Yami No Matsuei was animated by U.S. Manga Corps and it was available in Vermont's independent video store, First Run Video

I've read some of Yami No Matsuei, not alot though. It was pretty good, from what I saw.

Well.. I guess this could be coming a little late...
Let's see.. I really liked Golden Cain and Selfish Love. They're short too.. just one volume, and SL is two . Kizuna is supposed to be very good. I haven't read the manga, but I've seen the OVA and I liked it... I would suggest Love Mode too, but it's not licensed...
You know FAKE right? It's not so much yaoi until the last volume though. It's awesome. It's also along with Gravitation my favourite shonen-ai manga (unless you count Yami no Matsuei). It's also easier to find than those others...

I've read vol one now, and I like the story so far. Tsuzuki is quite funny. I didn't expect Shinigami to like eating that much.
Anyway, the story does keep me intrigued for what's up next, which is basically what it has to do, so that's a good sign.

Yami No Matsuei episode 1-5 is consist of "The Nagasaki Files Part 1-5" and it was funny when a regualr dinner into a food competition

Really liked Ayano's You're My Love Prize in Viewfinder, her art is beautiful...plot enjoyable too.

Oh yes, I adore Tsuzuki! . Usually main characters aren't my fave.. so that says a lot (and Tsuzuki is even pretty ukish, while I usually like seme characters).
Yup, he really is a fan of food, well mainly sweet things... and he likes to drink a lot too, which gets him into trouble. Poor guy... You'd think he'd learn from experience. Anyway.. although he's dumb, I really like him!. He's soo sweet, good-natured, caring and selfless.. among others . I really like Hisoka too, even though he can be a little cold at times. I sympathise with both characters actually... so very angsty... there's more to them than one would think .

In the anime Yami no Matsuei eps 1-3 are the Nagasaki arc.. 4-6, the devil's thrill, 7-9 the king of swords, 10-13 the Kyoto arc. The last is based on the story in vols 7&8 while the first on the stories in the first three volumes.
The anime is a little different.. but not much.. For example the food fight part wasn't in the manga .

You should consult with the king and queen of shonen-ai, Omakase and Kihaku. I know squat.

I haven't watched the anime yet, but they tend not to be as accurate as the Manga. You should read the manga!

If you like Gravi, you should definatly look for Eerie queerie. The art is really similar, it's very funny^^.

Ah... yes... Gravitation. *smiles*. I wasn't much of a shonen-ai/yaoi fan before watching Gravi. but one thing leads to another... the anime is really great! It's a little different and shows all the important events, but it's based on the first 7 books.. I think.. so the ending isn't that "final"... also it's just 13 eps.

Well.. Eerie Queerie (Ghost!) is a really cute story.. although just 4 volumes.
Um.. I think thought that the art differs quite a lot from Gravi's.... (but that's just me?) FAKE is great too.. I'd suggest that if you like Gravitation.
Um... and one of the cutest stories ever is "Only the Ring Finger Knows".
It was just sooo cute and touching! The art was just beautiful too!
And even though it isn't exactly shonen-ai, I'd definitely recommend Yami no Matsuei, especially if you're into dark themes. Like I mentioned before, it's very hinted and the chemistry between the characters is intriguing and deep. *sighs*

Hm.. I wish Kase was still around too... She'd know more than me.

(I love it way too much ), but I'll be waiting now patiently for the volumes to come out... I've been buying them all uptill now... and reading many times through... Nya, I was tempted to buy a shoujo magazine that has both the God Child part from Count Cain and is somewhere in YnM... but I would need to buy them all that's just a little bit too much, I'll wait for the manga's to come out.

anyway i have a friend who has a site (well its not a site) who has all 12 volumes of gravitation remix pluse 2 extra stories. would you guys like the link to it. all of them are in english but (i think) 8.5 and 10. he is getting those two translated.

yea i now have 1-8 of gravitation and loving it the more i read it. in volume 8 page 163 top pannal, K looks so evil, but hot there. i now have another character i like. oh i hate Seguchi in volume 8. he is soo mean. volume 8 almost made me cry a few times.

oh i was about to buy only the ring finger knows and skyscrapper of oz, but this person comes out of no where and get the last volume of each. now i have to wait a whole week before they restock. i should have bought them both when i had the chance.

oh has anyone ever heard of Until the full Moon (i think that is what it is called)? my friend was reading it and she like it. i think it is shounen-ai/yoai but i dont remember. i think it is about a guy who is half vampire and half wearwolf (i think). on a full moon he turns into a girl.

Yami no Matsuei is Fantasy, Shoujo, Action. Hmm..

Gravitation is almost non shounen-ai. The main character, who is a guy, behaves/looks almost like a girl.

Kihaku: I haven’t read much shonen-ai so far except what I stumble upon (or what my sweetie sends me), and that’s usually single pictures and not a story. After reading (half of!) this thread, I went looking for Ai no Kusabi but everyone on my chosen p2p only has a sex scene and not the whole movie. I’m a starving artist and I can’t afford to mail order it at the moment so I’m relying on piracy. >.< The story sounds so beautiful and tragic, though, from what I've read.

Gravitation Remix is a doujinshi series by Maki Murakami (the Gravi mangaka).
I think of it as "what Murakami-sensei didn't get to draw in the actual series"
Um, it features many pairings.. and is pretty graphic.

Random note:
I'm still very depressed that VIZ edited Yami no Matsuei vol 4.... I haven't managed to get it myself (because it will be ages till we get it around here), but I read about it... there didn't seem to be much point in the editing. A characters head and hand were removed.... darn.. I checked my scanlation and it just seems weird. Removing that doesn't make that much difference.
It really annoys me that the original work is tampered with.
