I don't know....it all depends on wich company picks up the rights....I think Funimation will be responsible for the movie since they already did the series. And since the series was out here pretty quickly after the series ended in Japan, I would say that we could see a dvd of it around Christmas since it comes out in Japan in July, but that is just my speculation.

As far as the movie goes, there seems to be several walls. There's the wall between our world and the Alchemist world. Then there's the wall between Ed and our world. Ed cannot integrate into our world partly because he refuses to allow himself to integrate, same as the way he is conflicted towarlds Alphonse Heiderich and cannot fully accept his kindness and help. Knowing Bones, it will probably be bittersweet. Perhaps the brothers decide that each will remember the other in their heart, and that will be enough. Perhaps Ed would decide to remain in our world with Alphonse Heiderich and break down the wall between himself and the people of our world. To him, his old world is paradise. Perhaps he needs to learn that paradise is not a specific place, it's what one makes of the place one is already in.

LoL... I could always go down to BONES itself with my sashimi knife, or threaten my lecturer with an axe to tell what's going on in the movie (she's a freelance animator, hired by BONES for the FMA movie :o) but I'd land my a$$ up in jail :P and won't be able to do a summary when the movie comes out ^o^

Hey, I had an idea. Everyone seems pretty confused by Al H.'s comment about believing his brother was alive in the trailer. I originally assumed it was just creative editing and it was actually Al E. saying it, but what if it was Al E. saying it in Al H.'s body? Since Ed wound up in his counterpart's body when he went through the gate, it stands to reason that, if Al finds the gate, manages to get through it and gets separated from his body as Ed did, then he would end up in Al H.'s body. Oooh, more craziness.

I think Al's "new look" is very interesting from a character point of view. It's as if he's so afraid of someday giving up or forgetting Ed that Al makes sure to remind himself of his purpose and his brother every time he puts on his coat or ties back his hair.

His expression is also very interesting. I think the reason that he looks more like Ed is because he's gone from sweet and innocent to very determined to help his brother (much like Ed always has been). In the series, his innocence often made him take unwise actions (like trying to stop Martel from killing, or throwing away his mother's bones), because in his innocence he was convinced in the existence of a better way. But Ed's not around to try to shield Al from all the dirty work anymore, and I am hopeful that Al's solitary quest to get his beloved brother back will sharpen Al's edge, so to speak.

Also, since that's Ed's coat, Al has gotten rather tall. Granted, Ed was always short, but proportionally speaking, Al still looks pretty darn tall for what's supposed to be a twelve-year-old body. Maybe his body's trying to catch up to his real age. If only he could get his memories back...but then, if he had those back, he'd probably already know how to get across the gate, and we wouldn't have a movie.

That, or Al H.'s big brother was the one that got hit by a Zeppelin, and no one sent Al H. that memo. Do you think Ed will actually call Al H. "Al?"

well that seems unfortunately probable. unfortunately because i still hope that the movie will lead elric brothers towards reunion. i mean, it's true, for ed his paradise is his own world. but on a second thought, he doesn't belong to our world. he never will. because he knows that somewhere else is his own world. and no matter what happens, whoever he meets, if they resemble someone he's known he'll always think about his home. that's my opinion. although it is possible that bones will try to break our hearts by separeting brothers forever

well the reasoning is unknown. according to the page they may want to refresh the series just before the movie as well as get new fans. but it's absolutely impossible fot it to end before 23rd of july if it's aired weekly (the series has 51 eps so it take a whole year to broadcast)

Hmm... has anyone else thought of the fact that Al cannot remember anything after they tried to transmute their mother. So... he has no idea that the look he now has is a replica of Ed's look because, in his memories, Ed never looked like that.

Yeah i did notice that, but a lot of people haven't soo thanks for pointing that out, coz it was bugin me that everyone was thinking that Al was a copycat, but he is not.But then again, i've seen the movie trailers and it looks like he has a an automail, but who knows we just have to waith for the movie.
