Quick Question.

Is the series 51 or 52 episodes?

Most anime series I know of are 52, but I keep hearing 51...

I'm new to this forum, but have been really into FMA.

Does anyone think that maybe Honhenheim may help get Al's body back from the other side of the Gate. It may not have been his intention when first going to Dante, but now that he's on the other side of the Gate, maybe he'll see it and figure something out.

Maybe since when Al and Ed touch (activating the stone) and see the Gate, they'll be able to see Honhenheim waiting with Al's body.

Side Note - About the movie poster. I think it slick of them to not put Al on it. So now we don't know whether he get his body back or not. (this may have been a past opinion on the "Movie Poster" post, if so, feel free to ignore it)

Well that's my two cents
What do you all think?

i think that the rumor of there being only 51 episodes was spread around on this forum as a misunderstanding; people thought that since there was no episode being aired last week that the series would only be 51 instead of 52 episodes, but in actuality they aired two episodes the week before, making up for the missed week. so i'm under the impression that yes, there will be 52 episodes.

No... there's only 51 episodes. Check out the post with the Animage/Animedia(?) calender images and start counting off the remaining weeks. You will end with episode 51 on the last week of broadcast.

Just finished watching 45. It seems each episode creates new questions faster than they are answered. >.> But here's what I have to say on the subject. Spoilers ahead, as usual.

First of all, that was such a sad scene when Ed went to dig in his mother's grave - then lied to Al about it. Also, Izumi didn't knock him out, so I'm assuming she understands how serious the situation has become.

Second of all, has anyone noticed the fact that Envy seems to come up a lot in the new opening? I have a feeling he'll have a role yet. Usually, the stronger a role a character has, the longer they appear in the opening.

About that whole thing with Dante's stone - To clarify, Dante had the same small stone Hoenheim made 400 years ago, but she went through so many bodies that she used it up and wanted a new one. This brings up a point - perhaps that stone wasn't complete either? I mean the stones the military was using did their job without being complete, and that only meant they didn't last long. Perhaps the more lives that are put into a stone, the longer it will last, but a truly complete one will never exist?

Also, I've been wondering about Lust for a while - she wants to become human, right? But a human is a body, mind, and soul, right? And Lust is just the body and mind. That means all she needs is a soul, but if she just got some random soul, she wouldn't really be herself. Now that got me thinking... Lust was the only homunclulus who remembered any of her past as a human. Those memories... aren't they a person's soul? (Tucker was saying something about that before.) So what I'm thinking is that if Lust regains her memories, she might become human on her own. And if the stone can be used for that... and the homunculi became human... Wouldn't that be a complete human transmutation? This is REEEEAAALLY far-fetched, but maybe, just maybe, the anime will have a really happy ending, if you know what I mean.

Anyway, Envy really hates Ed for being related to Hoenheim. I guess Hoenheim really did create him, but Dante promised to make him human? Maybe Envy was Hoenheim's original sin, which was why he didn't need a transmutation circle. If that was the case, maybe Hoenheim was dying from having lost a part of his body, and the reason he wanted the stone was to save himself, and Dante, being his lover at the time, wanted to help. After all, Scar didn't die from making the stone. He was missing two arms and had multiple gunshot wounds. You saw the bloody imprint he left on the wall, right?

Also... Not sure if this discussion took place already... but what's with Rose and the baby anyway? Is it HER baby? I thought her boyfriend died. Was she pregnant then or something? Or is it someone else's kid she's taking care of? Anyway, the comment Dante made about Rose fitting in her dresses made it a bit plain that she wanted Rose's body.

I guess those are my main thoughts at the moment. That, and just what was up with Winry suddenly asking to braid Ed's hair??? XD

I tend to think that Rose got harrased and rapped by the soldiers, otherwise she wouldn't have lost her voice for awhile... a good candidate would be the general. Wouldn't his family be supprised that they have a new child?? ph34r.gif

I dont mean to doubt you, but that makes no sense.

Ive NEVER heard of an anime with only 51 episodes (unless its in the US and something gets cut).

Perhaps they will do 2 episodes on the last day?
