@The New Fullmetal Alchemist - Reading Galorfilinde's post got me thinking...
Maybe you can work on concluding the first fanart (Royai) contest also??
(I'm sure you're doing that also, but maybe give little more "push"?? )
Or, if it keeps getting postponed further, (or, even if it is in a process of being concluded soon,) additional courtesy "update" to all participants might be helpful??
Additionally, (just in case...) if it may not seem to conclude soon, possibly giving options to the participants to wiithdraw from the contest. and/or consider the possibilities of dissolving the contest, if even temporarily (and reorganize it, and hold the contest "fresh" at later date) thereby freeing the contestants with their entries.... so that the contestants are again free to use their entries, such as entering that to some other contest, etc. (I think those might be fair and standard procedures when there is a material change in the contest.)
Just got me thinking out aloud... (Tho, I'm sure you know those stuff already. )
Anyway, I don't know anything about your fanart contest, so this might be totally irrelevant...

Na-ah, just a sweet Royai scene in front of Hughes' grave, with Roy hugging Riza tightly and lovingly, promising to protect her and saying that he don't wanna lose her again.. then she kissed him.. *goes on dreaming*

But I want to see Riza in a wedding dress. *whines*

On the other hand.. You're ending sounds really sweet Mel. And now I come to think of it, all my Royai fanfics end with hugs and kisses.

@eina I totally get what your saying. I used to watch Gilmore Girls all the time and my sis and I were Luckai fans (Luck and Lorelai lol funny how that works) we just knew from all the subtle hints that they belonged together...then they hooked up in a cute way and now they're always kissing and now we don't care.
I think they should save Roy and Riza finally admitting that they love each other for the end like the way Mel-chan put it.

1000 pages...it would only be fun if all you (regulars) will be there and FMA's still going. It's kinda' sad to think about it but what will we do once FMA ends? What will become of this community we built? I don't even want to think about it.

OK I was going to do some scanning but I found it online so now I don't have to. I don't know if everyone has seen this yet but it's a book they sell in Japan that atemps to teach people English but they do a really poor job Engrish Royai there's also tons of other stuff there (if you don't mind going through it)
And everyone's seen all the Royai fanarts in the Hagaren DX book right? If not I could scan them...

Now for my spoilerific discussion of the chapter:

[spoiler] WOW. Darn, no really obvious royai, but I liked one part:

Grumman: If you lose your trusted subordinates, you lose everything.
Roy: Yes... I have nothing to say to that.

It's not technically ROYAI, but it reminded me of Riza.

Minimal royai aside, was anyone else scared by Grumman's "serious side"? I was! And speaking of scared... KIMBLEY'S LOOSE! <- Doesn't even BEGIN to describe that. Other than that, all I can say is that Armstrong's sister looks like one scary/interesting character.[/spoiler]

Here's what I think about characters' endings, some serious stuff here. If Dr.Knox has a happy ending, Roy and Riza would have theirs too after some "pains".. We'll go emo then, after which we will be bouncing all around.
