhao's height has not been independently verified by the Guinness judges, but doctors at Tianjin Anjie Hospital measured his height as part of a medical checkup.(ChinaFotoPress/Getty Images)"
