Eh... i thought Invader Zim was a bit overrated... Avatar's cool I guess...

I love Avatar: The Last Airbender.
While ago, Nick had Airbender marathon when I had cold and sick at home all day, and trying to find something to watch.
I watched, like 3 hours of Airbender on that day, and I was impressed!!
The quality of animation is great (award winning, I heard, right?) and the story is intrigueing!!
Like others said, hard to believe it's on Nick. CN sould have snatched it.
Unfortunately, the airling schedule on Nick is not working out for me, and I'm missing lots of eps since then.
I should try catching up somehow.

I love the graphics and animation..it's Nickolodeon's first actual anime
series!!!!!!!!!!!....I've seen chapter 1-17...it's really a great show...anyone who missed it, gotta watch

you know what's weird? i was making up my own manga story...
its something about some gods i made up for the story's sake, the elements and how the devil unites us all...
and in my manga, KITARA was one of the forests around the north

you can imagine my surprise when i first watched the show and heard the name "Kitara" used for one of the main characters ^^

the crappy part is, if i ever do try to get my manga published, people are gonna think i copied the name from Avatar: The Last Airbender...

the part when Zuko and Katara fight, also Zuko and Zhao.....and Uncle Iroh was tight!...

I've seen it since the show first came on, and it's fascinating. I almost didn't get to see it from the beginning because I thought "it looked stupid" from the preview. How wrong I was. You know, I almost made the same mistake with FMA! Gotta stop ignoring first impressions.


Although Avatar isn't "anime" per-say, it rivals many anime I've seen when it comes to art, action, story, characters, etc. Oh well, it doesn't matter if it is Japanese or American, since most of the animation work is done in Korea anyway! *is proud*

The season finale didn't disappoint. I'm looking forward to the next seson, and the DVDs that are set to appear around 1/24/06.

it has great story line: about a guy trying to save the world from an evil lord, kindda simple if you think about it


it has great characters: they all do something kewl or they jsut make you laught.

YAY! I didn't know this topic existed either. I focused on another thread (Tombow, you know which one )

I've known that the show's going to be coming back this Friday for a couple of weeks. A friend of mine caught a commercial and told me. Ever since, I've been trying to catch that commercial. We're finally going to get a better idea of the family dynamics in Zuko's life, what with his sister chasing him and Iroh around.

In this season, I think Aang is going to master his Earth-bending, since he's supposed to learn in a cycle and is already knowledgeable in water and air bending. Earth comes next, then Fire if I remember right.

Anyway, anybody willing to comment on couples? Maybe start a poll? I don't know enough about forum set-up to make one myself. o_o;

is water the only chapter they have on avatar?

Yeah, I think they've only done the water chapter so far.

IT'S ON TONIGHT! Must watch, must watch, must watch... *hyperventilating*

I've seen the first two eps. of the 2nd season, and wow, just wow.

I have to say that Avatar's one of the best animations I have ever seen. My new favorite series after FMA. The action, the story, the character development, all are great and beyond one expects from Nick these days.


Oh yeah, and Zuko's sister's name is officially "Azula." Yes, many thought that name was fake, but it looks like the fake turned out to be the real deal.

Avatar rocks! I've watched the show from the beginning, and it has been great. It's humorous, has good plot lines, and the animation isn't half bad either!

Want t' know who my favorite character is? *grins* ZUKO! In the last chapter of book one, when Zuko tells his little angsty story, I got up off the couch and shouted, "I knew it! He does have a good heart!" My little sister just about jumped out of her skin...

@fMa_nv92: You didn't miss much... Just that the gang got trapped in the "lover's cave" and the only way they could get out was to let love guide them... [spoiler]We didn't get to actually see Aang and Katara kiss... their torch went out as they were about to kiss (perfect timing...) Turns out that love didn't guide them out of the cave, but a bunch of glowing crystals did![/spoiler]
I'm not sure if there's a new episode Friday, but I think Nick's idea of presenting new episodes every other week is pretty lame.

I think Sokka is one of the funniest characters on Avatar, I mean, besides Zuko's uncle (I forget how to spell his name...I think it's Iroh but I'm not sure...) of course!

The humor in this show is great, even the ones that are SUPPOSED to be corny!

Another thing about Avatar that lets it trump many animations (even anime) is the fact that the action is "palpable." I mean, you can SEE what's going on when the people fight each other. It's not a bunch of sliding pictures or flashes or any kind of animation shortcuts. I think this is because the fighting styles of Avatar are based on real martial arts...

i watch this show once in awhile if i'm home and i remember that its on. yea i agree the fighting does look very realistic since its based on actual martial art techniques.

It alright, I like the fighting style martial art techniques.

If you guys are interested, I hear that Itunes lets the episodes out a week early. Since I don't have an Ipod and my computer downloads slowly, I don't see them. This Friday's episode has already been put out. Anyway, it's true that the action sequences are awesome. But I still prefer the comedy and character interactions.

Well, since I am planning on getting the DVD, and since I'm going to have them on my computer in the meantime anyway, I don't want to pay money for this. But the fact that they have eps. a week ahead of time is awfully tempting.

I have to say, I'm not all too impressed with the second season so far... It's really slow.

Its been a good show/anime so far i would watch if i where you..
it is really interesting when ever you get in to it.

I've only seen it once and a couple of my friends play the card game so I got a starter deck box and a couple of booster packs ^^

Things are starting to look up in the second Avatar season!

I love this show, but i haven't watched it for a while cause I don't know the schedule and I usually have other things to do when it's on.

So I watched last Friday's episode and I was like, "DARN IT, ZUKO, LET KATARA HEAL YOUR UNCLE!!!"

I mean Azula literally took out Iroh, and Zuko wouldn't even let Katara help! I don't understand it... Oh, and do y'all think Azula killed Iroh, or do you think he's just severly injured?

Injured. It's too early for them to kill off uncle. I think that he WILL die eventually, just not now.

I saw that episode I was literally screaming "let Katara help him, you idiot." I was pretty mad when I saw that episode though because I had missed the two new ones that came before it. I don't think he'll die either. I can't wait to see the next episode.

I don't think Zuko will use lightning either, I don't think he'll ever need to. In the end of the episode when he was out in the thunderstorm trying use lighnting, that almost made me cry. I feel sorry for him.

Me too... but if he'd just let go of his rage, he'd be able to surpass his sister in strength and power...

We'll just have to see where the authors want him to go...
