Attachment is a 4koma the back cover of the Perfect Guide Book (Hong Kong version)... I found this too entertaining so I briefly translated it (Yea there might be error but the general idea is there)
Narration: Fullmetal Alchemist is a shounen (teenage boy style) manga.
Al: Even so... it sure lacks a lot of shounen manga components.
Al: For example: "hardworking"...
Ed: not needed. I am 100% (perfect) already to begin with.
SFX: *munch munch*
Al: "Friendship"... we don't have much friends.
Ed: Don't say it.
Al: "Companions"?
Ed: They are all old granpas. (LMAO xDDD)
Al: A really cool protagonist...
Al: But Nii-san is so short...
Ed: SHUT UP!
Ed: *sigh* Stuff such as "hardworking" and "friendship" are useless, useless (actually he said "worthless")! I am all filled up with attractiveness that Shounen manga lacks!
Al: then what are those?
Ed: MONEY and POWER! *State Alchemist*
Al: ... what a mean manga... *what about “brothers”?*

Very, very funny... Much thanks for translation, armor-alchemist!
Thought there is something to be pointed out here... like Kyo_Umerio said, there are those things in the manga. Why else would we enjoy it so much, otherwise? (Okay, maybe if you were into angst...)
Gotta love Ed's attitude... so very self-confident for one so short!

*ducks flying objects thrown by certain alchemist* Though it's also kinda mean... Roy is NOT an old grandpa!!!

That was great Armor-Alchemist! Mr bean-boy has such a nice attitude, doesnt he? lol

Ed's so great. I love the comedic side of this series! Thanx also for the translation! personnaly I suck at reading Kanji.

l0l. I think I remember this one...
But this reminds me... I was thinking maybe [if no else's done this yet] some people could scan their hagaren 4 komas [like from the tankoubans and the DVDs, etc.] And we could try translate it? -shrugs- it was a thought. I can donate the 4 komas from manga vol. 6 and the first DVD. But my kanji is bad and the 4 komas never have furigana... so I dunno how much help I'll be with translations... But... I just thought it'd be a good idea to try translate the 4 komas?

Edo needs a hug... that or more money

Actually,
did the Elric kyoudai have other childhood friends? It seems like since they were kids all the time they spent was either researching/doing alchemy and the chores like school(yes, I can proudly say that school is a chore), bringing vegetables or playing with Winry. Al must be lonely...

Yes, Ed and Al did have other friends durring there child hood, but they spent the most with Winry, who was like there best friend. They did do more than study alchemy and do chores (including school), it's just not really featured very often in the series, but is mentioned a few times. Once there mother died, however, it was mostly all work and no play for Ed and Al. They were forced to grow up fast in a way I suppose. Yeah, I'm sure Al's lonely as heck. It would suck being alone every night while every one else is asleep, year after lonely year, with no way to rest your mind, feel the things around you, or even cry. Always standing out in the crowd and being feared by the strangers around you. Not to mention the fact that he's a walking time bomb, never knowing when he his soul will be rejected by the metal armor it's attached to. And Ed blames him self for every thing that happened to Al... imagine living w/ that kind of guilt every day...

The 4Koma is funny!
I really like the last scene with the state alchemist ribbon at the bottom!
I tried to edit the words into the scan, but came out pretty bad...

LOL, yeah I suppose that is a bit ironic.

It gives me inspiration. If she can do it, so can I!

FMA is such great shonen! Who ever said shonen should only be written buy guys made an error. lol Speaking of guys, what did any of you guys out there think about the characters? Do you think the male characters are right on and act/ think like guys or do you think there too femanized? Just curious.

Possibly. Though I talked to my brother for a little bit afterwards, and he informed me that everything Roy said was wrong. Oxygen toxicity only occurs at depths (and I would like to take this moment to say that, yes, that WAS really the word Roy used; putting the Japanese equivalent into Google came up with countless Japanese diving sites), since oxygen isn't toxic above sea level. Doing what Roy is describing would take a LONG time to take effect, and even longer for it to be lethal.
Therefore, I came to the conclusion that oxygen is poisonous in Amestris. XD
