It is licensed, but I'm sure someone will sub it. I managed to talk another group into picking up Crimson Spell, since Nakama dropped, I might be able to talk a group into subbing Winter Cicada.

Oh. and the smexy catboy in my siggie is from the bl game called Lamento, which comes out in October and I can't wait! It's got some really pretty artwork and the music is gorgeous. Loveless is ten times better than Gravitation. When I read Gravitation for the first time I was angry because I had wasted ten minutes of my life to read that.

Loveless is more cute and has more plot, imo.

Okay, I've got a question that is sort of off topic, but it's a Gravitation question. Well, I'm writing a short story and I'm going to have Bad Luck touring nationwide in Japan. Where does Shuichi even live? I never thought about it. does he live in Tokyo cause that's what I always thought? And I'm having a bit a trouble with the touring Schedule. (you don't have to help with that)

There are a couple of full series..s? I dunno how to make that plurl. My favorites are Fake, Eerie Queerie, Sukisho/Sukishyo, Kizuna, bonds of love, and Our Kingdom. And then there are shorts, which are one or two volumes long. Golden Cain, Selfish Love, Desire, Passion, and Finder Series. Hope that helps. ^^; The shorts are really sweet. most of them are, at least.




Yeah! Gackt = teh awesomeness. Have you seen his movie, Moonchild? It's one of my faves. I was hoping that him and Hyde would get it on sometime in the movie.




Well, if you only took ten minutes to read gravitation, then you prolly didn't really get a good idea of what it's about. In my opinion, gravitation has just as much a plot as loveless. And it's a lot longer of a series.

@ Jaganshi - You think? I don't have the pacience to read through a manga if it bores me to death on the first five minutes. :/

Even though I only watched the anime, it was kinda hard to watch 'Gravitation' until the end (and I like to finish watching an anime I start, even if I don't really like it after a while, surprisingly). There were very funny moments but the main character got boring after a while and I found Yuki to be extremly dislikable and clichéd. The only character I liked was Tohma (I think it's his name). I don't know if Gravitation has got as much plot as Loveless, since these are very different animes but I personally found Loveless to be more enjoyable, even with it being shorter.

Yaoi has rather pissed me off as of late. :/ It gets all so formulaic. Styles blend into one big yawn of sameness, the character design is always the same, and the roles are always the same.

There's always the big broad shouldered (but ridiculously lean torsoed) "seme", and the shy, boyish big eyed skinny "Uke", And mostly what bothers me is how utterly nonconsentual they all seem to be. It wouldn't be so bad if a bondage thing is what you're looking for, but it's disturbing that an imbalanced near-rape relationship is portrayed in the title of a cute fluffy modern romance.

Wtf?

You'd think that it's some other language. In Yaoish, "No, stop! I really don't want this! *cries*" means "Yes, yes, keep going! I'm just denying how much I reallly want you."

Honestly, there's more hope for Fan-slash than original slash, it seems. At least there's the off chance that their original three dimensional characters will remain somewhat intact rather than submitting to bland and cruel stereotypes.

No. I can honestly say it doesn't bug me. Okay, I take that back. Some things do peeve me, like the once defiant uke who sudenly becomes submissive, or the weepy uke. But for every 10 mangas that I read, that has rape as the basis of the relationship, I always find a jewel that contains no rape, and honest meaningful relationships. I've seen this rant alot in the yaoi community, and it really doesn't phase me anymore. If you're fed up with the content, then just don't read it. If you want a change of pace from the typical yaoi rape scenario, then you've got to really search for the lovey dovey stuff. Here's some titles you should check out that include no rape whatsoever:

Eh, I was just feeling fed up, and wanted to rant among friends rather than somewhere where it's more likely to be a general 'I agree with you. Yaoi sucks. You should give it up right now, because it's the devil, blah blah blah.'

It's not that I'd give it up, but am just exasperated over some points, and the fact that most of the haters feed off these negative things. Take it as an anime fan ranting to other anime fans about how they hate bad dubbing. Or something.

I don't know if anyone has posted any of these nextpics, but this is from my favorie Shounen-ai artist, Uei Shiang. She just rocks! She's also a chinese BL novelist, but I don't think any of her works have been translated yet. And almost all of these wallpapers are covers from her novels. She's got a style that's refreshing and different, and it's nice to see something different from the norm CG pack pics.

Haha, I understand. That's happened alot to me. The actual reason that I read gravitation all the way through was, -don't laugh at me- I didn't know that it was a shounen-ai when I first started reading it. I just though it was a comedy, so I kept reading it since I thought it was funny. And when the relationships started popping up, I was like, ".....oh. Well, okay." -dorky, I know.-



I agree that Loveless had more of a plot, I was just trying to say that Gravitation isn't just mindless man sex. Hah, funny, I actually hated Tohma. And now that I think back, it actually wasn't that great of a series. I just have a soft spot for it, since it was the first real shounen-ai think I ever read.

@ Toby- (I didn't feel like quoting the entire thing XD) I do agree that yaoi is getting very cliche, but I only find that in the big, well known ones. In my opinion, the lesser titles follow their own style, instead of going with the traditional "Man rape" template. I try to avoid more well known titles for this purpose.

Well, Zarpie can have some as well as anyone else who's into real smexy stuff. The male parts are censored, but they're still high on the smutty end. Why'd they have to make Rai and Asato so freaking hot?

OH and if you do ever plan to play this game, Zarpie don't forget to find some translations, cg guides, and a load of other crap you'll need to navigate through this game. It's a pain in the ass to load, but it's well worth it. It has an invredible storyline and the music is the best of any BL game I've ever played. I could go on forever about this game, but that would take an eternity. Just play it!
