I don't think Winry/Ed is as bad at all. I know it would be awkward for them but the best relationships begin as friendships. Hey maybe I'm the only one who thinks that. It better then Al/Winry. That's just wrong on like seven levels. I mean there wasn't any hint at all of Winry seeing Al as anything other then a friend/little brother.

There was some hint of Winry/Ed in the manga and anime but admit it. I'm sure all of you would rather see Winry/Ed anyday then all this menless yaoi going around for the series. I mean come one Roy/Ed, Envy/Ed, AL/ED (and I've seen one talking about when Al was in the armor suit which is impossible), Wrath/Ed, Hughes/Roy...the list goes on. I'm sorry but there is no hint of anyone having an yaoi relationship in the whole series.

You can stretch it and say but besides that there isn't even a hint. It's just sad that people have to force the yaoi relationship on this anime/manga.

But honestly Winry/Ed isn't really forced. I admit there is more of a absolute relationship between Roy/Hawkeye but Winry/Ed isn't that far fetched. I do believe Winry loves both Al and Ed but she definatly feel a little differently about Ed.

Oh, if you think I oppose Ed x Winry, you should SEE me opposing Roy x Ed. That pairing needs to die, and it needs to die now, and it needs to die PAINFULLY. >.>

The other yaoi pairings are slightly more plausible... I'm okay with them, but I don't support them. You kind of have to read between the lines if you want to see how they work.



And as for Winry seeing Al as a little brother... that doesn't make the relationship any different than Ed x Winry, because clearly Ed isn't seeing Winry as anything other than an older sister.

Really, the pairings are based on the same idea. The reason why Al x Winry works and Ed x Winry does not is because while Ed is clearly not romantic, Al is constantly saying that he wants to fall in love, and obviously Winry isn't a lone wolf either. I think Winry could see something in Al once she realizes what his true feelings for her are - I think she's just oblivious to them.

i agree more with the guest's post -- there is a brotherly bond between the three of them, but in my view ed/winry is a lot more plausible than al/winry. really, al and winry hardly interact in the series compared to ed and winry, and winry directs most of her affections towards ed and al is sort of the third wheel a lot. there's a lot of hints at ed and winry possibly becoming more than just friends in the official art, too. i don't think that ed is clearly not romantic either; he does show affection for winry, which could be interpreted as more-than-friends as easily as it could be for just-friends or siblings.

But I don't agree that Ed isn't romantic. He kind of shut himself off after Al lost his body. Before then he was a completely different person. It does however seem like Winry has a different relationship with Ed then Al. She jokes around, I mean the arguing, and seems to talk with Ed more. She does talk to both of them but it seems like she speaks with Ed more. It can also be because of Ed's automail.

And yes I want the yaoi to die too. Don't get me wrong. I like yaoi when it warented. It's not here. I mean come on, Why is the sam hell would Hughes who worships his wife and adores his daughter have a relationship with his best friend. That's just wrong.

I knew about the triangle with Ed/Winry/Al but in both the manga and anime Winry has alot more interatction with Ed. She spends alot more time alone with him. The chapter I just read 36 in the manga

Then again, I don't really know if that's a hint or not .

Don’t compare EdXWinry relations with RanmaXAkane! There was much more between Ranma & Akane! And also there relationships were a bit more childish… But there reciprocal sympathy was much more clearer!!
Ed and Winry are like siblings! They will look very strange as lovers!
And no matter what… I think that Ed deserves something better than Winry. I don’t like the way she treats him, the only good thing she is doing – constructing and maintaining his automail. I don’t mean that she is bad herself, but she is not for Ed… he needs somebody else, I think…

i'd prolly be at a higher level now, too, if it wasnt for my stupid job always cutting into my life. ~_~ damn job. so what belt are you? and is it...karate? or...which sport? i'm in tae kwon do, heh, none of the dojos near where i live offered aikido, which was what i really wanted to continue...

shotokan karate! i got my blue when i was in fourth grade, had to quit, and didn't start up again until ninth grade. and then i kept missing the belt tests we have every 2 months, but i got my 2 stripes for blue and then had to quit again. i didn't come back for another year, but i practiced a lot on my own and my skill level was higher than advanced blue, so after the next test i got a double-jump to purple two stripes we go white 2 stripes, orange 2 stripes, yellow 2, blue 2, purple 4, green 4, brown 4, redblack, whiteblackwhite, redblackred, black 9. usually you only move 1 at a time per test, so blue -> blue 1stripe, blue 1 -> blue 2, blue 2 -> purple...but i think i was scaring the other blue belts when we sparred so i got jumped quite a bit (sensei's nickname for me is "vicious" ). and then i had to stop AGAIN because of college apps aaahhhh. so now i'm stuck at home with all this extra energy and atrophying muscle. ;___;

and yeah, if things don't work out, i'll wrap havoc in wrapping paper and mail him to you

Anyway I think Ed and Winry's relationship isn't suppose to be "obvious" you know what I mean? Like someone mentioned, they are in denial and they don't want to admit to each other or to themselves that they actually like each other. That's what I like about that pairing... I don't like straight foward pairing like.... inuyasha/kikyo, sakura/syoran (tsubasa) and etc...

I support Ed/Winry, cuz they're so cute the way they act around each other I don't imagine them to get married or go all soft and mushy around each other... then that would just ruin the pairing... X( for me anyway....

Wow r u sure wut ur doing is TKD? There's so many belts,... We have white, yellow, green, blue, red and black... with stripes in between each belt. I'm a red belt now I'm sticking to that since I dont feel like a deserve a black belt quite yet... I get too lazy and that's my punishment. Bah.

Sparring is fun We do full contact when we have our equipements on... I always sparr guys especially black belts. They're good and they make me get better. Once, I sparred a girl black belt, and went hard in the first round, and master told me to slow down a lil cuz "u dont wanna hurt ur partner" then second round, i went on the defenssive, and third round, the first thing she did was run to kick, and i countered with a jumping back kick and hit her chest and my foot slipped to her throat o.o it was scary cuz she couldn't breath and i was like "omg i could of killed her... omg.... crap..." man my lack of control.... there's another reason why i shouldn't get my black belt ... sigh. but anyway tkd is so fun

hm...maybe different TKD schools have different belt ascensions...? *shrug* cuz it's definitely TKD... heh, maybe people at my school were getting to black belt too fast so they had to throw a few more belts in there to slow them down.

i enjoy sparring, i guess i'm just more of a nonagressive person, i tend to be nonconfrontational (comes from years of working in airline customer service...if i was confrontational...with the kinds of people i deal with, i'd be a mass murderer by now... ~_~)...so i tend to take the defensive when i spar. i can almost always avoid getting a hit on me...but i don't get many hits in myself as a result... ;p

i concur! i don't care much for yaoi pairings of obviously heterosexual characters anyway...but when it starts becoming statutory or incestial, i have to draw the line and protest! that is just sick and wrong, people... brotherly love shouldn't be THAT kind of love!

I don't mind yaoi, because I pretty open-minded, but in fanfiction, sometimes it becomes very unrealistic... And that's what I hate about yaoi.

that's what i mean... most of the yaoi i find is written in a very unconvincing way between two very heterosexual characters. if you're a good enough writer, you could probably come up with a way to pair up envy and...gluttony, for cryin' out loud, and have it make sense... but that's the key...give an explanation. don't just throw two straight boys in the sack for no reason... that's just stupid. give us some background, throw in a splash of an explanation, and THEN go with it...but don't write something that makes absolutely no sense unless you're prepared to give us a good reason why it happened.

sure, roy and ed...what's not to like? two nekkid bishounen are better than one...but you'd better give me a damn good reason why roy would leave riza to go get it on with someone significantly younger and of the same gender... O_o
