Let's face it, Ed's hair is a major feature of his personality.

I love his hair. If I had that kind of hair, I would treat it the same way with simple respect as Ed does. Braided or ponytailed, I think they're both nice.

I like the long hair on him. Usually I prefer boys with shorter hair, but every once and a while it's nice to break away from the norm.

I think I actually like his hair better in a ponytail than a braid, though.

Ed with short hair just doesn't look right, so I have to say that he looks best with a braid.

Not to say that he looks bad with long hair--I just prefer the hair he had when he was little.

I've heard from multiple people that the only reason Ed has long hair is because he said he wasn't going to cut it until he got Al's body back...
Is this true? I never saw that in the manga (or I just don't remember it)! Hopefully, it's just a thing made up by fans of the series, because if it's true then Ed would probably cut his hair when he gets Al's body back. If he cuts it, I will most likely cry.

Don't get me wrong; I like Ed whether he has short or long hair, braided or in a ponytail. But his long hair is just so... HIM! He cannot cut it!

As far as style, like I said, I like it either braided or in a ponytail. My favorite, though, is the ponytail. In most of my fanfictions, I will use any excuse to have his hair in a ponytail! Coincidence? I think not! There is just something about the ponytail that I really like. He looks absolutely adorable with it! X3 Plus, it's easier to draw...

@ Hyperthia: Ed planning to cut his hair once Al is restored is fanon. He's never said anything like that. Actually there's an illustration by Hiromu Arakawa, that shows the Elric brothers (Alphonse in human body) and Winry when they're older, and Ed has long hair (in a ponytail) there.

Actually I think I've read from some interview that Arakawa has said that Ed has long hair because he's too lazy to cut it, but I don't remember where exactly it says so.

All in all, I don't think Ed's hair is in any danger.
