I liked Taichi's theme from Adventure Yuuki wo Tsubasa ni shite . It's a beautiful song and I loved it as a background theme in that one ep .

"Yuuki wo Tsubasa ni shite" was okay. In fact, when image songs are used as BGM, they sound great. It gives the scene a different feel as compared to normal hopeful/battle music. Taichi's 02 image song doesn't sound all that great, in my opinion. "Atarashii Taiyou," while it doesn't sound bad, it's not something I'd have on repeat. ;;

@Coffee: Now, now, stop being dillusional. Yes, there was a dog in the picture, but that obviously was the scene where Havoc was holding Hayate and talking about "eating" him. The guy had a cigarette in his mouth. Fury doesn't smoke, last time I checked.

Yeah they just had the characters singing Japanese. It was a little startling at first. I loved the fact that they kept the background musics though. But otherwise that dubbing company was just horrible. Seriously, I haven't heard as bad dub. Ever. It wasn't that they messed up things (once an eps started in Japanese and I was like "huh someone started their job a little late"), their acting was terrible. The voices were flat and emotionless. It turned people off Digimon, really. At least the next dubbing company was better... even though they couldn't make up their minds how to translate the crest names... they kept on getting worse. Sigh, anime is so unerrated in Finland. or well, at least it used to be.

Oh yes! That scene was so very touching! I didn't know that it was Taichi's theme at first, until someone mentioned it. I just thought it was a sweet insert theme. heh, they should have had a Taichi&Yamato theme for that part , but I liked that anyway.

Oh, I liked the English dub.. what I heard of it at least . I also liked the German and the Swedish ones.
And yes, the first Finnish dub.. the voices didn't change no matter what situation.
Very nice to hear "help" or "lets go, let's go to kill them" said in flat voices... (argh the memories)
And the crests... no the new company, (who knew how to voiceact though), kept on changing them during the eps. At first they seemd okay. The same as in the English dub.. but then.. *sighs* Only Taichi's and Takeru's crests remained the same. It was particularily annoying in the last eps (although Hikari's crest was also still the same, it just changed in the second season) against Apocalymon. I would have liked to hear the "proper" translations.. *sighs*

Sorry, a small misunderstanding there! For some strange reason, I forgot North York was not part of York Region. Actually, March Break was moved a week later so it can be combined with the easter holidays. They did it so it won't be March Break, go back to school for 3 days, then go for Easter holidays. This will be how it goes from now on.

And yes... actually the time when I started liking Taiora was around the "Pyramid eps" (the latter one is my fav). It could have been seen as Taichi crying for Sora... but also that he was depressed about not having enugh courage to save her.. he was very disappointed with himself.
Anyways, while she was trapped Sora was relying on Taichi to save her . Anyhow he was the first person who came into her mind when Datamon mentioned that the kids had managed to find their way into the pyramid.
And after Taichi disappeared along with MetalGreymon she said his name wih a kin of forlorn expression(I suppose...).

I just made an interesting realization. (call me slow, whatever. ) Both Taiora and Takari (yes, the 2 most popular couples that never became canon for some odd reason) were canon in a sense that it was one-sided canon.

No doubt Taichi had feelings for Sora that went beyond friendship after what happened in "A Very Digi-Christmas." As for Takeru, "Focus" Takeru's 02 image song, couldn't have made it anymore obvious that he, indeed, had feelings for Hikari but just couldn't muster up the courage to ask how she feels about him.

And Kihaku, do you know what was actually said the in original version during that scene in "A Very Digi-Christmas?" I've practically memorized the scene in the dub (unwillingly, mind you, I just couldn't believe what I was hearing and ran the scene over and over again...) ;;

That's a rumor. Actually Sora went to visit some relatives and she came back to help fight during the battle she met Yamato and Taichi. They weren't strong enough or something, around that and a gust of wind blew (something along those lines) and she was in between Yamato and Taichi and she chose to hang onto him instead of Yamato.

Having any episode of Digimon on tape is good. I wouldn't mind having "A Very Digi-Christmas" on tape, no matter how painful it was. (because Joshua Seth did a real good job with Tai in that scene. That hesitation that turned into slight mumbling, that bit of bitterness in his voice when Sora told him about Matt, and then that soft but encouraging tone when he pushed Sora to Matt... Gah! The memory is killing me!)

@Kihaku: I know Taichi wasn't referring to Sora then, but I'd like to think of it as he was referring to both.

Well, in the sense of canon, it was just one-sided. Sure Taiora and Takari fans will say the feeling was mutual because of all the "hints." But really, "hints" are fan speculations. Those hints could be easily shot down by non-Taiora or non-takari fans. (let's put it this way, how many hints from Sora and Hikari couldn't be put to "they're forgiving and they're just caring for their best friend?") However, Taichi's feeling was made canon. So has Takeru's. There's no way around it, how they feel was openly told to the fans. Taichi was obviously asking Sora on a date, Takeru was obviously singing about how he's feeling about Hikari.

Uh, Kihaku, I think you mean the 4th film there. The 5th film was a Tamers movie. Hm... I wonder if I'll ever watch the 4th movie...?

There are actually quite a few scenes that I DO remember from 02.. but recalling certain parts is sometimes hard ( I remember the whole Taichi Yamato thing and Daisuke feeling jealous .. I loved the"friendship" ep. It's one of my faves from 02)

Well... Taichi was referring to both.. basically... since he admitted it. I mean.. there are probably many things and people that are important to him and even if he just wasn't thinking of Sora at that particular moment(which is odd, since he was going to rescue her) it was obvious that there was a strong feeling. I do count the song. The song is the biggest piece of evidence for Takari. Even without the song, there's ep. 13 of 02, "His Master's Voice," Takeru ran away because he let slip of his feelings towards her. If the "confession" was merely friendship, Takeru wouldn't have anything to fear, wouldn't be embarassed.

Taichi's feeling towards Sora could be seen as friendship in 01. (I choose to believe otherwise. ) Afterall, Sora was Taichi's best friend, it's logical to assume he was more comfortable and worried about her compared to the others whom he only met during summer camp. (Aside from Koushiro, it seems that Taichi knew Koushiro beforehand as well.)

Ah, that pic again! It's been ages since I saw it. I loved how Agumon was so much in the lime light and well.. Taichi, Daisuke and Ken(mostly Taichi though) At that time I didn't know who Ken was (I knew a little of the others..), and I assumed that he was girl... AND that there might have been something between him(in my mind "her") and Daisuke(or Taichi) Didn't notice Miyako hanging on him though.. (just now when I looked closer).

No, Taichi didn't know Yamato before summer camp. That much I'm sure. I vaguely remember Taichi going "A friend at summer camp taught me how" when Hikari asked him where he learned how to cook. (Have to check that episode to make sure though.) Also, Taichi didn't seem to know Yamato all that well in the beginning of the series. (For one, he didn't know the situation between Yamato and Takeru.)

Taichi and Sora, however, has been in the same class even before they moved to Odaiba. (After witnessing the battle between Greymon and Parrotmon.) So there's no doubt that Taichi and Sora met when they were little kids.

Koushiro and Taichi...Well, they're definitely not in the same class because Taichi is a year older than Koushiro, but the fact that Koushiro's mother seem to know Taichi (and Taichi's mother seems to know Koushiro) it gives out the fact that they know eachother before summer camp.

I don't blame you for mistaking Ken as a girl... If I saw that pic before I saw 02, I'd think he was a girl too.

Yeah.. I remember that the other children were wondering about the relationship between Yamato and Takeru.
But I sort of believed that Yamato and Taichi did become very close (and best friends). That when Yamato returns to Taichi's side while he was getting beaten up by Piamon and using his crest of friendship to "revive" Taichi and WarGreymon proved it... (gosh.. that's one of my favourite moments)

Yamato and Taichi became best friends AFTER their adventure in the Digital World. I was referring to the time before summer camp. The Crest of friendship reviving Taichi and Agumon was my favourite moment too. And don't forget how Taichi believed in Yamato!

That was actually the Odaiba school football (soccer) team. But they all went to the same school (except Takeru) anyway.

No, the kids were originally living in Hikarioaka (sp?) where they witnessed the battle. They were coincidentally living in the same apartment as well. But after the battle (which the world labelled as the "Tokyo Terrorist Bombing"), their parents thought it was unsafe to stay at where they lived, so they all (again coincidentally) moved to Odaiba. (Except Takeru)

I was quite surprised when I first saw that Taito pic as well... And is it just me or does Taichi look uke-ish in that pic? *cough* And yes, it can't get much more suggestive. There's actually no doubt in my mind that it was for Taito fans.

Yes, Agumon's entire speech was very touching. After the pie comment, he goes on about how he fights, but he fights for what he believes in. Every life has meaning, he (Blackwargreymon) just needs to search for it. (Can't remember the exact words at the moment...)
And I can't forget this quote: "Where would Tai be without me?"

Yamato struck me as a loner in the beginning, so I don't think he had many friends before the experiences in the Digital World. Rivals tend to end up to be really good friends. I think it has something to do with the fact that people understand their rivals better than anyone else because you're always competing with them. It's the way it is with rivalry. Whether it is done conciously or not, one tends to pay more attention to their rivals.

The football team was probably co-ed. Although I've never heard of a co-ed soccer team, but who knows?

Did anyone else realize Taichi is the only one not smiling in that pic? (is referring to "couples" pic.) Ok, Yamato isn't really smiling either, but at least he looks comfortable. Taichi, however, looks like he doesn't know where to stand and...His expression just shows his awkwardness... (I am not speaking in the Taiora view... It's the truth.)

On a taiora site, I read it was from "Digimon: The Movie" as opposed to the beginning of 02. But it doesn't matter... It was a dub addition anyway. (Even though Digimon is one series where I respect the dub.)


Ok, I'm feeling nostalgic... I want to hear Joshua Seth as Tai again!!! And Michael Reisz as Matt... (If you guys can't tell by now, I loved Tai's voice... I nearly jumped when I heard Joshua Seth's voice and ran to the TV, thinking it was Digimon or something... Only to find it was Duel Masters. That was the last time I heard his voice... ;_; I've heard Seth as 3 different roles, Tai was definitely the best.)
