That's a really great poem, DisasterPiece! I like how you can see hints of how Winry would normally act around Ed (throwing wrenches and such) to her feelings towards him. I love the line, "We laughed, we played, we cried, we laughed again," because it has a sense of nostalgia in it.

And that's a great picture, rzerox21xx!! It's good to see a little swimsuit EdxWin!: )

It has been so long before I return on internet and when I finally did it this morning, it was for knowing that my favorite couple is in a difficult situation... This isn't a great new... Why does the writer make everyone die like that ? ... It's so stupid ! I think that it has to have a good reason for doing that ! Not just because she wanted to ! ...
I had almost cry when I saw Winry saying the name of Ed just before she fall down on the ground... You can see how much she try to resist.. But in the end... She looks like dead.? I was listening to The Speed of Pain by Marilyn Manson, and in a way it sort of seems like an EdxWin song..if you've heard it then you'd agree that the bridge-outro seems to speak true to the pairing.

The last lyrics are "Hope that we die holding hands....always...."

Each time I hear that, I picture either Ed and Winry just in an intimate and sad embrace not wanting the other to let go, or them spending their final moments together one last time.

*sigh* I do want them to end up together... (something's gotta give, this is as canon as canon can get)

They compliment each other. When I think of them together I think of them in the sense that they need one another. That's why I think this pairing is important, they rely on each other. And the song just helps me re-affirm that belief.

Other than that, I just wonder how it will all play out in the end =| As long as Arakawa doesn't pull a fast one and make Ed and Rose hook up or something like that T_T

@ Forsaken Love - Heh, you and me both! (Srsly, why did a freakin' earthquake just HAVE to happen during one of the greatest EdWin-ish episodes? Grrr...)

@ Disasterpiece - I totally agree that they complement each other. They fill each other's strengths and weaknesses so well and they care very deeply for each other. Too many people look at their relationship and think "oh, she hits him with wrenches and they fight a lot. They must be in love. Whoohoo." And they don't really see the deeper side of it or think of how they've impacted each other. (Which is sad, 'cause they're missing out.)

But personally, I don't think Ed and Winry would be the type to die holding hands. That sounds a bit too melancholy for them; it would fit Royai better. (This is just my opinion, though. Not trying to shoot yours down or anything!) Ed and Winry strike me more as being the kind of people who'd fight to stay alive for each other, no matter what. That's how it's always been for them: she fixes him when he's hurt, sends him off to fight again with renewed strength and waits for his safe return. And he strives to protect her and come home to her in one piece.

Also, while I'm thinking about it, I don't think he would only want to stay with Winry. He'd also want to stay with his brother. The way I've always seen it, Winry and Al are both equal halves of Edward, and it would be impossible for him to choose between which one he loves more, or which he'd rather stay with for eternity.

Bleh, I don't even know if I'm making sense anymore...

EDIT: Having said all that, I do love myself a good dose of EdWin angst. As long as there's a spark of hope in the midst of it, 'cause that's how they roll. A couple songs I think fit perfectly for this are Fix You by Coldplay and Pieces by Red. Both are incredible songs and describe their relationship so well. I've always seen "Fix You" being from Winry's POV and "Pieces" from Ed's POV.

Ughhh I hope it doesn't come to that T_T ...well I DON'T think that issue of who Ed loves more exists...that could actually be an interesting device to foster EdxWin and Winry and Al saying it's ok for him to love other people but to my knowledge I don't think that issue was brought up in the manga (hence it's probably a given that Ed loves Al deeply.) Maybe Arakawa can work around that, or, as I have stated many many many times, that quite possibly, the series might end with the hint that EdxWin may happen anyway.

But honestly, we don't know jack until the series ends T_T

Best case, EdxWin will be left to the fans to write out thru fanfic

Well, I certainly couldn't see her ending it as a love story between Ed and Al. That's incest and just wrong. Just because you love your brother doesn't have to translate into being "in love." We are all capable of loving our significant others one way and our relatives another. There are four kinds of love after all! I can't see why Al is being left in the dark if Ed does end up in love with Winry. Al does have Mei as well.

I do think their (Ed & Winry) future will be left open to interpretation though.

EWW!! *shudders* No no no, that's NOT what I was talking about at all. Ed and Al love each other deeply, but not like THAT. Ick...

Like I said, Al and Winry are equal halves of Edward, but in DIFFERENT WAYS. I hope nobody got confused by that... xD

And yes, Al definitely has Mei. It's probably just puppy love/friendship right now, but I can easily see it growing deeper as they both get older. And it works perfectly! Al ships EdWin, and Winry ships AlMei, and Ed ships...well, he's too in denial and busy saving the world to know what he ships.

Going briefly off topic... that first one is the Official Al Shipperface IMO. xD

I think the brothers will stay close, but I don't think that closeness will get in the way. They're getting more used to being separated, but I think they'll stick together to an extent; I think they'll end up living next door to each other or something. Ed and Winry's kids will have a great time pestering their Uncle Al. Lol.

Here's how I'd envision it.

Ed's napping or something, Winry walks over, etc etc, places a kiss on his cheek, Ed wakes up minutes later sayinfg he had a dream an angel kissed her. And sees Winry and deduces that she kissed him.

Humor ensues, series ends.

Whoa, they both look like a couple of twelve year olds! The difference is so striking that it makes you think you should have reacted even back then to how kiddish they looked. Which I have no memory of doing XD Guess that frame is an extreme example, though.

As for who specifically drew the picture, the original comment the poster wrote IIRC was a bit ambiguous, so I'm not sure whether the one who drew it was a part of the staff for the first series or not.
When I first saw it, I thought it looked more similar to the manga style. Regardless, it's a very, very nice picture, one that I'm sure any EdWin and RoiRiza fan would enjoy ;p

I think a small part of me just exploded with delight. When it looks so official it's just that bit easier to believe it may just happen! Thank-you for sharing that.

to add more validility on the marriage pic, I asked Amber of deviantart(her sources are very reliable and proven true concerning news on brotherhood and what is the staff and director doing. ) about the pic and this is what she has to say.

I read the story this pic was drawn by the anime staff in Japanese domestic huge BBS, and I actually saw this pic in it.
I hardly remember in detail, but I seem that was not the anime staff's marriage but one of staff who took charge of character songs.
This pic seem to have been uploaded in the blog of character song's producer.
I don't know more than that.

Wow, that marriage pic is great! Goodness, FMA Brotherhood ships Edwinry soooooo much! I prefer them 100x more than the first anime producers. If only their art and animation could get a little bit better...ahh well, no one's perfect.

(^And I have to disagree with the previous comment...Art and animation are both superior in the Brotherhood, in my opinion. Sure, there are a few slip ups, but there was in the first anime too, and most other anime in fact. xD But best not carry this on because I don't want to end up causing some off topic row! xD)
