Takato and Juri will most likely end up together anyway, so no worries there. Besides, they were still kind of young at the end of the series.

What really went down the drain for me was takari. It remains the only couple in my history which I find myself asking, "What in the world made me such a rabid fan for THIS couple?" I just can't see them together anymore.

Okay, firstly.. always remember that the only two seasons I've seen from Digimon are Adventure and 02 . So my knowledge of the other two seasons are like... well based on a few eps from Frontier and one ep from Tamers. Oh and the films of course (although I don't remember that much from them) I'll probably be able to see frontier (in fact I'm watching it).. but I doubt I'll ever see Tamers. *sighs*. It's funny, I've just been thinking about Digimon and how different, but similar the seasons are. yeah, Tamers seems to be.. different in many aspects.. like not giving me the chance to pair up the main guy and the angsty guy... but yeah, if there are 8 main characters.. who knows (that is if I might get the chance to see it)

And.. since you were talking about pairings anyway... Darn, on the Tamers part I can't say much.. becuase I don't know those characters. Only Takato/Jenrya I just know three characters and I don't like Ruki, so...
Oh, and the urm... we were watching random Digimon frontier eps and even though I didn't want to watch them yet, because I don't want to be spoilt I just had to see the fusion.. *sighs* So very... yaoi I'll be surprised if you don't guess my favourite pairing from that season.

Anyway, I don't know why. I used to be a crazy, rabid Takari fan who stood up for this couple even after the last episode aired and Takari didn't happen. I remember encouraging a few webmasters who wanted to close their takari websites because they were dejected that the couple they truly believed in didn't happen. (I managed to convince one webmistress)

Kihaku's favourite pairing in Frontier has to be... *drum roll*... TakuyaxKouji! (Am I right? )

I'd be happier if they didn't show that kind of ending in 02. They can show what happens to each of them a few months after they restored the Digital World instead of showing them all grown up.

Hey, Takari could have happened... It's not like it was proved or anything.. but there wasn't exactly proof that it didn't happen. Although... there seems to be something wrong with how everything turned out.. those "meant to be couples" like Hikari&Takeru, Ken&Daisuke and Taichi&Sora didn't happen. And some crack pairings did.
Those animators messed with our minds.
Yeah.... at first I thought that the ending would be great.. to see everyone grown up.. but it was pretty disappointing. yeah.. and 02 was disappointing too in that sense *thinks of the Christmas ep*. For me.. there was at least Kensuke .
But since it's a sequel we can think of it not being actually part of the original series. We're getting desperate aren't we?

Heh, exactly My fave pairing from Frontier is TakuyaxKouji (you got the seme uke thing right too). Now... there is a possibility (and I'll be watching for more proof)... since there's no darn "ending".. I think, plus it seems to be even more hinted than Kensuke... I heard from reliable sources (non yaoi fan) that Takuya/Kouji is a big part of the series *happy dance*.
I wonder if I'll end up liking it more than Kensuke though...

TakuyaxKouji is very similar to TaichixYamato. So if you think TaichixYamato played a big part, then TakuyaxKouji played a big part too, but if not, then no. (I'm a TakuyaxIzumi fan, so there might've been things my brain chose to ignore. )

Sorata was way too forced in 02... If it had happened somewhat naturally (like we had seen something develop between them) then MAYBE I can accept it, but no, from 01 to the movie, it was always Taiora. Then BOOM, Sora declares she likes Yamato. Wha? (Yeah, I'm still trying to get over it.)

Sorato was like... "huh?". I can't really think of anything better to explain it. There was just... no point. Sure, maybe the creators didn't delve into the whole process, but it just makes it so... unlikely.
Yup, I'm sure (well not really, but anyway..) that I could have at least accepted it, if it had happened gradually.
As for Ken and Miyako. Miyako did like Ken.. but that became so irrelevant later.. it seemed like she had gotten over it. Ken didn't notice Miyako.. in fact he only noticed Daisuke , although he was on good terms with the others too.
How that relationship happened.. I don't know... But yeah.. there were many years in between.. still...

I thought Takuya/Kouji to be a lot more like Ken/Daisuke .. but well actually all three are a bit the same... Mostly in the sense of the pairing (leader/angsty guy) and how they just can't be ignored.. When I wasn't a shonen-ai/yaoi fan I considered their(Taichi/Yamato & Ken/Daisuke) relationship sooo beautiful (and assured myself that they were just friends... even though it looked a little suspicious). Yeah, I actually felt that TaichixYamato (at least in friendship sense) did play a big part... a bigger part than most relationships. yes, even more than TaichixSora, even though I was a bigger fan of that.
Heh, actually I think that JunpeixIzumi would be cute .

Kouji suffers the same thing Yamato does. His parents are divorced, and he hates his father for it. In this sense, the problems Kouji faces are almost exactly the same as Yamato. And Takuya is the Frontier version of Taichi, so nothing needs to be said about that. That's why I think TakuyaxKouji is more or less closer to TaichixYamato than KenxDaisuke.

And yeah, Sorato really didn't have a point to it. At least for Taiora, they've always been close friends and we had the "Taichi is guilty for not having enough courage, Sora worries for Taichi..." Those kind of stuff. Taiora would've added something to the plot, Sorato did not. It seemed to me the whole point of Sorato was to see the matured!Taichi. Bleh.

JunpeixIzumi would be cute, except, I wonder just how long can Izumi stand Junpei's habits and advances?

I don't really mind JunpeixIzumi there is a lot of hate in the couple though. I could accept Sorato if it was evident from the beginning but it just happened. I think that TakuyaxKouji is closer to TaichixYamato season 4. I keep thinking of TkxDaisuke now. *hits herself*.

2. I know... Being a Taiora fan, I wouldn't have thought either. But apparently, I do. It probably has something to do with me being a big fan of Yamato as well (He's nowhere near Taichi on my list, but he's still in 2nd place) and therefore can't hate him too much. And although I'm disappointed in Sora, she's on my "cool" female anime character list, so I can't hate her that much either. Having the fact that I can't hate any of the characters, but only the pairing, the hatred is set back somewhat.
Now, I know this sounds like I hate Takeru or Hikari or Daisuke. But that's not the case. Hikari annoy me at times in 02, but nothing too serious. HOWEVER, the constant flirting between Hikari and Takeru to get Daisuke jealous was seriously annoying. Give the poor guy a break!

Digimon Adventure- Hikari. i loved her. she was teh cutest i wanted her to be my lil sis. i loved Gatomon. (i still do!) the poor thing suffered so much only to become the most beautiful of angels. ;_;

Digimon 02- Ken. like Gatomon he had it tough for so long, then found the friend he had all along. Genisis of evil made me cry.

Tamers- Lee (Henry) maybe it was his logical thinking, or maybe the huge sense of responsibility he had toward Suzichan. I also liked all the digimon. most had personallities opposite to their tamers wich added flavor to the show.

I've observed that girls being older than the guy by more than 2 years don't usually work out. It ends up being too much of a sister-brother relationship than an actual romantic relationship. (and that creates quite a bit of problems, therefore, leading them to split up.) Of course, I am aware of the fact that this is not always the case. There are always exceptions. I am merely stating why it usually does not work out and why it is generally looked down upon.

I'm not aganist the idea of shounen-ai but I'm not really fore it I can't really imagine Yamato going out with Taichi it kinda scares me. I can understand if you like them it's your thing

I wish I could say I agree with Kasumi but I just really don't see older women with younger guys. I just don't think they go togerther. I guess 2 years isn't such a big deal. If were talking decades then I think that's just kinda sick. For example let's say I went out a guy who was 27 and I was 20. That means when he was 17 I was 7. @_@ sickening thing vice-versa. It's really just a matter of taking a step back from the fandom and realize your own views. Digimon is the perfect example of that for me. I was so immersed in the fandom that I was completely blind and oblivious to the other facts. Daisuke isn't a jerk like more than half the fandom says he is. Takari isn't perfect like 90% of the fandom says they are. Yamato isn't a blond-haired demon who took Sora away from Taichi like 75% of the Taiora fandom says he is. Yet, being right in the middle of the fandom, I couldn't see any of that. I took and agreed with everything that was said. I joined in the bashing of what went against those views. And that's ultimately what made me an immature kid.
I didn't realize any of this until I left the fandom. It was the looking back that made me realize everything. And I'm determined not to make the same mistake with ANY of my other fandoms.

I have to admit I was part of the bashing to for Sorato when I found out. I got so angry, I'm still looking for answers. I'm surpsied at the number of people who hated sora and Yamato kinda of sad. If you think about it's not their fault they were put together. I'm pretty sure Yamato didn't want to take Sora either even though it looked like it he just liked her too. Though I have to say I'm being a little hypocritque here because I disliked the idea of Sora rejected Tai too harsh. It's true the fandom tends to put things as peach perfect like Ed is the best character in the world and that he is god. Exactly. I found the flirting just to annoy Daisuke really irritating. That made him also kind of hate Takeru, which wasn't really very thoughtful of Hikari. You'd think judging by her character in the Adventure season, that she'd like the guys to get along well.. but she actually made them almost hate each other.... Good thing that Ken showed up... Well the fact that Takari is perfect.. is pretty close in my mind. I mean, nothing is perfect, but their relationship is just.. so meant to be, so it just seems like that.

Yes, I also believe that it had made me more open-minded. I accept so many things now... I do think open-minded people are mostly nice...
Anyway... even though one isn't a fan, one can still support certain pairings (like I used to.. see... that was just the beginning). A good example is Prince of Tennis, that has a great yaoi fandom and pairings supported by also those, who don't otherwise really care for yaoi.

Older women and younger boys
Firstly: These are my favourite het pairings! Let's see.. how do I explain it.. Kind of like with shonen-ai. It's not something usual... mostly it's younger girl and older guy, (which I don't like for some reason)... Well, it's not just that, but anyway...
Um... let's see favourite het pairings like that.. JouxMai and IsisxKaiba from Yu-gi-oh!, SanosukexMegumi from Rurouni Kenshin, TakaraxShizuha from Cross.... Okay none of those is really that bad... but well in CCS Touya was dating Kaho when he was in junior high. For some reason I thought it was cute, even though Touya was under 16... Um, but the same series has another pairing, which my friend didn't find acceptable... She also said that it's different when the woman is the older one.
Hmm... I suppose it's because women are thought as the weaker one and since they wouldn't be the dominating person, the younger boy plays a bigger role than the younger girl in a relationship with an older man.. if that made any sense.
I used to have this limit of around 16.. but it really depends now.. anything consensual is okay... and basically if no intamacy (sex) is invloved it's not about pedophilia.

I guess we all agree that what Hikari did was out of character and harsh. She use to be so caring, she use to be so cute in Adventure she was my favourite character or was it Sora? I don't remember. I would have never imagined that Kihaku was once aganist shonen-ai but you did mention it before. I guess I have time to accept but I'm friendly I don't care if anyone talks about it. I'm not suprised there is a large Yaoi fandom for PoT it's a couple of guys are friends anything could happen, naruto has a large Yaoi fandom too.

There's really nothing more for me to say about Hikari, Takeru, and Daisuke. I think it was mainly Hikari's attitude in 02 that made me turn away from Takari.

*nods* I agree with you Kihaku. Even though one isn't a fan, one can still support shounen-ai pairings. (Afterall, there are exceptions to everything.) So far, I support 3 shounen-ai pairings (I don't think I left any pairings out...) but that amount doesn't come near to the amount of het pairings I support.

GW has got to have the largest shounen-ai fandom in anime history. (Power to 2x1!!!)

MaixJunichi is probably the only couple where I don't mind the age difference. (They don't have that much of an age difference, do they?)
Never watched CCS, so can't comment on that... But Tsubasa Chronicles looks promising.

I have nothing to say either about the trio. Dosen't really matter since I don't think Daisuke really like Hikari at the end of the series. I just realized that Mai is older than Joey(too use to dubs,sue me) but I think that's the only couple I support too. I think Mai is like 22 I don't remember it's be awhile since I've had interest in Yu-gi-oh actually a long time. Kasumi, you haven't seen CCS before? You must your missing out on great stuff. Tsubasa Chronicles is also good but I've only read the manga.

I had to admit that the "holdin hand scene" was a little suspicious but still.... Anyway.. Now that's my favourite pairing from Digimon Adventure .
Hmm... GW has a large yaoi fandom... but as for pairings I'd say that PoT has more Also it's a really fast growing fandom... yeah.. good friends are always easy to pair.. but it always helps when there are all those suggestive situations and way too many hints to be interpeted... *evil laughter*. (Sometimes PoT almost crosses the line... I keep on wondering about the actual target group)

Actually I found Touya and Kaho to be really cute together(very weird, since I totally support him with another person)... what surprised me was how his father reacted. As if it was just any girl... And in CCS there are two other couples like that... Kaho seems to like younger men.. Um.. and well Rika and Terada (10 and 27).. Okay that is really weird... but I understand the theme though. Oh CCS is really awesome! It depicts many types of love.. *sighs* I've seen the first ep of Tsubasa and that seemed good too .

Digimon is ok, i really liked season 3 & 4

i loooove Pokemon better though, i've liked it since it first came out.

I admit to liking seasons1,3, and4. I hated the second season.

The yaoi fandom is definitely growing. Then again, which fandom doesn't keep growing? Although, shounen-ai/yaoi is perhaps the fandom which grows at the fastest rate at the moment.

Heh, yeah, it would be hard to believe how much you were against shounen-ai... If I wasn't caught in the same situation myself.
I agree with PoT having the largest amount of pairings. It's to be expected though, with so many male characters in the series, and close friendship. (And of course, those "suggestive" situations you were talking about.)

O_o Mai and Jonouchi have an eight year difference? I always thought it was only a 4 or 5 year difference... Well, they get along fine though, and considering I watched YGO just for them... I'll make an exception.

I only know the difference between shounen-ai and yaoi, but not slash and yaoi. We'll have to wait for the Queen of Shounen-ai's reply to this.

Yeah, I remember that episode, it was when they were in the real world. It was very noticeable... Which says something because I usually miss out on these things. (I'm not very observant.)

Yeah, I was a little surprised when I found out that Mai and Jounouchi had so much age difference.. I knew it was quite a bit, but not that much.. it didn't bother me at all though. I probably started liking them together more

Heh, slash and yaoi and shonen-ai... Yaoi is basically used to refer to anything BL (Boy's Love) but then there are other mainly western terms that categorize it- I hope I can explain this... anyway this is how I understand it.
Um, slash would be like what's in Prince of Tennis or Yami no Matsuei (oh, great comparison ). Very close friendships, but just not there.. (darn.. YnM is basically shonen-ai though). Um.. they would be called very slashy series... and the term "to slash" is used when one pairs characters from those series with one another.. like Oishi and Eiji from PoT (although that is almost canon...) or Hero and Duo from GW.
Shonen-ai has actual relationships. Like in Gravitation (or YnM okay..okay.. maybe not then).. but it's nothing explicit. Hugging and kissing and otherwise certain physical contact (like in PoT XD) is involved. It's mainly focused on emotions and the realtionship.
And yaoi... is sex. (And that can also be divided into categories, but let's not go there ): I mean... it's actually depicted.
