Well, I can't deny that it's been improving lately, but usually you're just careless with it. Just ignore me. I know that I'm a hypocrite about it, but it's a pet peeve of mine.
WhiteMike
hey, she said it's improving, thats a nice comment.

@FMA JPD: That's pretty interesting. Do you live in New Mexico by any chance? biggrin.gif

I think the only real evidance that there is intelligent life out there is the fact that they haven't made themselves known to us...but yes...I think there is more then just us in this large universe ^.^.

Possible proof of 'life' outside of our planet.

The red rain in kerala.
new cell type found after meteor 'flash event'
these cells replicate, but they don't contain a nucleus. They can't confirm if DNA is present in these cells either.

Pretty damn amazing IMHO.

There has to be aliens out there... They say that the Universe has no end, so we can not be the only intelligent life-form out here. And all those stories and pics of aliens, are we going to say that they all are mad or it's just a coincidence? Think not...

I believe...

I've read some books about them and encounters of people getting adopted by aliens.. Maybe they exist, somewhere in the universe.. Is their presence scientifically proven yet?? blink.gif

So I guess you don't belive in air or me then. I mean you can't see either can you?

In a universe this big there must be atleast some form of life out there. Even simple cells would do.
No_One
Well, I guess I believe. Aliens scare me and you can't not believe in what you're afrade of. Can you?
But if there is life out there in this unfathombly endless univerce I don't think they would look anything like us. It all goes back to those prababilaty equations so if everything was right for their exzistance the odds of them being even remotly humanoid in very slim.

BTW: I don't believe those abduction stories.
The majority of UFO encounters were reported during the time E.T. and Close Incouters of the Third Kind hit theators. rolleyes.gif
Lone Wolf
Yeah, I believe in aliens... They come over our borders almost every day! laugh.gif

^HA HA! tongue.gif

anyway, yes i believe in aliens. to think we are the only living things out there is just ignornt dry.gif

now weather or not they have actually been here... eh, i don't think so. im not convinced by crop circles. mabe a couple are real, but otherwise just alot fun to look at smile.gif

another thing is where they are. like when we sent the robot to mars, we saw the planet had no water and said it couldn't support life. well that just means WE can't live there but mabe the planet supports a different kind of life, one that doesn't need water because they evolved a different way. (now if you don't believe in evolution, this does nothing for you dry.gif ) anyway, i just thought that was a good point to make
Popogeejo
Actually there is water on mars. it has Ice caps and evidence that there were Rivers. in theory if we sent all our excess Co2 there it would warm up the planet and melt those ice caps. maybe then Mars cuold support life.
Chiyo
Bacteria at least, or so I believe I've heard. Otherwise I don't think there is much out there, nothing like a civilised society anyway.

Do I believe in Aliens? *thinks* No I don't...I think they don't exsist

So you think that in the entire universe, with its hundreds of billions of stars and trillions of planets circling those stars, the earth is the only one that holds intelligent life.

Hookay... whatever you say. rolleyes.gif

but aliens aren't some story made up to scare / interest little children.

anyways I've already posted about the red rain of kerala and how that could be extraterrestial life...
but the post gets ignored. c'est la vie.

hmmm... I think that with the universe being so unbelievably huge and all, the chances are so small that we're the only ones.... yup. I believe in aliens.
Packy
I believe in aliens... I think that they're like the Predators from the Pred movies, or the Aliens from the Alien movies... I'm hopeless, I know...
Nepharski
Do Alien's exist? Perhaps, but I doubt they're any better than we are. Earth has existed for ages, as has our population, and we find ourselves today in a world of politics and borders, and some of said borders included rather high fences and barbed wire. If there is any alien life out there, I doubt they're in much better condition than we are, so it'll be awhile before any of us run into each other, I should think.

Whenever you see a space movie, all planets seem to be united into one giant super-nation. I find that idea somewhat improbable, given our own state of affairs.

Or perhaps, to quote the brilliant philosopher Calvin:

"Sometimes I think the surest sign of intelligent life out there, is that none of it has tried to contact us."
Vash_the_Gunslinger
Do to my religious beliefs, I don't believe in aliens because God never made aliens on any days during creation.

Thinking outside the box, I still don't think aliens exist. It would be cool to have aliens though.
Edamame
I believe that life on other planets in our universe is possible, but I believe that these lifeforms are most likely simple organisms that will never reach the complexity of humans. (There was that discovery about the ice-caps on the planet Mars.) However, there are numerous solar systems that will most likely never be explored that could possibly contain intelligent life. I don't want to simply dismiss the idea of lifeforms more intelligent than human-beings, but I do not believe that they exist in our solar system.
Roy Jr.
I believe in Aliens but I don't go for the "E.T." image.
There may be some kind of flora or fauna.
Even microorganisms at the least.

My point is, the universe is simply too big too just accomodate one living planet.
AMAG_Chic
I agree mostly with everyone who said that the universe is too massive for there to be one inhabitable planet. I do believe that there are other intelligent life forms, who haven't or may not be able to make themselves known yet. Yet, as ROY JR. mentioned, I don't think that they would look like E.T. or any other sci-fi movie. smile.gif
HalfAsian Alchemist
There is most definately life out there. If you think about it, the universe is made up of the same materials, everywhere. So, unless there was a miracle or freak accident or something, there will be life. The only reason we haven't found it yet is due to the fact that we only really recently begun the search (I know that 60-ish years may seem long, but in the cosmic time scale it's not), and due to the limitation of lightspeed. Most systems we are observing are millions of lightyears away, meaning any signal sent by us, or to us, provided the aliens are not so advanced that they discovered hyperlight technology, would arrive millions of years in the future. An entire senitent race could come to rise and fall in that time. But, there is life out there, somewhere.
InsaneFangirl
Maybe some sort of microscopic being, but not a full body. No. In the future, it's possible. But without oxegen, or water...how can anything bigger then a speck of sand survive?

So you know for a fact that:
  • There isn't any oxygen out here,
  • there isn't any water,
  • That other types of life need Oxygen and water.

It's entirely possible that aliens could require totaly diffrent things to survive.
AMAG_Chic
Let’s say that we do find strong evidence that life can be supported outside our planet or that there are intelligent beings living somewhere in the universe, would it not tremendously affect religion and people’s view on God? If so, please explain why?

I’ve been thinking about it for awhile now, and I would love to hear someone opinion on this. smile.gif
Popogeejo
I don't think it would affect religion much. I don't recall a pasage in the Bible saying:
"Man did ask the Lord "Father, hast thou created other life on other planets?"And the lord did speaketh unto man "Dude, we are totaly exclusive. I'd never creat somone else" and thusly it was setled."

I'm pretty sure it would have been up to God as to whether he creates any other life. Religon will find a way to rationalise anything given enough time.

Ofcourse this is just the opinion of a non-beliver so it don't really count.
Bluewish
No....I dont really believe there's life on any other planet out there.
ed_drink_your_milk
I guess i have to say that I want to beleive that there is another planet out there that can support life, because right now, we are on the road to destroying this one. I beleive that there is another life form (but not a movie life form) some where out in vast space, but I don't think that we will ever find it.

What really happened in an east bay off Maury Island, over Puget Sound, near Tacoma, Washington? For most of the UFO researchers it was nothing more than a hoax story arranged for money and fame. Then next question is WHY so many people, related to the Maury Island Incident, died soon after...?
