Okay, who likes Envy's english voice? It's alright, but....don't you think they could've done better? I mean...really. I'm sorta in Envy-hate-mode at the moment due to a spoiler I ACCIDENTLY read, but...yeah. Do you all like his voice? (yes, HIS voice)

I hate Envy's voice in english. It is way too feminine. That's why people think Envy's a girl, in Japanese, you can really tell Envy is a he! (well, to me)

It's horrible and makes my eye twitch whenever I hear it. Last weeks episode was painful. I agree with Toby on the sixty year old smoker thing only I was thinking aged lounge lizard sitting around smoking and drinking cocktails, but that's just me. I liked the orginal VA because when Envy got angry he sounded like he would just snap at any minuite and as last weeks episode proved the US VA just couldn't step up to the plate. I didn't believe Envy was pissed off for a minute.

In english, he just sounded... defiant and mildly miffed.

Exactly. Or when he started with the whole "I'll never forgive you, you carry that bastards blood" and his eyes started quivering, in the sub I though he might start tearing Ed limb from limb. I was sure he was going to have complete psychotic breakdown somewhere in the series.

Envy voice sounded so of that it almost made my ears bleed. His voice was so unmasculing it made the guy from Rush sound like Arnold Swarzenager. He voice actor can't emote for crap either. This is also wierd cause usally the JApenese voices are always higher. They killed GLounotony to. I can't spell for crap so please don't point out my rampamt speling mistakes.

Hey, now, Gluttony's voice isn't that bad! I think he (Chris Cason) did a great job on his voice. I mean, if you were to play a fat stupid guy who was hungry all the time....I admire ANYONE who would play him.

And as for Envy- his voice can be good AT TIMES but....I mean...you know, they could have done better. *pats Envy absent-mindedly on the hand* Poor Envy.

I disagree about Gluttony. He's more than just a stupid fat guy who eats things. While he definitely dosen't have all that much dramatic depth, he has a disturbing and yet endearing childlike quality to him that is killed as soon as the dub turns him into a gnome.

They tried to make gloutony sound menacing, he isn't sopused to sound menacing. He is sopused to sound like a retarded seven year old. That the apeal in the original. You have this evil litlle kid type thing that actually was cool. Now you have the evil leprechuan from tose god awful killer leprauchuan movies.

His English VA is horrible. I haven't seen Envy in the dub in ages but it just....sucks. Tobi, lol! 60 year old female smoker!! XDD Yeah, they definitely lost the feeling in his voice though.

The 60-year-old comment is almost exactly what came out of my mouth after hearing Envy's dub voice for the first time. Although he sounds more like a 60 year old female pervert, in my opinion.

I love Envy's voice! He's played by Wendy Powell who also plays Kyo's mom from Fruits Basket. Envy is cool!

I think Envy's voice is a bit to feminine but I can't think of anything better so I'm happy to let it slide.

Envy's French voice is sexy. (But Roy's French voice= teh ultrasexx) The French dub is kinda cool, even with the stuff they change. (Al calling his brother by his given name makes my heart hurt.)

Mustang's french voice? Huuuum...*tries to remember it* AH! Yeah! Not bad, sounds a little too young for my taste though, but better than the english version, at least to me. And yes, Envy's french voice is awesome XD (Though it's hard to believe him and Ed have the same seiyu...)

About his english one, well, it's not bad, no need to make such a fuss about it, I believe. Though it could have been better, I admit.

No, definatelly a big NO. He sounds like my Grandma early in the morning. ( talking about the english dub again) I know he's supposed to be androgyn and all, but a bit less femine wouldn't hurt anyone.

Megumi/Miyuki? does a better voicing for Envy, heck, most of the voice actors who do FMA are really women. Envy, Lust...this may come to surprise, but Ed and Al are woman-voiced.
Back to the point, the voice is pretty good at times, but sometimes it misses the mark or the tone isn't right with the event. A few times it can be good, others...

Well, when I first heard it I was like "OMFG...what have they done?!?!?!?" It made me want to shoot myself (well, not really, but you know what I mean). But now I'm used to it.

I think his english voice rocks! I mean, seriously, think about it, for the most part he really has only the vaguest idea of what he was - male vs. female, I mean - just look at the way he dresses! So, all things considered, I think it's a great dub! Hey, has anyone else noticed how the English dub is almost matched better with the lips than in the original Japanese?
