Anyway, I agree to you agreeing.
The anime is over; there's nothing to be done.
My concern is now, and has always been, the manga
(I already stated, I'm only manga Ed/Win fan).

I sucks quite a bit for me though, taking into consideration I'm not prone to downloading manga.
Viz is getting quicker, though.

Also, I'd like to point out that any EdxWinry haters on this thread are at constant risk of brain damage from such fans who lurk here.

actually, during chapter 48 or 49 in manga, Winry admited that she love Edward for a very very very long time~

I'd say it's Winry. That or Samus Aran. Note the two side strips of hair at the front. Samus and Winry have these, while Riza does not.

^I'm not going to predict anymore until I see the next manga. We KNOW they will have to meet up again although I'm unsure if Ed will go to her or vice-versa. Either way I think something might go wrong on the journey.

I suppose manga Ed and Al are more 'teenage minded', whilst the brothers in the anime seem to be more emo-angsty and depressed.
Downtrodden, and whatnot.
Therefore, I think that manga Edward, with all the evidence so far, will infact have something happen between him and Winry (If something doesn't happen to her first), for a short period of time (if not at the end of the series).
Not that he'll ever admit he likes her.
It's not like they'll run off and abandon Al or anything.
It is, thankfully, a Shonen series.

Again, he'll probably kiss her.
Before he dies.
Or she dies.
Or while one of them is dying.

Though, wouldn't it be interesting if Winry was turned into a homunculus...?

But not before Al is back to normal, it would be too sad if Ed died before Al got his body back. ;_; Actually it'll be sad both ways.

Most likely if this happened, she'd just join in with the rest of the homunculi.
Since it's quite obvious they like each other a tad over the friendly level in the manga, Ed wouldn't be able to fight her for a while, because of over-clouding emotions.

Also, I don't think Ed would die first.
The series can't go on without him.
If she died completely, it would probably be near the end of the series.
Edward would die in the last volume, if he does.

I don't think Arakawa will turn Winry in to a homunculus, since it would just be repeating something that happened already. But it makes a good idea for fanfic.
And I really hope they kiss or hug before something bad does happen.
(One of them is killed, kidnapped,etc)

The relationship that Edward and Winry had in the anime series seemed to mimic the relationship between two siblings. It is obvious that they both care for each other deeply, but I never viewed their relationship on a romantic level.
The manga on the other hand, delves deeper into the relationship between Edward and Winry. Whereas, their relationship in the anime seemed more like the strong bond between two siblings, their relationship in the manga seems to be developing into something more "romantic" persay. Earlier chapters in the manga play up this tension between Edward and Winry, but it is still difficult to say if anything will develop between them. They both share an incredibly deep and unbreakable bond, and rely a great deal upon each other. I think that this relationship was at its strongest in volume twelve of the manga where Winry confronts Scar and latter when she boards the train to return to Resembol. [spoiler]In one of the manga chapters Riza Hawkeye tells Edward directly to his face: "You love Winry don't you?" Of course Edward would never admit something like that. [/spoiler]
I have a feeling that Winry is about to play a significant role in the upcoming manga chapters. (She might come up North to make repairs on Ed's auto-mail) What will happen between her and Edward, I can't say.

They had a sibling's bond in the anime; their babbling over simple things, all of their interactions.
Perhaps there was a little joke of romance here and there, but all and all, they were like brother and sister.

Since manga Winry [spoiler] already admitted her feelings,[/spoiler] it's quite obvious their next encounter (most likely for auto-mail repair) may turn out differently, with the romantic tension (they'd probably think back to those 2 distinct 'moments', and feel a tad awkward).

Yes, it will be an awkward moment although they've been fine talking to each other on the phone, we really will have to wait and see. As stated she hasn't been in it for a while so she will have to play some sort of a role for now. Death would be a rather dramatic conclusion yet it is quite possible too.

Incase I didn't put it in perspective, this is why I predict romance soon:
Next they meet, they may have a few awkward moments here and there.
Why? Winry has the weight of knowing she's in love with Edward on her back, so she might be hesititant around him.
Fixing him, speaking to him...
Plus, Edward may feel the same with his little chat from Riza (along with other moments here and there), though most likely not to that extent.
Who knows. He's stubborn.
It's alot easier to talk with someone on the phone then face-to-face.

Either way, I say there will be romantic tension, but nothing to extreme.
The manga has to last another few volumes, yet: Something romantic like a light kiss would be something similar to a finishing touch.

No offense, but some of these theories are quite silly. I HIGHLY doubt either one of them will die. Ed, MAYBE... but not Winry. Nor do I believe they will ever share a kiss. I think something will happen between them, most certainly. Arakawa, I feel, is the type to tie up all loose ends at some point or another. But I strongly believe nothing significant will happen, not even at the end of the manga. Only because this manga is more about Ed and Al than anyone else. And while the manga does focus more on everyone's relationships more than the anime did, I still don't think we'll get much. Let's face it, Ed would not be so willing to jump into any relationship until Al is human again. He'd feel too guilty.

But I cross my fingers that I am wrong. I would LOVE to see a kiss, even if it doesn't happen until the very end. While I have a strong hunch we won't get much, I know we'll get SOMETHING. Because Arakawa hearts het. And that is why I heart Arakawa. *Worships* XD

Yukina is right. Ed wouldn't feel good to have a relation while Al doesn't have his body yet. Until he gets his back I don't think there will be any relationship between Ed and Winry.

I am probably going to get whacked for saying this, but the relationship that Edward and Winry shares seems to mirror the relationship between Roy and Riza. Its obvious that they both shares bonds that extend beyond friendship. (Call it plutonic love if you may.) I agree with Yukina, that Ed is not the type to jump head-first into a relationship until he has dealt with his own personal demons and achieved his ultimate goal. (Reminds me vaguely of Roy) Both Ed and Winry depend greatly upon one another, and I think that Ed is finally beggining to recognize that.

I have to agree with a couple of you guys on this.I don't believe they will share a kiss,but something big is highly to happen between.So,hypothetically speaking,if they were to return to their original bodies, what do you think will happen to Winry and Edward?

@Eda - I agree that Ed and Winry's relationship is like Roy and Riza's. They definitely depend on each other a lot that is why their bond deepened into love. Roy and Riza = a love that blossomed from duty and Ed and Winry = a love that blossomed from friendship. So yeah, it is kind of one in the same. And also, both Roy and Ed have some nasty personal demons to face down before they can have a relationship with their respect female partners. But both ladies, I feel, are willing to wait.

@Nikki - If they were to return to their original state, I think its fair to say Ed and Winry would have a relationship beyond friendship. Perhaps not right away as its hard to say what Ed and Al would DO after (if) they gain their original forms. But I'm sure eventually they'd form something of a girlfriend/boyfriend status with each other. Complete with kinky automail sex, of coruse! XD

I do think if they regained their bodies nothing would happen for a while. Their goal is to get their bodies back ( and stop evil etc) but if they achieved that what would they do? Feel lost for a while I imagine. But as Yukina said it might lead to kinky sex romance.

Personally, I don't think Ed would do good with anyone, including Winry. Of course, something (ch. 70 is hinting, big-time) could happen in a future chapter that could change everyone's mind that Ed wouldn't do good with anyone, including myself.

Of course, this doesn't mean I dislike the pairing. I actually think it's one of the better ones out there. Fits me better than yaoi, at least. (no offense) And this one actually does have evidence. So, yeah, whatever form me.

I'm suspicious about the potential for romance, not that I don't love the idea and all (this is me we're talking about), but its too mixed in with this idea of using Winry as his weakness. It was bad enough as friends, can you imagine if they threaten to harm the one he's in love with?

Or, if they make Ed to choose (god forbid) between saving the lives of many, and saving the life of Winry.. shudder! Those what ifs are scary!!
For now, I concentrate on innocently enjoying seeing some EdWin evidence in chapter 70!

As soon as the two are 'mature' enough to truly embrace their feelings for each other, IMO they have a ton of potential as a couple. Wiry is coming around (as of chapter 70) but Ed still has his boyish tendencies, not to mention that he is currently preoccupied with bigger things.

I think this is a very accurate portrayal of a maturing teenage relationship, though. Girls typically mature faster than boys during puberty, and therefore seem able to handle the complex emotions that come with relationships sooner than their male counterparts.

Not only that, but this is EdxWinry in the MANGA and 2/3 of the pairings you have there are anime pairings.

EdxRoze is almost nonexistant in the MANGA (because she's only in two chapters and an omake, so unless Ed just wants to go off and become a bandit, therefore dooming the entire country, good luck with that), EdxNoa IS nonexistant (because Noa is an anime ONLY character plus only in the MOVIE), and EdxWinry is probably the most plausible pairing there is in FMA, along with Royai and MaesxGracia (just had to stick that in there...:3).

If Edward and Winry only have a sibling relationship and Edward only cares about Alphonse, then why are the homunculi threatening Winry intsead of Al? They could just threaten to drag Alphonse off to a lab or somthing (not actually kill him, because of the human sacrifice quality, but maybe just cut out the blood seal and wrap it up in a little box to give to Father) to keep Ed in line, so why Winry?

I did as you requested, and lost part of my belief in humanity(I knew emo Spidey would appeal to fangirls). You're annoying, this is a place to discuss the evidence for this couple because....deal with it....there is some!

I enjoyed what we were treated to in Chapter 70, and it would be nice if we had some in 71, but I think the point has been made for now and we'll only see more evidence when it becomes vital to the basic plot.
