It's assumed that Dante is switching bodies (Dante's old woman form -> Lyla's younger body) to keep living... So, why is Lyla's body decaying?
Omakase Shimasu
Maybe because the longer Dante's possessing a body the more she... returns to her former self? *a decayed carcass* ......blah. dry.gif Nevermind, I don't know either.
Queen of the Dammed
Perhaps Dante had to kill Lyla of before processing her... Therfore the body would rot...?
Chibi Viki
what if the process of Dante and Lyla switching bodies is an attempt at soul alchemy... i mean, it is possible since Al's soul was transmuted to armor, why not a soul to a new body? equivalent trade: lyla's soul and Dante's body for the transmutation?

there was a huge alchemic array at Dante's house when Greed and Ed arrived so maybe that was used for the soul alchemy.

the decay of the body is a statement that says the process isn't perfect and that's why dante is seeking the philosopher's stone.

okay, this is all THEORY... my opinion...
RolfKaese
I go with the theory that she had to kill Lyra to switch Bodies.

but it could also be, that dante only stole "parts" of lyra, like the upper part, voice, appearance and so on. remember, dante bodies was sliced in two halfs when greed arrived at her/"his" house in episode 33...
Guest
It was sliced in two...bt it was sliced down the middle.
Chibi Viki
speaking of which... i wonder what lyla is planning to do with Roze and her baby...
WaveMaster
maybe a ransom for the P.Stone

But Al doesn't "Decay." If it was Soul Transmutation, then she would be immortal. Greed described what exactly the Soul Transmutation/Binding did - made it so you never got old or tired, "Immortality."

And Dante isn't looking for the Stone. She doesn't want it to be made. Dante IS that person, and that person didn't want the stone to be made.
TrueAlchemist
Koddachrome.
I made similar thread last Night.

You should check out.
Researcher had an interesting idea about this issue.
Kodachrome
Researcher is a retard who based a bunch of theories off of scenes from the Video game that were shown in Episode 00 that he thought were from the Anime. Nothx.
TrueAlchemist
Sorry for my last words.
I forgot you already visited my thread.

I do not know about Researcher's intelligence.
His theory is entertaining in some ways.

Ep 0 was an episode that introduces viewers to the Sony FMA world (anime and PS2 game). Researcher was probably confused, that's all.
Guest
Soul transformation from human body to armor like Al will gain immortality. But not human to human. THis is why episode 45 gets its title. Lyra's body will still rot because lyra is human. The original Dante's body is also rotten so is Honhehelm.
RoyxRiza BigFan
i am bit not familiar with the anime but what's with the link between lyra, dante and greed again?
derk
hey, just thought i'd add my 2 cents in.

i think that dante and hohenheim are embodiments of the philosopher's stone. that's why hohenheim is alluded to be immortal, and if you look carefully in eps 44, i think at 21:18- they show a close-up of dante's body. doesn't that look like the color of the philosopher's stone?

question now is, who did hohenheim resurrect?
WaveMaster
everyone is saying envy but we don't have solid proof
TrueAlchemist
I do not believe Dante knows or perfected Immortality.
She need to change her body.
By that , she is not immortal.

Hoenheim, he might be close to immortal, but I am not so sure.
Dante said, Hoenheim is old and weak, which means he might find some way to preserve himself from aging.

I am sure that Heonheim is more talented than Dante.
If any of them have a P stone, they would be like a superman.
But, they are not so great because of age.
Guest
Damn, those 130++ year old tadpoles sure can swim quite good....
TrueAlchemist
Nice words guest.
Hahaha.
smile.gif
Omakase Shimasu
Oh man.... So this whole Hohenheim and Trisha having kids... is squick. And gross. How can a zombie (Hohenheim) have kids anyway? blink.gif
Guest
He froze them using Alchemy (when he was a spritely 25) and later thawed them out for use at the time with Tisha 100 years later?
Hagane no Chibi
Because he isnt a zombie, he just found a way to lengthen his life through alchemy. The Hoenheim body is likely "Borrowed" Just like Lyra's is for Dante.
Thats how he knew things from over 100 years ago and thats why Lyra/Dante said that he had spent too much time in that body and it must be reaching his limits and Hoenheim said "Indeed it has". Then he offered to tell her the reason her body was rotting. Its likely that they both use a similar method of alchemical "body snatching" to stay alive, but Hoenheim has perfected it. And the reason Dante wants the philosophers stone is to do a more perfect soul transfer that she wont have to keep renewing every so often.

And my guess is Envy is his "mistake" Since Hoenheim can transmute with no circle, so therefore he has seen the gate, he most likely has attenpted a human transmutation.
Guest
rose belongs to an ancient tribe. maybe she has blood connection to make dante more powerful. Dante needs the baby for herself (soul transformation)
Omakase Shimasu
Oh, thanks for the info everybody! happy.gif

OK, than I guess having children between the two isn't squick at all.. Just weird. tongue.gif

Dude! Who was Greed to Dante? Was Greed like Dante's pimp 130+ years ago? It would kinda make sense.

Greed could have gotten filled up with holes from guns. He's a pimp, so its possible. Then Dante could have revived him as Greed, and Greed's power CLEARLY made him invulnerable to bullets.

Wow. I am so fucking stupid!

Wait a minute...
When did we get to the conclusion that Dante switched bodies with Lyra?
I'm confused...I watched up to episode 44...
Guest
If you watched up to 44, then you should know at the end who Lyra really is.
rsF
Silly me. I didn't watch Episode 44. I don't even have it on my computer.
That's cool! Now I have another episode to watch. =D
dandie_candie
Since Lyra and the Hohemheim are switching bodies (just a theory), since they may sacrifice their last bodies, this probably allows them to see more from the gates, thus more of the "Truth". As seen in Ep 44, both do not require to touch a surface after clapping, nor is a transmutation circle visible afterwards. I'm kind of curious of whether or not after every time you transmute your soul, the more of the "Truth" you obtain. XD
CookiesNCreme
If Dante was really after the P.stone, why did she tell the Elric bros that the thang isn't somethings that's worth chasing... UNLESS SHE'S A BLOODY LIAR! Of course it wouldn't take much to convince me that she is.

Also how come Dante taught the "sensei" stuff? Did Dante just want Sensei to make another homo for her army of homos?

Any opinion on who made pride, envy, or fatty?
Lust - Ishbars
Wrath - Sensei
Sloth - Elrics
Greed - Dante
Pride - ????
Envy - ????
Fatboy (gluttony) - ????
TrueAlchemist
Pride, we might know about him in ep45.
I hope Roy doesn't get killed by Pride.

Envy, Many people believe that Hoenheim might be the one who made him, but I do not believe Hoenheim is the one.

Gluttony, haha, I want to see who would like to revive a dude only eats. most of homuculus came back in better form like Lust and Sloth. smile.gif
I do not want to see Gluttony when he was human.
odoridan
Hopefully we will get a quick story of all the remaining sins in ep 45. In ep 45, they are supposedly going to talk about the creation of the Philospher's stone 400 years ago and talk about the gate. There has to be some talk about Homunculi in there.
TrueAlchemist
Thanks you Odoridan for info.
Maybe, Al's case is somekind of miracle compared to 400 years ago.

Even though they figure out creating Philosopher's stone similar Al's case, No one would want one person to have a huge amount of power. Who knows?
I think we will know soon.
Zechin
dante seems kinda gay to be "that person" i suspected "that person" to be a badass cool looking guy! BUT WTF! if dante is "that person then i'll be upset sad.gif dry.gif

And why would Dante if she is"that person" want to keep edward alive for?? Unless she wants to steal his body? If she wants edward to make the philosipher's stone why not she make it herself since she can use alchemy blink.gif
The_Lazy_Alchemist
Dante is defintely the evil one and I guess it's a change from the whole badass dude being the evil guy. And maybe her alchemy is limited. Her body is rotting and she said Hohenheim is reaching his limit and he said that also applies to her. Who knows, maybe she wants something more than a body. The gate is going to show up in the next episode.
TrueAlchemist
Zechin, I hear you.
Unfortunately, Dante is the evil dude that rules over homuculus for some time.

I think Dante does not know what Hoenheim knows, and that is why Dante is in deep sh*t. But, funny thing is about Dante putting her own soul into Lyla's body. I mean, Hoenheim told Al that with P.Stone, Al can transfer his soul to another body. Is that mean Dante has P.Stone of her own. I think we should wait for next episode.
dogbtie
i dont believe that hohenheim said it took the p.stone to put your soul into another
body.

there once was a religion that believed in one god.
because of this a great number of them died.
"thats because ppl cant become gods" (lyra)

these ppl died in order to become gods.
perhaps they channeled themselfs into one body inorder to create a god and
thus creating dante and hohenheim.
but they simply created a leapfrog, jumping from one body to the next destroying it in the process.

they created a "fallen angel",if u ppl saw the movie "fallen" there was an angel that fell from grace and was forced to live inside ppl, shifting from body to body.

lyra said that ppl cant become gods ,because she tried to and failed.

+i believe hohenheim created pride(something in the op that had a paper talking about pride, plus men are full of pride)
dogbite
i must add something.

first u do need the p.stone to switch bodies.

i dont think dante is the "that person".
she doesnt seem like a master ,but a henchmen.
she doesnt know why her body is rotting.
the way hohenheim is talking to her is like she is just some other tool, like the homunculi.
the way she says "my master"just seems that way.

i cant explain it more.

created gluttony-the sin means more than eating things.perhaps somone wanted more than he had,it is possible that gluttony tried to transmute himself to something and failed.
TrueAlchemist
Dogbite, try to put them in one reply.

And, Watch latest episode, and observe conversation Al and Hoenheim.
Hoenheim told Al that he cannot regain his body with P Stone.
And, Hoenheim said, with P.Stone Al can move his soul to another body, and Al did not accept the idea about taking other people's body for himself.

Can anyone back me up here??
Andrew
Hmmm I didnt catch that a l/ his daddy munchkins conversation come to think of it...ill have to look at it again. Btw was I the only one that thought that "that guy" was al and ed#s father the whole way through? But no Dante (as in "Dante's inferno", hell references) must be, and along with Honeheim of light being the evil/good "major powers" of the story line.

Plus story wise you cant introduce a big bad guy this late onto the story, you have to have met him before, and honeheim was the only other guy it could have been as hes already been talked about.
TrueAlchemist
This is not manga story line.

This is anime story line.
It is different .
Dante is evil one.
Zechin
I kinda agree with Andrew on the Dante part.
But dante got his/her assed wooped by hohenheim.. Maybe They want the P.stone to create a ultimate body so they can shift their soul's over to it huh.gif
my two cents^-^
Guest_psycojester
Dante created greed, lyla was trained by Dante, Dante has now taken over Lyla's body

She is.

Envy: "That person created Greed."

Lyla to Greed: "You have come here because this is where you were born."

Lyla: "Dante told me she performed Human Alchemy once, and created a Homunculus."

Greed (looking at Dante): "I just came here to see a familar face."
Zechin
what episode does it say
Envy: "That person created Greed."
i wanna see for my self just to make sure wink.gif

I have a few theories

1) People have asked why Dante was Izumi's Sensei. I believe she either A) put ideas in her head that led to the creation of wrath B) was originally going to transfer herself to Izumi until she performed the human transmutation and screwed up her body

2 ) Attaching oneself to another body does not require the philosophers stone. Hoenheim merely states that you COULD do it with it(I think he knows Al has the 'philosopher stone' in his armor. I mean he could tell Al was the suit of armor right away despite the fact that he left when Al could barely talk). Also he said that Al could get his body back IF he returned what he gained (To which Al mutters something about defeating a homonculus (probably sloth) )

3.) I believe that Dante is working for something higher. I don't believe she is the complete mastermind behind it all. I think she may either work for the devil or something.

4) I believe Dante is rotting is because she tried attaching her soul to a dead body (like Edward attached Al's soul to the suit of armor) She could control the limbs but since her body is dead, it rots.

5) I believe Hoenheim has always been the same person. Just that he has a way of keeing alive
'
6) I believe there's more to the perfume than covering up smells. I think it's weird that Hoenheim and Dante should use the same perfume to just "hide an odor" Other perfumes could do the same thing and the fact that Hoenheim has been using the same perfume for THAT long.

blah blah, I have more I could write. Too tired though.

It's 31/32...

When Sloth and Envy are getting Wrath from after his fight with Ed/Al/Izumi/Winry on the Island of Body Alchemy.

I think a dude called "Researcher" had similar idea.
Anyway, I think we should wait in order to see who is behind and its purpose.

But, I do not believe Dante made Greed by human alchemy.
when Lust said, that person created Greed", It sounds more like Dante created Greed by feeding him Red stones not revive him from dead.
