I'd imagine that younger kids see the fighting and friendship as the most important themes. And I think that's good.
I personally like the character development and mental growth each individual experiences. Plus dealing with their problems, realising things, and trying to work together despite the differences and obstacles.
It is really one of the deepest serieses I've seen. I really love Digimon Adveture. (although 02 has great themes too)
yeah.. it annoys me how little kids can't see beneath the surface, but they're just kids after all. What's more annoying is having to hear from people my age and adults how childish/dumb/bad the series is. Either they've seen none of it, or seen just one/few epsisodes and think that's enough. To understand the whole concept, you can't just see a few episodes.

Taito is my favourite from the Adventure seoson... It used to be Taiora.. but well.. My ultimate favourite from both seasons is Kensuke! (yes, Taito would be my second fave I guess..)

I wonder... Is there any way I can get my hands on Digimon Adventures? I really want to re-watch the series now. Too bad the japanese version was never released on DVD... Or was it?

Best/only Koumi episode I can think of: the episode where the two of them were stranded on that...island... And then got attacked by Centarumon. (sp?)
I remember Koumi fanarts. A lot of them were really cute. The good old days of searching endlessly for Digimon fanarts.

I probably got used to listening to people my age or older talking about how stupid Digimon and Pokemon is. Yes, it annoys me to no end, but there's nothing I can do about it. *sighs*

For some weird reason, everytime I see "taito" I am reminded of Taiora, and that...Christmas/concert scene, where Sora rejected Taichi...
By the way, thinking back, Taito seemed more likely in 02 than in 01. *shrugs* Don't know why...

Anyway, have you all seen the movies yet? I've seen the first 3. I personally didn't like the movies very much, but that's just me.

yeah remember. I was wondering the same thing too.. a while back. You said that it would be pretty hard to get hold of the Adventure DVDs.. I know that is probably impossible in Finland. I remember that they released the first episodes on video a long time ago... In Germany they even had them on cassettes( I have two of those I really liked listening to them;) )
I have no idea if they've been releases anywhere.. I wish though... I would soo like the DVDs..

Yeah.. the Koumi epsisode was the island episode.. Other than that I can't remember anything either.. Taishiro was more likely..

Oh.. there were way too many Taito hints in Adventure.. especially the one when they were shot with the arrows of light and hope.. That freaked me out, because I didn't want to see their relationship that way (and I knew many people did), but now I just love the potential..
02? Hm.. I can't think of any besides that part when Agumon was captured by the Digimon Kaiser and Daisuke was jealous (welll you can interpret it that way) of Taichi and Yamato's relationship. Okay.... it was something about him not understanding what was between those two...

The first three films? I saw them as "Digimon- the movie" the American dub (dubbed in Finnish) and I really liked that..8and laughed too much) Later I watched the seecond.. Our Wargame in the original Japanese.. since they'd cut quite a few parts out.. I think I've seen 7 films...

Ooh.. I almost forgot to mention.. I finally watched the last ep of 02 on tape!
Oh gosh how the kids look like their parents.. I think it was pretty obvious that Yamato and Sora were together..*puke*...
but Koushiro and Mimi? I don't think that was mentioned.. the only pair that was 100% sure was Ken and Miyako.. *sighs*

kihaku: Yes Mikayo and Ken was offical. I didn't really see that coming but Mikayo thought he was cute 0_o. You see really see the koumi fan art there are tons of it. It's rather cute like Kasumi said. There is some evidence between them I think the 4th movie, when she comes to visit. Yah I think what make koumi fans when they were on the island together other than that I don't remember.

I like to think I'm not old yet either.. Or at least not too old for Digimon...
Bah.. As a Kensuke fan I wasn't particulary a fan of the Ken and Miyako pairing..
but I knew about that long before I became a fan so it didn't matter that much.. I know that Kensuke had much more potential anyway! So what if Miyako had a crush on Ken? That actually wasn't that obvious later in the series when Ken went to their side and spent more time with Daisuke anyway..

Well I guess they wanted to follow up with Mikayo and Ken. Who knows, but I always though that Daisuke would become best buds with TK. Since Matt and Tai were best buds. Koumi official? I've got nothing aganist the coupling but I can't see it happening I don't think Mimi likes really smart guys. Then again it could happen XD I think I'm starting to like it.

Oh yes.. exactly! Since Takeru and Daisuke would be best friends then his relationship with Ken would be deeper! Since he obviously had the best relationship of all with Ken!
But actually in my opinion Tachi and Yamato's freindship is equivalent to Daisuke and Ken's.
There's the energetic courageous leader and the angsty unsure rival .
Takeru and Daisuke were kind of rivals at the start when it was about Hikari.. but that was then.. Also Takeru has a stronger bond with Iori...

Apparently, there are still people out there who thinks Canada is one gigantic ice land and that everybody lives in igloos. =P To answer your question, yes, I do say "eh?" sometimes, but not that often.

Koushirou is sometimes too involved in his work to notice his surroundings. Mimi, on the hand, is someone who likes attention (not in the bad way. ) That's probably why Mimi wouldn't go for Koushiro... but we never know.

I wouldn't have noticed if alchemistgirl_zero hadn't brought it up. Kihaku, wouldn't you think yamachi is more likely than Taito? (taito sounds better though. )

1. Taichi is my fav. And my faves are semes!
2. Yamato is way too angsty.. he's rebellious, sure, but he submits in the end to Taichi. He is a worthy rival, but Taichi is mentally and physically stronger. There's no way that Taichi could be topped by Yamato!

Actually I didn't really like him much at first. His attitude annoyed me and he was way too angsty Hmm... it was later when I realised what a great bond he and Taichi had.. Can't remember that episode... one of the last ones the first fight against Piamon was one of my favourites.. *sighs*.

Yea, I still watch Digimon and still love it. Season 2 is by far my favourite. I loved to see the original digidestined develop. I don't really watch the new seasons, but I stick to the old and will for a while.

I wouldn't mind whether it was dubbed or original. Digimon had one of the best dubs in my opinion. I actually liked Tai's voice over Taichi's voice.
Of course, if I got to choose, I'd definitely choose the original.

I haven't given much thought to Yamasuke.. there was basically only that one ep when they saved Agumon....which had mostly Taito and Taisuke hints anyway..

Hmm.. the American dub was good, but they changed too much of the original dialogue and cut out/censored parts. Also I really like the original music at the start and in the background. It would be okay with the Finnish dub.. if the dubbing wasn't so awful..
I would definitely want the original. (I'd want it in all cases anyway)

Taichi having a female seiyuu has nothing to do with it. Paku Romi is a female and I love the way she did Ed and Ren's voice. (Speaking of Ren, whatever happened to the SK thread?)

I don't know why I prefer Joshua Seth as Tai's VA. It's probably the way he was able to capture Tai's brashful yet caring personality. Not that Toshiko-san did a bad job or anything, it's just that I liked Tai's voice better... Now, don't get me wrong, I liked Taichi's voice as well! I just like Tai's voice a little bit more.

Yes, digivices. You get to pick which digimon to be your partner (the partners you get to choose from depends of which season the digivice belongs to) and you can get into battles and stuff.
