Yes, I speak from far too much experience on the subject, but you probably don't want to know about some places I've worked

But then again, they're only fifteen years old, and they're both going in completely different directions so even if they do really like each other romantically, they're just not saying anything because they both figure it won't work out...at least not yet. Plus, I think Ed really does like Winry like that, but he's gone all the time and he wouldn't want to make Winry wait for him like Trisha waited for his father. And while that may not be the primary reason why he's keeping his mouth shut (after all, he has stuff he has to do that are more important at the moment) it's still a reason.

Plus, it's difficult when you look at your best friend since childhood one day and suddenly think, "WHOA!! Since when did [he/she] become so good-looking!?" It's kinda embarrassing to admit, so better to pretend nothing is going on.

I love semi-abusive relationships (not bad abusive but, you know, funny abusive) but then again I'm a dark, odd little person like that. Fanfics are a lot more fun to write that way. There are many anime where I don't go for the most obvious pairing (Sailor Moon: Darien/Amy all da way! and Fruits Basket: Haru/Kisa rules! Rurouni Kenshin: you know I support Sanosuke/Kaoru...just to give a few examples).

I don't get why people have to reject the Ed and Winry relationship. I know it's an obvios one but come on I think it would be a good one. And I think the reason the Ed doesn't tell Winry how he feels is because he has other stuff to think about and he would be putting her in a lot of danger.

Yeah, I agree. I hope Winry and Ed will have a pairing in the movie or something since the anime is over. Or even if they do another season or something when Ed gets back to the FMA world after the movie. I think Ed really likes Winry, much like he does Al but then he just doesn't want o admit it. I reckon the bit in the manga where Ed tells Al about Scar being the murderer of Winry's parents ad he doesn't wan to let Winry know because he doesn't want to see her cry anymore. Anyway, I really like the Ed/Winry pairing and I hope it will happen soon in the movie or the manga or somewhere.

In the anime, it doesn't look like much is going on, but in the manga, it's a lot more obvious.

I think people (mainly fangirls, and mostly talking about the fangirls) reject the relationship because the girls are jealous of Winry and they want Ed for themselves, so they would do anything to insult her in any way possible/wants Ed in a homosexual pairing.

But the thing is the anime already ended and Winry and Ed never met each other at the ending. The movie is about Ed and Al, so there's no hope there. :\

Well the movie's about Ed and Al...but we can all still hope ^^ ...it's possible after the movie they could make an OVA...or maybe another season...just maybe....my hopes might be too high tho .

Reading through it again I can't see any new material brought up...I guess we are all just clinging to what evidence we have and hoping the creators make them a couple (not that I have anything against our evidence ).
