In the last episode when ed is killed by envy al uses the stone and his own soul to preform an atcual human transmutation but also sacrificing his soul aswell, therefore it took all them human souls just to revive one human, to step on the toes of God. i wont get any futher into it because i would be giving alot away to people who havent seen the movie but what ive just said contridicts what ed does after hes brought back
