Really Gluttony probably wouldn't exist D:, because as we all know if kids see fat people they want to be fat too! No people eating either. And he'll speak with perfect english and normal man's voice (sorry Gluttony but Funimation sorta made you sound freaky). And they probably rename him Gregory if they didn't figure out a way of completely removing. Oh yeah, they'd HAVE to lighten his completion too, we can have darker skin folks feeling he's a facial slur.

Envy would be a girl... like they made Bashou in Pokemon >> with a strong feminine voice. Probably renamed Helga or something.

Lust would be clothed... more... and they probably airbrush her boobs a bit. Because D-cups are innapropriate D: and they probably rename her Lize or something like that. And her nails would just hit things with no prenatration.

I started getting into FMA when Animax released the Funimation dub. I was just there, flipping channels, and then when I saw a glimpse of a commercial for FMA, I decided to watch out for the show.

Now I just can't imagine anyone else besides Funimation dubbing FMA. Sure, 4Kids did Pokemon and did an okay (though I won't say excellent) job on it, as I followed the show avidly when I was about 10, but seriously though, I agree with what everyone said that 4Kids should stick to anime aimed at younger audiences, or at least, is 99.99 percent free of all blood, violence, suggestive scenes and dialog, etc. After all, FMA has a mostly teen/young adult audience.

I'd suggest some animes that 4Kids should stick to, but in all honesty, I'd much prefer that Funimation did the dubbing.

I'd shoot myself if 4kids took up FMA. ;__; I am so glad Funimation dubbed it. <3

oh lord on high this would be horrible. seriously they would cut the series down to about ten episodes. i mean scar would prolly just shoot bunnies out his hands. i cannot even shudder this is so horrible

It's gonna be like the end of the world. If that would happen, I would think that FMA would never be so popular or even be recognized by some teenagers or maybe other tweens. If that would happen, I wish that never happen at all

This is what would happen if 4kids dubbed FMA.

1. The opening theme song would be a rap song.

2. Trisha never died. Instead she is just really sick. Hoho has left the family in order to search for medicine to cure her. But when Hoho goes missing it is up to Ed and Al to search for him. While Winry and Granny Pinako take care of Trisha.

3. Ed doesn't have automail because he never performed a human transmutation. But Al does wear a suit of armor because he is a hemophiliac and he needs it for protection.

4. There was no Ishbal war and there is no military. Instead character like Roy and Riza peacefully patrol the streets. Roy doesn't use alchemy because fire is violent, and Riza is a badass shot with a slingshot.

5. Scar does not kill alchemist. Instead Scar if trying to find the same medicine that Ed and Al are looking for to cure his brother of the same sickness as Trisha. But Scar is a mysterious character and is misunderstood. Scar would also be named Steve because Scar is much too scary of a name.

6. Father is a guy who has invented this medicine that will cure Trisha and Scar (Steve's) brother. Instead he is afraid of dying so he is keeping this medicine to himself. His henchmen are named Lucy (Lust) Evan (Envy) Gordon (Gluttony) Sam (Sloth) Walter (Wrath) Greg (Greed) and Paul (Pride)

7. Kimblee won't be there because he is just too crazy.

8. Ed, Al, and Steve all team up and go to Father's lair. Instead of fighting they all use reasoning and have a debate about how unfair it is that Father is keeping this medicine to himself. He should be helping the country and the people. Father agrees and gives Ed, Al, and Steve some medicine. Everyone parts ways and there is a happy ending. Along the way Hoho is found and the Elrics become one big happy family.

9. Ed will talk like a punk. While Al will be a complete wimp. There will also be constant jokes about Ed's height.

So that is my idea of if 4kids dubbed FMA. Hope you enjoyed.

1. It probably wouldn't be the end of the world, but I might have seen it and not liked it.

2. The opening song would be a ripoff of some Yugioh theme.

3. Edward would magically regrow his limbs, and Al would become some sort of spirit that resembled Kuriboh.

4. Like FMAobsessed said, Trisha wouldn't die. Hoho would be a doting, obsessive Hughes-type, and he would be a bishie. I also agree with the Steve thing.

5. It would be popular. Just with, you know, 3-7 year olds.

6. There would be many, many more Edward crying scenes, and many, many, many, many more EdXWin scenes. Winry would become a damsel in distress, and Edward would be the subject-to-curious-bouts-of-teen-angst-sensitive type.

7. Screw the military, it would take place at some kind of high school.

8. Before you know it, there would be Alche-mon and Roy would be preaching about the heart of the Transmutation Cards.

9. In fact, let's just make everyone into a furry. 4Kids loves furries.

10. Ed would become 3 feet tall, and many more puns on his height would ensue.

I would totally die if 4Kids took over.

Some more changes would be:

1. Havoc would not smoke instead he would have a lollipop

2. Lust's dress would be changed to something less revealing

3. Rose wouldn't have had a baby as a result of rape instead it is her husband's baby.Her husband would be a doctor/scientist who is trying to discover the medicine everyone is looking for

4.In the movie, Hoho would not sacrifice himself to open the gate to "Shamballa" he'd kindly asked the magical dragon for the key.

5.Greed wouldn't have shriveled(sp?) up and died he'd give Ed some useful information then pack his bags and join the circus with his friends.

6.Living with the Tucker family would have been the most pleasant and peaceful stay for the brothers and the Tuckers lived happily, enjoying each other's company

Riza would be reduced to secretarial duties, as we all know guns do not exist in the 4kids universe. And there would be a whole lot of banishing to the Shadow Realm going on.

I mean...have you seen what they did to One Piece?! The dubbing was..TERRIBLE.

They couldn't have possibly done it, because the anime deals with so many deaths, including the death of Ed and Al's mother.

Judging from their dub of One Piece, they would remove any deaths, and therefore their mother could have never died... What would Ed and Al's "forbidden transmutation" be? Healing their mother from a sickness? What would the Philosopher's Stone be made of? What would they do with Hughes? Have the homunculi "kidnap him and put him a dungeon somewhere"? (because that's what they did with Nami's backstory in One Piece. Absolutely ridiculous.)

It just wouldn't be possible.

The same way they handled Duke in GIJOE: The Movie. Envy put Hughes into a coma (No funeral scene, only Roy standing in a field for no reason). The rest of the series would constantly refer to Hughes' coma. At the end, Schieszska would say that Hughes recovered from his coma. Or 4Kids could remove Elysia's birthday scene from episode 23 and place it in the end to show Hughes' recovery. Thus the scene of Winry talking about her relationship with the Brothers would get redubbed as "I'll miss Ed"/"Don't worry Kiddo (Hughes doing his sexy 'takes off his glasses' act), I just know that kid will be back."
They could also have the Gate be some prison where sacrifices go (with no release). Ed and Al wanted to see the Gate, but their attempt lost them their bodies and their mother (an innocent bystander). Shou Tucker gave up his daughter to be a Gate prisoner so he can get that chimera in return.

if 4kids ever in this universe dub anymore good anime (mainly fma)....... i will raise a army of people that will not allow this to happen, and at the same time raise an army of zombie squirrels and reek havoc on to this world. then go to the people that think 4kids should be allowed to destroy the good anime and kill them

There is a German channel, just like 4kids.
They subbed Naruto very funny. Kinda Itachi has "hidden" and not killed his village. Nobody was killed, just hidden or sent to another world =D.

I have nothing against YuGiOh, I used to watch it too lol, just the 4kids version...they abused use of the Shadow Realm IMO XD (although the abridged series is AMAZING, so I can't hate it too much)

Lol, I think FMA would be 4kid's biggest challenge yet. The war in Ishbal, everything that happened in Lior, just...how would they get around that? :/ I'm morbidly curious

Except they wouldn't make up a Shadow Realm. They didn't for One Piece, so why would they here?

They'd make up other excuses for character's "disappearances" that would at least make a little sense in the FMA world.

Although FMA is so centered around death in so many places that I don't think 4Kids could do it without completely changing FMA into something else.

They would have never been allowed to dub it anyways. They shouldn't have ever been allowed to do One Piece either. Although One Piece is more geared towards kids than FMA is, it's still got too much to it to be considered a kid's show in the USA.

Pokemon was good for 4Kids, nothing else is.

Still we can get a good laugh at thinking of 4Kids dubbing our favorite animes. XD

Ha. This is a very amusing thread...who came up with this idea? Anyway, 4Kids should curl up and die. They totally butchered Tokyo Mew Mew by renaming it as Mew Mew Power, changing all the names, and changing the lines and plot. If they had gotten the rights to FMA...ugh, I don't even want to imagine it. Though the possibilities are funny, it'd be horrifying to see them come true. Hurray for Funimation!

Here are a few things they'd do:

• All the blood would be replaced with Grape Cool-Aid.
• Lust would be renamed "Pretty".
• Gluttony would "make people go away".
• Scar would "send people to the shadow realm".
• All the guns would be water pistols.

Oh, I think they'd most likely change al the food they eat into hamburgers. You know, they did that with Pokémon. Rice cakes were called as jelly doughnuts.. (there's a youtube clip about that somewhere >.> ) and in one of the newer episodes, they changed other japanese foods into western ones with a lousy Photoshop editing (which was so DANG easy to notice )

So.. yeah. Remember when Ed ate that.. japanese food on a train in the first FMA? (I can't remember the name of that food, please forgive me. >_< Anyways, the one with balls on a stick.) It would most likely be a hamburger on 4-kids version. Heck, maybe in one of the childhood memories Trisha would be peeling a hamburger instead of an apple. XD

( by the way, personally I think 4kids ruined Pokémon as well. It's not as kiddy as 4kids makes it to be. Even the first movie had so much deeprer psychological stuff in it, but 4kids went and cut off a major part of the beginning about Mewtwo's birth, and made him "I'm the strongest, fear me UGGGHH" kind of guy. D:< Grah. In the original, he was just wondering about his existence.)

lolololol I thank the anime gods that 4Kidz never got their filthy claws on fma XD lulz at all the blood censoring XD ed and al's mother probably wouldnt have even died, with their anti-death theme, they'd probably change the story so sloth was really trisha and they all lived happily ever after lolololol funnies aside there are too many themes in fma that i doubt would be understood by children, such as civil war, retribution and revenge, self sacrifice and love, reilgion vs science, the whole principle of alchemy and other themes such as kaballah, that runs through the series (particually the manga anyway) fma touches many issues that imo need a 13+ brain to properly understand, i certainly wouldnt have been able to aprreciate its complexity at a young age, and every time i re-read it I allways see something new, so er yeh thank god 4kidz didnt get it XD I have absoloutly no idea why they bothered to do one piece when its so obvious from the ridculous amount of editing how unsuitble it was.

If 4kids got FMA?

- Trisha didn't die. She was kidnapped by Father and Ed and Al are questing to rescue her.
- Truth didn't take Al's body; it merely transported him to another dimension.
- Automail aren't prosthesis; they're simply powered exoskeleton armor.
- Armor Al is a robot. He has no blood seal, but rather a computer chip that allows the real Al to communicate with the real world via remote control from the universe he's stuck in.
- The homunculi are androids.
- Father plans to send the souls of Amestris to the dimension where Al is, not sacrifice them for a stone.
- References to religion and historical alchemy are purged. Alchemy is instead referred to simply as magic. Transmutation circles are changed so that they contain no religious runes.

Etc.

I love this thread. I know I already posted somewhere about how I think 4Kidz would ruin FMA, but I thought of more.

There is obviously no wars or violent conflicts. So there is no military that people hate.
But there is the Romantic Dynamic Duo that protect the innocent people of the streets with their flashlight and slingshot. Whether people want to be saved or not. Anyone want to take a guess to who I am talking about?

Garfiel would probably just be removed, unless they called him Gabriela and made him a lady who can't figure out for the life of her where her eyebrows are, so she pencils them in wrong every time. Heck, all the names would probably be changed. Who names their kid "Ed", anyway? The naming sensibilities of this show are just wrong. [/sarcasm]

Instead of being defeated, the homunculi would change to the seven heavenly virtues, to show kids that you really can beat people into shape. Envy would indeed be a talking, walking, magical palm tree that later becomes Ed's best friend and trusted mentor, and Lust would be wearing one of those puffy coats all the time.

And Al would just be walking around in that suit of armor. (The Devil's Nest would have to be cut out, though--Martel jumping into that armor with a young boy actually in there? Probably not the best example for kids to have...)

The Devil's Nest would be a restaurant rather than a bar...

Yeah, I heard she drugged her, and Roze's mannerisms and hazy-eyed, unmoving spaciness seemed very drugged to me...but I could be wrong...

I think we are to assume she was drugged based on Dante's knowledge of science and chemicals.
