My top three favorite Homunculi are in the lead! Woo hoo! XD

Hmm. I suppose I like Lust the best. She's a very lonely soul (um...despite her lack of one...), and she did step out on her own in the end.

Outside of her, I like Greed too, but he's an arrogant fool and uses others indiscriminately. For that matter, Envy is a horrible, vengeful little brat, Wrath is murderous, whiny and emotionally dependant/volatile, Pride masquerades as a kindly father figure but kills ruthlessly and without remorse, Sloth manipulates her own sons and tries to force them to kill each other, and Gluttony is a disgusting flesheater with the mind of a deranged child. And, for that matter, Lust is a cold-blooded and self-serving witch of a woman. They are villains, after all.

What I love about this series is that, besides all of their awfulness, Lust is lonely and longs to understand her origins, Envy has every reason to hate his father, Wrath is a scared child in deep need of love, Pride commands and inspires greatness in others, Sloth still loves her children on some vestigial level, Greed respects and appreciates the skills of his gang and his rivals, and Gluttony truly cares for Lust in a weird sort of way. There's dimension to all of them, despite their tangible sins. And that's good writing.

My favorites are Envy, Wrath and Lust.

Envy because he's a shape shifter that kills people, what more do you need. I mean shure he's a little crazy, but he's cool.

Envy's not a "little crazy," he's 100% insane. That's what makes him cool, though (along with that hairstyle and outfit~ ).

Envy, he's the only one who retains some level of dignity in the end.

Envy's not quite as loveable, but he's one of the very few 'tempramental bastard' types that I can stand.

I'd say overall, Greed's the coolest. Then Lust, then Envy.

And then Wrath. ::Gets pummeled with bricks:: Yeah, he's a brat, but I can't really help but feel some level of pity. Plus, he's cute. (And, I love murderous children as villains. Something about that is appealing to me. I'm a sick person, I guess)

Then, call me wierd, but... Gluttony's sorta cute. I mean, he's one of the ugliest things I've ever seen, but his simplistic mind, and the way he treats Lust like a mother is just... well, cute.

But yeah, long stort short, Greed Pwnz.

and in manga, I thought she is such a cool b!+ch >w< altho I like manga Envy better than manga Lust... but my hate for anime Envy carried over xDDD

I chose Greed (anime) because he never wanted to help the others, he had his own ambitions and wanted to follow through with them no matter what, although that does sound bad. Besides, when he used his outer carbon shell, he looked pretty bad ass. In a way he gave Ed alot of clues as to how to beat him, but I'm pretty sure Ed would have figured it out on his own though.

My favorite homunculus? Greed, because of reasons already said (he did whatever he wanted, not like the rest) and new ones (he has almost unbeatable defence, he commands his own army when we first see him, and he's the coolest of them all)

The homunculus I'd like to be? Pride, because of various reasons *COUGH Controls the Military COUGH*

My favorite Homunculus would be Pride. Come On! He's the cuddley father figure whose really one of the few good guys in the military .... DON'T CONTRADICT ME!!!

lust gets my vote... she felt the most human out of all of them, and wasn't actually on anyone's side but her own...

I like them all.. Except for Gluttony.

Although, he (I don't think that anyone knows the gender for sure, Envy looks pretty male to me on the action figure o.O, has shorts under a wrap thinger...) is a sadistic bastard and jack ass, I'd choose Envy. There is just something I really like about the character, can't put a finger to it quite.

Lust, I think, was best drawn... [spoiler]and I liked that she was most in tune with the human she was created to try and bring back. She was also awesome for betraying the others and seeking Ed's help in the end. [/spoiler]

Dammit, another FMA spoiler that I didn't want to come across! I got the feeling that King Bradley was a little too nice, and that he might have let Lust and Gluttony in to interogate Marco, but I didn't think that he was one of the sins!

Yeah, Greed rocks. He is SUCH a pimp, and I love him all the more for it.

Actually, hating Wrath is quite so very easy (As you'll see in the haters topic). I, personally love Wrath very much, for the fact that he's so intriguing, tragic, and, of course, cute (In a deranged homicidal child sort of way). He's probably the closest to human of any of the homunculi.

But, he whines a lot, cries, is clingy, and acts like a little punk towards most everyone except Sloth. Thos are the reasons he is hated (among other things)

... But I heart him. ^^

Greed is by far the best Homunculus.

He's the only homonculus that didn't seem dispicable to me. Envy is a sneaky little bastard. Gluttony is just plain stupid-disgusting-and pointless....Wrath is a whinny little mama's boy. Pride was cool at first, until it was discovered that he was in fact a homonculus that started wars just to collect raw material to produce the Philosopher's stone. Sloth was pointless. I hated the fact that she was the Elrics mother. It isn't that way in the manga. They had gone through enough suffering, they didn't have to meet a homonculus born from their failed transmutation. And finally Lust had a good side, but she used her charm to bad uses and when she killed the man that fell in lover with her, I think she went to far.

Greed is the only one who had a good reason to live, all he wanted was freedom. He wanted eternal life to keep living forerver because he was locked up for so long. He was the only one who had a real simple purpose of just living, gaining wealth and power like most of us humans do. In a way, he was the most human of all the homonculus.

Hey now. Envy just wants to kill every living human! And illusion/deception is his ability!^^ Gluttony...I don't really like, though I personally would've loved to have seen his former life person thingy. Wrath is a little kid...about 10, and he's lived in the gate for those ten years. He's never had a mommy, just that hell, so I think someone who loved him was a big thing for him and the boy wanted to be with her alot. Plus, he IS a child, so he won't be as mature as say...Pride, Ed or Winry. Sloth was not pointless! She was Wrath's mommy.^__^ Provided the cute little boy with someone to love him/love. Lust I'll say nothing on. She's designed to be evil. Yes, I know that contradicts my first statement about her.^^; So yes....there. XD

Besides the obvious I liked Lust the best. She had the most character development out of all of them and you learned the most about her past.

Envy was pretty cool!! Lust....Was just Lust...That's all I can say. Pride...I just hated him. Sloth was alright, but I agree. Ed and Al shouldn't have been put through that. Gluttony was useless, he gained nothing from eating anything. But Greed was awesome, and I agree that he was the most human of them all. Wrath was pretty cute...in a way...But Greed was by far the best.

It had to happen with Sloth. It's not like reality's just gonna give Ed and Al a break, just because 'Aaaaw, the poor boys have had it hard enough already.' A failed human transmutation results in a Homunculus whether you like it or not.

Besides, if you if you haven't already realized that the Elrics constantly just keep getting hell thrown at them, you haven't watched the series close enough.

Love? I don't think in my mind that a homonculus is capable of love....Not the kind a love a mother holds in her heart for her child. Sloth didn't love Wrath, I'm pretty sure of that.

But on that note, I think the homunculi, on some level want to feel love. That was Wrath's driving force. What was left of his incomplete soul was wracked with distress, and starving for love and compassion. That was his tragedy. He goes through his life, not understanding why he had to be abandoned and scorned just for being born what he was.
Lust's desire for becoming human was that she wanted to be 'that woman'. She still remembered having feelings for the man who tried to ressurect her. She wanted to be more than this incomplete shell that she was fated to be.
Sloth is plagued by memories of having been a mother, and having loved her sons, but she knows that that person is not who she really is. Imagine how empty that would be, knowing you can never have the happiness you remember, and knowing that those you are supposed to love are responsible for giving you that existence. I think she took on Wrath because Wrath was in need of a mother, and Sloth needed something to nurture. They fit together. Sloth said herself that she couldn't bear having those memories, because she might still be an incomplete version of their mother, and if that was true, she might even love them. She needed to be rid of them so they would no longer remind her of what she could never be.

ENVY!!! He was by far the most crazy and evil of the seven. Some of the other characters had their own little understandable motives, but Envy was always just a remorseless bastard. I love him. [SPOILER]I'm so glad he's still alive after the end of the series. I wonder if the dragon in the movie is really him, or if we'll see him in human-ish form again. Ugh, can't wait for the moviiieee![/SPOILER] I liked how the others were portrayed, too. You kind of had to feel sorry for Wrath and Gluttony toward the end. It's disconcerting when the bad guys cry for their lost comrades.

I have to go with Lust. She was the only one that appealed in the fact that she wanted to go back to being human instead of staying homunculi. She also had sort of a personality you got to know, instead of sloth, who's human form you never get to see ALOT of.

Gluttony is a wretched flesheater who thinks like a child and just disgusts me. Whoever bought him back should be shot in the head a million times until they get the fact if you want a homunculus/human, you bring back someone worthwhile ~~

Envy is a whiny little baby over 400 years old yet he doesn't get over his hate. Wrath was a good character. Even though he's a bit complainy, he acts like he's supposed to, he acts his age. XD He doesn't go around lurking the shadows and killing people. He's chilidsh and a good childish character at that

Pride = If you looked him up in the Fullmetal Alchemist Dictionary, then I would think you'd find, "Sadisitic moron who likes to go around acting like he's a nice person when all he really does is just kill people without remorse"

I'm sick of morons like you only skimming the surface of a person. Pride is so much more then that!

Let's examine the facts:

1: He's the leader of the military. How do you think he got to that position? He followed the orders of his supiriors. Thus he made it to President/Fuhrer following Dante's orders. You see where I'm going with this?

2. If you read the manga, when he attended Hughes's funeral, when Elicia started to cry, "Don't let them bury daddy", if you looked carefully, you'd see his hands where shaking. He was sympathetic for Elicia and Glacia because he had a wife and son.

3. The character types in the manga and the anime differ, right down to their code-names. In the anime, he's known as 'Pride' (as we all know). But in the manga, he's known as 'Wrath'. Taking this into account, one would expect that someone like him would have great fury when pushed over the edge. So you can't really blame him for killing his son, when we saw that he was blind with rage.

While I do know that he could have had more control over his actions, you have to understand no one is perfect. I mean, I think that Brad really did care for the people he was in contact with.

I don't hate pride, but for that matter, I don't like him. He probably spent the some of the most time onscreen, and yet he got relatively no genuine character development. All that you can really see of him is his behaviour as a puppet.

Thus my comment on how "he could have had more control over his actions".
