While I cannot see any character in FMA being canonically homosexual (except for Garfiel of course... and maybe little brother Armstrong... AND Martel. Yeah, big dyke there. HAWTNESS.) a lot of crack pairings done just for teh lulz can be incredibly amusing...



Also, while I am mostly a fan of Yuri!Crack, I must say that recent Roy/Hughes fic I've been pointed to has been relatively well done. Seems like the fans of this pairing are certainly dedicated enough to do their homework and make it believable, unlike the 16-year-old girls in the RoyxEd fandom that just seem to spout fic because it's ZOMGHAWT.

Roy/Hughes is significantly more enjoyable as a pairing if it is set pre-Gracia (since I can't imagne Hughes ever cheating on his wife with ANYONE, be it male or female.)

We might have discussed this in another thread, but I did read a very lovely genfic (almost pairing-like; there was subtext) about Olivier and Riza. No dirtiness yet, as far as I can tell; most of the Olivier adult-works seem to be focused on having her sexily kick the asses of male characters, mostly Roy.

If only FMA had a more active fandom and a living anon meme, you could request the pairing with a hope for results. :< Alas, our pulse is fairly weak.

I really don't get the RoyxEd fans at all. Some seem to actually think that Ed would make for a better match for Mustang than Hawkeye. Have they READ the manga?

Hey, why isn't here Havoc/Ed???!!!! There is Roy/Ed, Al/Ed and even Envy/Ed but not this!
I like this pairing 'cause it could very well happen. I mean, Ed and Havoc are friends, although they haven't been shown many times together.
In other words, this pairing has as much ground as any other yai-relationship that has been made up. Hughes/Ed is also one of my favourites,when written properly. I have seen some very good yaoi stories about these two and I enjoy them.

Now that I think about it I like HeixEd too because if you think about it if FMA was actually a yaoi HeixEd would probably be the most likely couple(maybe Roy too since seme's in yaoi tend to have his character XD) plus they had one or two yaoi moments in the movie. It's a cute couple.

I'd say EnvyxEd but only in fanart/fanfic/doujin because I'm for EdxWinry in the manga! ^^

Anyway, Envy is dead so it can't happen in the manga.

While I am a Royai fan at heart, I have to say that if I had to choose a same-sex pairing, it would be Riza/Lan Fan. The parallels there are just astounding.

I apologize in advance for this post, for it is a troubling peek into my perverted psyche.

I have several slash pairings I like. One of my favorites is probably Elricest. Yes, it's incest. But if you think about it, it kinda fits with the whole "sin" motif. Together, Ed and Al broke one of the most fundamental laws of nature and the universe. What harm would one more sin do? Besides, being orphans, they're bound to get lonely. All they have is each other. My perverted mind takes that and runs with it. Also the whole taboo thing is pretty hot.

Ed/Heidrich is one of the few slash pairings I can actually see working in canon. They've got a really close relationship. They hold hands in that one scene, for God's sakes. Holed up in that freezing apartment together during Germany's cold winters with nothing but body heat to keep each other warm, something is bound to have happened with them.

I like Roy/Hughes, but only before Hughes met Gracia. I don't care for cheaters, so I wouldn't like it if Hughes was fooling around with Roy behind his wife's back. But when they first met? I can definitely see something going on. I mean, Roy completely lost his mind when Hughes died. Obvious lovers.

I can see Ed and Roy as friends with benefits, but not an actual couple. I do enjoy reading fics about them and their sexual tension, but when they're all mushy and saccharine with each other, it gets out of character. Ed/Ling can be fun, too. Or better yet, Greed/Ling. Schizophrenic mind-sex.

Never liked Ed/Envy, mostly because I don't find Envy attractive at all (too girly). Also, they hate each other. There's a difference between belligerent sexual tension and actually being out for each other's blood.

So... yeah.

Envy only hates Ed because he wants to be like him. And Ed was the only person in the whole world to ever see through to and understand Envy's true feelings. So there is some basis for the fan pairing.

I don't really think there are a lot of gay characters in FMA (except Garfiel, and other bit-part characters may be bi...) but if I had to pick a gay couple, I'd go with Ed x Ling. Haha, I love them, and I think Roy is a little old for Ed. (sorry. ^^)

I find it interesting that the most loved pairing in this thread is edroy and second most loved it elricest, while in the "which pairings can't you stand" thread, those two pairings are the most hated!

While I could certainly imagine Armstrong being gay, I don't think he canonly is. I just don't think he's much for women, really. He probably cares more for his own glorious body XD Also, quite likely his sister has scarred him and induced a fear for the female gender in him. (While it may have faded over the years (the sweats have stopped, phew!) it still reminds itself from time to time in form of an uncomfortable uneasiness. Maybe constantly ripping off his shirt is a way of overcompensating. Lol.)

Anyway, I haven't really thought much about same sex couples in FMA. Until recently I didn't even care much for the straight, canon ones. But if I were to choose one, I suppose... someone brought Lanfan/Riza to my attention, pointing out the similiarities between them. And they're both attractive characters (as far as anime characters go). I suppose I wouldn't have anything against that couple ^^;;

OlivierxIzumi would work too, for obvious reasons XD

but . . Who can we pair him up wit . . Aren't we supposed to talk about couples here . .
