Ok, it's official. Something is definitely wrong with me. The first episode from the Season 2 section I downloaded was ep. 38... Yes, the episode. "A Very Digi-Christmas." The episode I so desperately wanted to block out is the second episode I wanted to download. *big sigh*

But for some reason, rewatching the episode didn't seem as painful as listening to that 02 Valentine's Day Drama CD. (I'm still afraid to re-listen to it and take down what was actually said.)

Hmmm... good point. And yes rivals do tend to become good friends.. or friends become rivals . And yes, I did get the feeling that Taichi and Yamato understood each other a lot better at the end even thought at the beginning they actually didn't. But maybe their rivalry did teach them a lot about each other .


I also figured that the football team had to be co-ed. I mean at that age boys and girls can be quite even and it wouldn't be too odd to have them playing together in elementary school. Anyhow..it would also explain the good friendship between Taichi and Sora. I guess you tend to be pretty close to your team mates. .

Somehow.. Yamachi sounds too funny . But actually it could probably go either way. I just like my favourite to be more dominating.

Hmm.. I think Taichi is smiling a little bit... I mean he isn't as overjoyed as a few others, but he seems happy. Anyway the most pysched seemsto be Agumon and that makes up for taichi (weird logic )


Yeah! I love the "group thing" with Taichi, Ken and Daisuke . Anyhow the main focus is on them .

Heh.. I actually have happened to download the "Earthquake of MetalGreymon"
It's the German dub though.. I have the chance to download those eps if I want too.. and yeah I prefer them to the English one. While they do translate the names(ugh), they keep (as far as I know) the script matching the original one, no edited scenes and the original themes (translated). If I could find subtitled Japanese eps, I'd be overjoyed but the German is pretty okay... and I have the need to see at least a few eps again .

Wow, gosh what "evidence" for Sorato! I agree with Kasumi, the most likely is the part when Yamato saves Sora from the darkness.. At that point even I was thinking.. (but that was only because I knew about Sorato at that point.. )

;_; I don't know why I wanted that episode so much... That's why I said there was something wrong with me! Ok, maybe I do know... If the animation was done a little better and that part wasn't included, that episode could easily be my favourite ep! I loved the voice acting, the random jokes (I don't mind the jokes too much, because most of the time, they were cute and funny), and basically how this episode played out. The portrayal of the happy and tense moments were done amazingly.

@Kihaku: More often than not, the dub explains more than in the original... On the surface, anyway. It's just their way of making up for the dialogue lost to their one-line jokes. This way, not too much would be lost in the meaning and the feel during the dubbing and all the while, fitting the lip movement!
Of course, I'm not saying the dub is perfect. There are many little jokes they could do well without. But compared to most other dubs out there, Digimon is well beyond being just a "decent" dub.

Hm... I'd like to believe Taichi and Sora were close friends not only because they were teammates, but because they met when they were 7? (or whatever age Taichi was when he witnessed Greymon and Parrotmon battle.)
It's still pretty rare for football to be co-ed, even at that age. *shrugs*

Taichi as uke? Come on, Taichi is the seme of this series! (To me, Taichi as uke is like saying Roy is the uke.)

Taichi seems more troubled to me than smiling. Maybe that's just me...

Again, I have to say something is wrong with me. I find every little Daikeru "hint" so very amusing. I'm not a supporter, but I can't help but take a mental note or laugh at those little moments.

The film hinted at Jyoumi? How come I don't remember? Anyway, it was when the group split up during the Dark Masters arc that made me like Jyoumi. (as well as getting to know Joe better.) Joe, out of the 8 children, is the least appreciated in the fandom. It isn't fair.

Yes, it was painful. ;_; Like an old wound re-opened. It was hilarious in the beginning though.

The whole thing starts out with Daisuke being excited about Valentine's Day. Then he explains to Chibimon what V-Day is. After that, the both of them head off to find Yamato. There, Daisuke asks Yamato to teach him how to play the electric guitar (to impress the girls). Yamato gives him the guitar and Daisuke proceeds to singing out of tune for a few minutes. Finally, Yamato steps in and tells him to stop.
Yamato: I think it's better for you to give up. (I was rolling with laughter at that one.)
The next target for Daisuke is... Koushiro! (Wow, this must mean Koushiro is pretty popular. XD) However, Daisuke and Chibimon messes up one of Koushiro's inventions, resulting in the two of them being literally kicked out of the apartment by Koushiro and Tentomon.
Chibimon: I've never seen Koushiro so angry before. (I feel sorry for Koushiro instead of Daisuke. XD)
Then, Daisuke runs into Takeru and Ken on the street. I do believe Daisuke asks the both of them about Valentine's Day (maybe asking for advice?) which results in Takeru's "No matter when, we always like Daisuke-kun." (Memory is a bit fuzzy about that part... All except Takeru's quote. XD)
Daisuke seemingly suddenly got an idea and runs off. Ken's worried at the "idea" that is going through Daisuke's mind.

And that ends track 1. (Note I left out the girls conversation where the whole Sorato thing was... I don't remember much of it and I certainly don't think I'm ready to re-listen to it. )

Hmm.. most shonen-ai is rated 16+ though (so if you're comfortable with that.. I mostly disagree with such a high rating). I guess Gravitation and Ghost! (Eerie Queerie!) are quite rocommendable. But otherwise... slashy titles would be Tokyo bablyon, X and Legal Drug (all from CLAMP, and you liked CCS, right? ), Hands Off! or Yami no Matsuei(Descendents of Darkness). Although even some of them are 16+.

That picture was seen in Takeru's view, if I recall correctly... And Daisuke was late. That's why neither of them were in the picture.

Oh and Jun knows Sora... Though Sora might not know Jun. This reminds me of all the hilarious scenes between Yamato and Jun. The best one had to be Yamato leaving Jun standing there and taking off in the van.

Don't worry, I probably would've forgotten too, if I hadn't re-watched that episode 2 weeks ago.

Dubs usually add hints that are not there in the original. Maybe because there are shippers among those who work on the dub? Who knows? The main dub added hints that I recall of Taiora was "I felt something back there, I guess it was your love shining through" and "Don't worry, I won't let anything happen to you." (And we can't forget the infamous e-mail in the movie. )
Of course, there are times where a "hint" in the original was taken away. One example is the Nanomon/Datamon episode. The original had Sora constantly calling out for Taichi whereas the dub had her worried for everyone. So I guess the dub added hints and original hints being taken away does even out.

I'd like to know why so many people dislike Sora too. From what I was able to gather, the main reason was the whole Sorato/Taiora thing. (There was a post at the Digimon community on LJ asking why Sora is hated, and I was fuming after I read the "reasons." But I won't go into that...) Really. I understand if people feel neutral towards her, but to go as far as to hate her? What'd she do? =\

@Kasumi: I think the only other name for Daikari is Hisuke...and that just sounds WEIRD!! I guess the reason I hate Sora so much is that she's just really annoying and she reminds me of my little sister, only slightly nicer. Plus I'm an avid Taito fan...so Sora can't have either of them...>.<

Digimon is pretty cool.My Fav. characters r greymon,metal greymon,skull greymon,war greymon,dark greymon,garurumon,Were garurumon, Metal garurumon,dark garurumon,seadramon,metal seadramon,skull seadramon and dark seadramon.

Most of my favorite characters from Digimon come from the the 1st Season. Like Tai, Sora, T.K, Mat, Izzy, etc.

I'd really like to know the reasons why Sora is such a hated character...(you can rant about the "reasons") As a person I don't really find her really annoying and when it comes to the Sorato thing.. well it does take two after all.. But I guess I have to admit that I used to like Sora much more before that happened.

yeah.. I also liked Ken and Daisuke as friends at first I wasn't into shonen-ai/yaoi at that time...but later when that changed I started recalling ceratin moments... It was pretty much the same with taito... although I so liked them as friends loong ago... and would refused to see them "that way" no matter what. Although when it comes to them it took me much longer to like them as a couple.. and iIstill might prefer them as friends . Kensuke was different .




Now it's just dumb? Um... just because you've grown "older and more mature" doesn't mean that you can't enjoy Digimon. And Digimon is NOT dumb. It'a a very deep and meaningful series.


Ooh.. I didn't think that Agumon was such a memorable character . I didn't think he stuck out as much as Pikachu from Pokémon... which is one of the reasons why I like him so much .

@Kihaku: Yeah it took me a while to realize that I liked Ken and Dai as a couple too, but it seems that once you get hooked on the coupling, you can't really see either of them with anyone else...or at least I can't. Maybe that's just me...it was the same with Taito.

Agumon was a pretty memorable character...he seems to be alot of people's favorite Digimon. And he's a whole lot better than Pikachu. I really hate Pokemon...

And I agree with you...Digimon is NOT dumb...I find the dubs a little cheesy because of some of the horrible puns that they put in it...but other than that it's a very good story...I wish that they hadn't ended it after Zero Two though...i wish that they had kept it going...>.< oh well *sniffle*

if you have toon disney on direct TV or Compast Digital Cable then it comes at 8:00 and 8:5(8:30)at night and Sundays on Fox at either 8:00 or 8:30. What the matter with you hating Pokemon know,Plus they said that Kids alover gave Pokemon a chance and not digimon.
I wish that children alover gave Digimon a chance too and then you won't be so misuable right know like me. what do you think the future digimon episodes would be like anyway if they bring it back sometime later in life.

heh... actually even though I'm hooked on a certain couple I could see possibilities . but it's not like that with everyone.. Well even though I like taito I don't mind taiora.. and even though kensuke is my favourite I don't have anthing against taisuke (but that's kind os one sided and I definitely prefer kensuke ).

Agumon is the favourite Digimon? yay! I abosolutely adore him! I knew he was my favourite right when I saw him (hmm.. Charmander was (and still is) my favourite Pokémon at that time.. so that might have had an effect in the beginning...). It's just that he's not such a "main character" and "mascot" like Pikachu... I find him memorable, because a great deal about his character strikes me.. with most Pokémon there isn't much depth, alothough I have to admit that they're probably "cuter".

If someone finds Digimon dumb, or stupid or just for little kids, they could explain why.. I'm getting nearly tired of having to repeat myself many times over that it really is much more than "just a kids show". Heh.. the puns in the dub can be quite hilarious but I liked the original more. Still... it was nice to see a few eps of a different version.. .

@Guest: Where I live it shows at 7 and again at 9 on weekdays (wish they'd do the same with InuYasha...). And believe it or not I actually DID give Pokemon a chance, but I really REALLY hated it after about 20 kids bombarded me with their cards saying "Wanna battle!?" And then once Digimon came out, I got hooked on it and I have just always thought it was better than Pokemon.

@Kihaku: Taisuke is such a weird couple, and I don't really think it would work. Tai and Daisuke are WAAAAY too similar...they're practically the same person! And I'm afraid that I will never like Taiora, because I simply hate Sora...>.<

Yeah, Agumon tends to be the favourite Digimon (at least from what people tell me), and among the kids at least there's good reason why. He's the Digimon partner of the "leader" of the group, and so the kids will identify with him better. I personally think Chibimon/DemiVeemon is my favourite, cuz he's so cute!!

I'm also getting tired of people telling me that Digimon is crap. I mean, people are entitled to their opinions, but Digimon is way deeper than they think it is. Alot of people can't get past the fact that the dubs were dumbed down for littel kids to be able to understand it. Some of the puns WERE really hilarious, but some of them really were for the kids. >.< But people shoudl still like Digimon, it's an awesome show!

heh... I think there are lots of differences between Daisuke and Taichi ., Their personaility is a lot similar, but I see Taichi as a much steadier keader type and Daisuke more of a goof.
Wy it wouldn't work... well mostly because it's one sided:P .. Daisuke totally worships Taichi and would pretty much be a door matt... and well.. it just doesn't seem that likely.

Hmm.. often the mainc character and in this case main character's Digimon are the most liked... I don't know how it's easier to identify onseself with a leader type.. Posssibly though.. Agumon gets more screentime and his character is more developed thus giving more depth and possibility to feel more connected to him.

Yeah...It's just so that most people who think that "Digimon is crap" haven't either given the show a proper chance or were too young to get the depth and the themes(or just otherwise didn't realise them). If they didn't despite those factors like it.. then I could accept their opinion.

My point has been made. Because Agumon is more of a lead character adn more developed, it's easier for the kids to bond with him as a character. The lead characters of TV shows are usually the most developed....thus why kids are more attracted to the leaders, adn thus why any Digimon merchandise here in the U.S. was platered with Taichi's face....*drool*

I suppose that I can understand if people have a GOOD reason for hating Digimon and can DEFEND their case, I might be able to understand their point of view (THEY'LL NEVER CHANGE MINE THOUGH!!! MWAHAHAHA!!!!! *cough cough*) But I'm willign to listen to why people hate it.

I agree that Daisuke and Taichi look a bit similar... I think there was a point in that? Also... Daisuke probably wanted to be a lot like Taichi, so he tried his best .
As a person I think Taichi resembles Takuya from Digimon Frontier ( and Yamato resembles Kouji.. also the fact that their "spirits" are like Agumon and Gabumon is interesting..).

Heh, main characters are nearly always the most popular ones, I guess Digimon isn't an exception . Funny... usually the main character is not my favourite, but it is so with Digimon Adventure... Then again Taichi (and Agumon) isn't the typical main character. .

I agree... If people can state their opinion rationally, I'd be willing to listen and understand it.. But yeah, I would still defend Digimon no matter what.

@Kihaku: Yeah, there was a point to it...and in the English dub of the movie, Kari even says that they're really similar. ALthough, they do have their differences. Taichi did think alot more rationally than Daisuke ever did.
Truthfully, I think all the goggle boys are similar, at least to some extent, particularly Taichi, Daisuke, and Takuya. I don't know much about Tamers cuz I didn't really like that season much, so I can't say much about Takato...but for the most part, they're all pretty similar. And then people like Yamato, Ken, and Kouji are all pretty similar too. I think they just went with dsome stereotype characters and elaborated on them to make them more interesting.

Yeah, typically I like the minor characters better, but with Digimon, I pretty much like them all, and the ones that I don't like, I like to hate them. But you're right, Taichi isn't your average main character...plus if you think about it, ALL the Digidestined are main characters. It's a good way to let people pick their own favourites, is to have a group of people instead of just one.

How very true! I always thought that each Digimon season seems to have "the main guy, leader & goggle boy" and his angsty rival/best friend . I didn't think the others were following the same pattern too much.. both those two were definite. Also they were very clearly "the pair" of the series (whichever way you want to see it ), whose relationship and character were most explored and delved into.
Hmm... which brings me to the next .. since there always (don't know about Tamers again...) seemed to be two main characters eg. Taichi&Yamato were the only ones who had their Digimon evolve to mega, Daisuke and Ken were the only ones whose Digimon fusion reached a higher level and I don't know yet about Takuya and Kouji... but I believe they're the only two who fuse???? (haven't finished watching Frontier).
But yeah... especially in Digimon Adventure all the characters have their part to play and could be considered main characters, although some characters (esp, Taichi) get focused on more than others.
And definitely...(again) especially in Adventure.. with such a large group of different idividuals there seems to be a character/characters from almost anyone to identify themself with. .

You're right though, all the "main couples" of the show evolved farther or had just slightly more power than the rest of the group. And with Taichi and Yamato, they were the only of the Adventure DD's to have their Digimon Jogress Evolve (Takeru and Hikari did of course, but at that point they were part of the 02 group). I can't believe I only just noticed that...>.>

Yeah, usually it's the "leader" that get's focused on more...but really ALL the characters play a major part in the story, and none of the DD's would be able to do anything without the help of their teammates...at least not any of the major enemies anyways!

Daisuke and Ken seemed much closer to each other than the other pairs in 02... It was kind of the same with Yamato and Taichi (and they even managed to fuse in their mega forms:D).

Yeah, that's another reason why I like Digimon so much... even though some characters get more focused on than others, they all have a bigg part... not the same as maybe other supporting characters in other series have, but all of them are main characters.

@Kihaku: Yeah, I thought the Jogress would require some sort of connection somehow (besides just knowing the person). WHen Miyako and Hikari's Digimon Jogressed I was like "WHOA they have no connection to each other, spiritual or otherwise...." It was VERY strange to me....

I don't think that many of the other pairs had really much in common and I don't think that that would otherwise been able to go through it if Ken and Daisuke hadn't shown an example.. With them it was sort of natural and deeper... Like they really had a special bond. The others tried to understand each other and learn a bit more about oneanother, which later enabled them to jogress( right?), but it didn't seem to progress any further than that... (which might possibly be a reason why they wouldn't be able to reach a higher level?).

@Kihaku: I think that they didn't really understand each other until AFTER they had Jogressed. It seemed to me that, in the case of Miyako and Hikari, it was a female solidarity thing, because they were the only girls in the group, and with Takeru and Iori, they were the only ones left after that so they felt like they should have a better understanding of each other. But Ken and Daisuke's Jogress just kinda happened..it's not like they planned it or anything, and they didn't hear about Taichi and Yamato's Jogress until after they had. They were the first of the Zeo Two's to Jogress, and thus they really had something going. Alot of the fanfics that I've read describe it as having another person in your mind, like they have some sort of telepathic bond or something, adn that they could feel each other's heart beating. It might seem a little exxagerated with the other pairs, but I could see that happening with Ken and Daisuke...they're oerfectly contrasted to each other and yet so similar. It's so...*eyes sparkle* romantic! Lol, sapy jokes aside, I don't really think the others had anything like that.

Yeah true.. (I didn't mean it exactly like that though). I think their relationship was like the ones in the other seasons/series : it progressed gradually, but by the time Ken and Daisuke jogressed there already was a sort of special connection and it definitely seemed so. Yes, I can never forget that they could feel each other's heart beats! I think that was when I gardually started becoming a kensuke fan...
Hm... when you put it that way: the only two females and the only two left, it seems even less special.. and I don't suppose it is really. the main focus was on Ken and Daisuke and it seemed that the others went through it for the sake of "not being left out".. Still.. I aprreciate the fact that they tried to get to understand each other no matter the reason.
