Tombow--I'm fine with just attaching the document in an email, but I'm really uncomfortable putting a non-fiction essay out there for all to see. Weird, I know, considering I write fanfic, but the two are totally different, at least to me. Being relatively good with fiction writing doesn't always translate to being good with nonfiction in my case. I will certainly consider posting it to the debate thread, but it should probably go through major editing first, to make sure I have my facts totally straight, and my opinions worded carefully. So, you might not see it for a few weeks while I get back into school and edit, but I'll work on it. Fair enough?

Even with the implications, I hear this song, and I'm like, "OMGROYAIFTW!" *ahem* Anyway, the way you could put it is that just because Riza's devotion runs incredibly deep, doesn't mean that she doesn't have a life of her own. It just shows she cares about Roy very, very much. (And vice-versa--nobody ever said we couldn't make this about Roy, too!)

And yes, that is the keychain. I also have the Ed and Al one. Cute, but not as cute as Roy and Hayate.

ACTIVITY!!!!

I went to AAC this weekend, and there were a lot of cosplayers for manga-only characters, and there was actually a skit reencating the major RoyAi scene in chapters 101-102, from Goldtooth trying to persuade Roy to transmute someone, to slitting her throat, to Mei kicking his butt and rescuing the Lieutenant. I was cheering so hard, and my poor friend who is only on chapter 95 and had NO IDEA what was coming was gripping onto my arm freaking out during the skit!

Why can't you cosplay?? No money/nearby cons?? I've gone as Riza a few times before, and it's fun because I get to glomp all of the Roys XD And the FMA fandom people are all so great, so there's a ton of awesome people to talk to.

That skit pretty much made the masquerade for me (as you could see in the video, the organization and technology run by the people there wasn't up to par, but this made up for everything)

Yeah, I can't Cosplay cause there aren't any conventions nearby. T_T
If it's just costumes..I think I can ask my grandma to help make them...she's pretty good with sewing...(I love grandma...lol xD)

Mine is (right now I can only think of one couple at the moment ^^): Fox Mulder and Dana Scully from The X-Files!
Both are on-the-job relationship, both are sort of "two people working in partnership for the common goal" kind of partners, both are formed on deep trust for each partners, AND both relationships gave us enough "tease" without ever showing them uttering L word!!

And about Tombow's question... I always relate Royai to Chuck and Sarah, from the TV series Chuck. First of all, because I think Sarah resembles Riza in many levels: as being a fierce, fighting woman, who's serious, but also kind... (aside from the fact that they ´physically' resemble eachother), also because Chuck's funny side reminds me a little of Roy's cheekiness, and moreover, because of the all "protector" relation and Sarah's fear of Chuck changing his true nature due to all the situations they get involved in...
So, although they're not particularly similar in the true sense of the word, there's some characteristics that always catch my eye.

^ Oh my God please never say that again. Chuck and Sarah are so embarassingly childish, all they do is sit around and whine about their relationship to one another and everyone around them like five year olds. They are like the anti-RoyAi. Sarah is a flirt (Bryce I get, but if she loved Chuck all along, she wouldn't have been sleeping with that guy from season two and Shaw) and there's none of the silent understanding that Roy and Riza have. (sorry Turdaewen you know I love you, don't mean to rant it's just that Chuck has been pissing me off a lot the past...two years...so that kind of hurt my soul)

I used to think Ziva and Tony were like Roy and Riza, how they were in earlier seasons more than now, now their relationship is poorly written and I've lost interest...it's just Tony getting jealous for two years straight and silly remarks here and there that don't quite hit the mark...which is kind of sad, because I used to relate them to RoyAi, too.

Gah, there was this couple I related to RoyAi all the time, but now I can't remember who it was!! I forget if it was a show or a movie...

XD I mean, just like most the AMVs and MMVs I watch tend tp use a sort of music that don't appeal to me (I'm really not into hard core nor most current rock bands). There's just things out there that "talk" to you and others, don't! lol So, I don't expect you (or anyone else here, for what's matter) to share the same feelings I do. XD

To be truly honest. I'm kinda out of the whole "tv series/comics/cartoons" world nowadays, so, most the couples people mention, I have never even heard of. lol

I use to relate Booth and Bones from Bones with Roy and Riza. But I am so far behind on Bones, that I don't know if that is true anymore.

FMAobsessed--I can see that, actually. Except that Roy and Riza definitely have a more established relationship(mostly because they've known each other for longer), whereas the appeal of Brennan (aka "Bones", if you don't know the show) and Booth is the tension because they're not as secure, I tend to think. They're always overtly teetering on the edge of something, but with Royai, the fun's in finding/misinterpreting not-so-subtle hints and being surprised by the big moments.

Um... Friday has once again rolled around, and, it being so close to Halloween, I thought of a few questions that might actually keep people posting until next Friday.

1) What sort of common (you know: spiders, heights, enclosed spaces) fears do you think Roy and/or Riza might have, and how might they deal with them?

2) What do you think either one would dress up as for Halloween?

3) What candy is each one's favorite?

My responses (before I dash off to class):

1) I can see Riza being afraid of the dark (after that meeting with Pride, at least), but not much else. More like a strong distaste with a bit of fear. Nothing excessive. As for Roy, I get the feeling that he's afraid of spiders, but that he'd char them to a crisp before anyone could figure it out.

2) I can see Roy as a pirate (à la my username-sake! ), but I have no idea about Riza. Nothing outrageously sexy, though. She could dress up as herself in that one gorgeous calendar picture, maybe. (Although, if she did that, Roy would have to be in a tux and be James Bond or something. )

3) I have decided that for my purposes, Roy likes chocolate, and dark chocolate in particular. Riza... You know those little butterscotch hard candies? I'd say those.

The questions... I kinda agree with what most of you guys already said. Riza having a fear of darkness (especially after the Pride incident) is very plausible. As for the costumes... I'd love to see them (again XD) in the Romeo and Juliet costume--or any other couple for that matter :3 And for the candy... I've always imagined them to be... chocolate persons. XD

Which school subject(s) do you think Roy and Riza would excel in? Which one(s) wouldn't they do well in/like to learn about?

I'd say Roy would be good in chemistry (duh...) and history/political science. I feel like his worst subject would be economics, but I don't know why.

Riza would probably be good in language arts and history. I can see her as not being great at science.

In all cases, I'm sure they'd be good students, and wouldn't be failing their worst subjects by any means.

Riza: Language, History, Art, Music, and somehow I think she may be good with Geometry. xp

And, I also think BOTH would make Dean's List, meaning, academically they are very good students. (And, I think, so as Hughes, Breda, Fuery, & Falman)

Roy - chemistry, maybe physic , math and history, surely good in economy, but I really can't imagine him to be good in Biology and Riza would surely beat him in Physical E.
Riza - I think that she's generally good in everything, but she would surely be best in geometry, because she's very precise, in history and I can absolutelly imagine her speak in every language

What's one thing you really admire about Riza? About Roy?

I admire Riza's honesty. I try to be as honest as possible, but there are times when I feel like I'm going to hurt someone, and even though the chance is low, I either say nothing or embellish the truth. (I try not to outright lie.)

About Roy, I admire his tenacity. I really relate to that particular trait.
