I haven't watched the anime shonen ai but i am into yaoi

Hmm... I wonder what volumes you're talking about.. . The first volume (of the English version) isn't out until November.. if I remember right.. and I suppose you can get them at a bookstore... or? I don't know about shopping online.. I rarely do that... I get some German manga that way though.

You know? online stores where you can buy Love Mode volumes? JP Queen's one of them, but I just realized Amazon.com has them as well. Only thing is, they're out of stock most of the time, so it's either you buy second-hand items or wait for the chance to snatch the volumes away the minute you spy them as available. The prices aren't bad either.

Well.. not really since I don't have a credit card and don't shop online. But the german company that publishes Love Mode allows me to order through their site... the only problem is that I have to pay in advance. I also recently discoered a sort of service that can order books and stuff from abroad and I pay when I go to retrieve them (the German stuff is more expensive though).

Is there a difference between shounen-ai and yaoi? I'm new to this kind of anime.

Shonen ai is a boy/boy love relationship where there's no sex and yaoi is a boy/boy relationship where there's sex (please Kase correct me! )

Shounen-ai is actually underage males in a relationship

Yaoi is adult males.

The sexual content does not matter.

At least, that's what I've heard, and have preached before. I've read it in more than one place, by the way, even though I cannot remember them now. I'll see if I can find them.

Hmm.. yeah. Those definitions of yaoi and shonen-ai are for us westerners . But in my opinion it's okay to think of shonen-ai as a male/male love relationship and yaoi the same but with also sex involved. I like to refer to lighter yaoi as shonen-ai anyway.

In general all male/male is known as yaoi (I assumed that regardless of age) or BL (boy's love).
Shonen-ai is a term not used anymore (besides among westerners).

See, the only things that are valuable to me are my books and yaoi collection. (which I still don't really get the definition). Now all my yaoi on the computer has...moved on, so to speak. Computer crashed and burned and couldn't make a backup. As my drop of tear falls I'm racking my brain in trying to re-find all of them, which will be hard. Ah well.

Hmm...I always thought shounen-ai was more like guy romance, usually going no further than making-out, and that yaoi was guy on guy sex ~.~ usually having no limits.

I have a love/hate relationship with shounen-ai actually. The romance I don't care about (at the moment) and the making-out can either be disgusting...or hot ;>.> Yaoi however, totally disgusts me.

Unfortunately I haven't read anything really new, but I did have a shounen ai/yaoi animefest on my own last night. I watched Fujima Orchestra, Ai no Kusabi, Sensitive Pornography,Level c, Mirage of Blaze, My Sexual Harassment, Kashou no Tsuki, Enzai, Kizuna and some other stuff I can't really remember right now. I'm not much of a fan of My Sexual Harrasment or Enzai(I managed to watch them though )... but I love the rest!
(well I haven't seen Kashou no Tsuki though).

I recently bought the first volume of Yellow. Has anyone else read it? I loved the art and the characters and the story has me hooked. I hate to wait for the next volume to come out.... *tears hair*

Yeah My Sexual Harassment wasn't my favorite, it was outright porn. Out of all the ones I watched my favorite was probably a tie between Mirage of Blaze and Ai no Kusabi. I loved all the action that went with the stories.

- Shonen-ai is sweet, non-graphical romance between two boys.

- Yaoi is used exclusively for graphic male/male sex.

(- Seinen-ai (which I actually prefer) is the non-lemon romance between two men)

Note the many differences between the three.

I liked the feeling in Mirage of Blaze and Ai no Kusabi.. so angsty and sad.. but still beautiful I would have loved to see Mrage of Blaze continue... It was so unfinished....
And as for My Sexual harrasment.. while it was watchable and interesting.. I found some things a little distasteful and didn't fancy the main character. I mean.. how whimpy can a person be... *sighs* I wish he and his friend had hooked up though.. (instead of being played by Honma...)

Ooh... Yellow... I really loved the first volume! I liked the art, characters and the relationship between the two guys(one is gay and in love with his partner, who happens to be straight although he still does love the other guy.. I found it incredibly sweet to be to love so one a lot without having the need to sleep with him ). It kind of remined me a little of FAKE in the way that there are two guys going on "job" (snatching drugs:P) and the other is constantlywanting to get closer to the other, who surpringly let's his partner get quite far. (and there might be denied feelings involved...) I can't wait to read the next... The "jobs" and relationship had me hooked pretty quickly...
