No thanks needed. Anything for a fellow shonen-ai fan. ^^v And besides, I like roping others into an anime I'm obsessing over. X3 That way I can obsess with others. Doesn't make me feel so alone.

the art is very nice
here is what aku-tenshi said about the manga
"Akira has just lost his grandmother and is now living alone. He suddenly becomes adopted by his newly discovered family, the Takatou family, who is one of the major business tycoon in Japan. It seems that he is one of the 2 candidates for taking over his new family. The other candidate? His hot, prince-like cousin, Rei! But with the forceful wooing approaches made by Rei, are Akira's body and soul are being knocked around...!?"

I accidently purchased Pet shop of horrors volume 8 when I was supposed to buy Gravitation 1. It opened my eyes to a new manga series, but it's not what I had in mind when paying for the book. (I realized it 40 minutes later)
Ahh, the twists of life!

Jaganshi: Well.. for some reason I don't manage to get through to the site...so you won't be seeing me very often
Yeah, shonen-ai in Digimon is completely fine... I don't really mind the ayoi anymore though...
You''ve got Earthian? Wow! I've never seen it
anywhere! Who's licensed it?
I have Gravitation(up to vol 9)
Yami no Matsuei(yes, I want to count that

) vol 1 &2
Fruits Basket(oh, well, it has hints

) 1-6
I manged to get FAKE and Eerie Queerie from my friend (although I'm thinking of buying EQ vol 2 myself, since it has that poster....)
I was looking at Petshop of Horrors at the shop...There are sooo many volumes of it already... my poor money

(still thinking abou it)
Nizuko: Yay! welcome! That new series sounds great!;) (okay don't know if it's new, but well...) um... so where do you find it????
Kase: Is it Wu Fei of Wu Bear? I'm soo wonderin now...

Lord Odenetheus: So you didn't buy Garvi 1 then? or you bought that too?

Noo.....
Try and remember it... mini-monster.... Oh, how horrible for that to get deleted...
hmm.. and to add to be previous list..I forgot the potential shonen-ainess of D.N.Angel.. so that goes too.

vol 1-7
And now I have Gravitation vol 10
and God Child 1-3(not sure if it's shonen-ai...I haven't had the chance to read it yet)
Omakase Shimasu
Dec 31 2004, 01:24 PM
T___T I know, it's horrible! And you didn't even get the chance to read it~

Other than that inappropriate scene. Ugh.

Love Mode? A shonen-ai manga? Oh I have to check it out! Thanks for the link!

Ah I can read Count Cain before reading the sequel... that's great

Hmm...I saw the starting page(I'll get into the manga soon..) Pink backgrounds, blue backgrounds.. That should give a hint.. but white backgrounds? I feel confused. Oh well

Kase: No worries. Take your time.

Eh, you're interested in what I just bought? Yay! I'll have to read them first though...

ooh apparently Count Cain/God Child isn't shonen-ai. Oh well, I'll probably enjoy the story anyway. It seems interesting

Finally got obsessed with Love Mode. obsessed! Does anyone have the drama cds? ...I'm not sure if they're worth getting, and WHERE did you get them from.

You've made my year complete.

All I know is that the webmistress of a site called
Fleeting Fancies (maybe you've heard of that site or the webmistress herself) thought the voices of the drama cd were... weird. At least the main character was. Takayima doesn't have a deep voice like she had expected. The cast for Reiji and Naoya was perfect.

;;
CD 2: was worth every penny spent.
Toshihiko Seki (
Duo Maxwell -
Gundam Wing,
Sanzo "Bonzo" -
Saiyuki,
Riki -
Ai no Kusabi) played Kiichi by the way.

Then again, he loves those uke parts.

This doesn't really help at all. I don't really know where you can buy the drama cds. >.> JP Queen, maybe?
@
Kihaku:

You take your time too then. And the sequel of
Count Cain isn't? Hmmm...

Dec 31 2004, 05:37 PM
Unfortunately, no.

;; Wish I did though. My sister has read the scanlations and is as obsessed with it as you, I think. "Yes, yes, Reiji~ and just Reiji~" (<-- my sister)

Oh, she also says-- wait, she wants to know why you got obsessed with this particular manga.

Apparently it's too shonen-ai for someone not really into shonen-ai. (If you really don't care about whether it's shonen-ai or not, she recommends a manga called
Desire)
Kihaku
Dec 31 2004, 05:57 PM
Well... Count Cain was in pink on the site... so I assume it's not shonen-ai
But what is that white? *is bursting*
Love Mode istoo shonen-ai? Now how can that....(oh, if you're not a shonen-ai fan..okay...)
Hmm.. but you do own the Drama CD, Kase? That's how I understood it...
Or wait are we talking about the manga or the CD? *is very confused again*
Omakase Shimasu
Dec 31 2004, 07:39 PM
Oh, the pink~ Yes, that means shoujo, unless it's pink with a white background. Then it's in-between shoujo and shonen-ai, like
Yami no Matsuei. At least, that's how
I understood it.

The same goes for the "white" background. That's actually light-blue.

Um, no I don't own the drama cds, only the scanlations. ^^;; But you can always try and check JP Queen if you want those drama cds.
Oh and I also meant it's got a blue background.

;; So it's just shonen-ai. Totally shonen-ai. Not yaoi, though, just shonen-ai, but shonen-ai nonetheless!

As far as I'm concerned, Sakura-Crisis is a god-send. Their mangas are all http download and they scanlate the MOST ineteresting mangas. If anyone wants Yami no Matsuei, you'd better hurry download it 'coz they're going to discontinue it soon. It was already licensed but they decided to finish up the current volume first.
Count Cain is not Shonen-Ai though I'm supporting the Cain/Riff pairing. It is a treasure though. A bit of dark humour that may disturb the squeamish plus mentions of incest, murder etc... Think of it as Sherlock Holmes with a darker flavour.
PS: Shi-Ran is one of my favourite scanlations ites too. Too bad their http download is currently down at the moment.

Desire she says? Well i'll appreciate it if you could pm me the link. I'm pretty new into this. I saw this thread months ago, but i didn't really get into the s-ai/yaoi scene untill...3 days ago? I started off with pretty carppy stuff and finally met Love Mode. Thank god, or else i wouldev'e given up and branded you guys wierdos.
Omakase Shimasu
Dec 31 2004, 10:12 PM
Oh.

;; Sorry, I forgot to mention
Desire has already been licensed. Scanlators never got the chance to work their magic on this one. But it's still recommended, together with
Gravitation,
FAKE, etc etc. All those shonen-ai manga all recent fans of shonen-ai must have read by way of introduction.
Oh, I can give you a link to a scanlation group which scanlates a shonen-ai manga called
Thief and Detective. It's sweet and pretty short. But since I don't really know your preferences concerning manga... Well, I think you'll like it regardless. I mean... Thief and Detective, Raito and L.

Anyway, here's your link:
Aku TenshiWeirdos, huh?

I'm glad you eventually "saw he Light" then.

hah, so Yami no Matsuei
is at least hinted. yay!

I don't mind the Yami no Matsuei license.. since I'm buying the volumes anyway.. and it will do good for the publishing of those remaining ones.. I just hope I'm not too tempted to read all the scanlations first

I prefer reading it as a book...
Zeus, Zeus.. by You Higuri.. (I think..) It's licensed in Germany at least.. *gets happy*
Hah.. I have a good idea what to get next... (stupid money.. why are you running out?)
Thief and Detective... must check out. ther are so many things to check out.
I read Boys Next Door yesterday... no I mean today

(not the scanlation, but the manga I just purchased along with a few others). I loved it, even though it made me cry.. I love/hate stories like that.. So depressing, but beautiful... *sighs*
I recommend it to shonen-ai and dark themes fans !:D

Uum, uum, I wanted to say something, but I forgot... @.@ Oh, right!
Seikimatsu Darling~ Another recommended manga and OAV if you're interested enough. It's about two guys who've obviously fallen in love with each other, but can't come to an agreement about who should play the parts of uke and seme (they're exactly the same height

). So they think up ways to see which one of them is better suited for the uke part, even though neither of them particularly cares for being the uke.

It's actually more like a parody-ish spoof, fluffy and cute. ^.^
A group of scanlators has taken up the project, but haven't published anything yet. They're perfectionists at heart.

The OAV is available on BT, but it's an old VHS version, rm. file. ^^;;

here is a summary from zeus
Kira Yuuki is a 15 year old boy whose only wish is to be a normal teenager. Despite what he wants, he isn't really human at all -- he's a Lemora Saramanda. There's a strange symbol on his palm, testimony to what his is. Inaba and Yukia are two of the Kira's closest friends. However, because he is a special type of his species, Kira is wanted by others for the power he can bring. The mysterious Rosen Kroitz Secret Society seems to know a great deal about the Saramanda, keeping them as pets and breeding them. One day, Kira is captured by his pursuers, and Inaba and Yukia chase after the car he's trapped in. The accident that follows changes everything for the friends, as does the appearance of Kira's older brother...

Thieves, I'm up to Book 6 in Love Mode now. It's so interesting.

I love the Aoe brothers, Reiji, especially.
And yes, I'm still skipping all the "action."
Also, in Book 6, page 28 . . . the text seems to be in traditional Chinese, and if so, it also seems to be translated inaccurately. The first bubble apparently says, "No, I can." and the second states "I will follow your words (orders)." Is there a sort of significance behind this translation difference or am I looking too much into it? And the robbers speak in simplified Chinese. I find that funny.
