I know, I grew up with it too...
I found out about it when I was roughly 14, and now I'm nearly 20. That's a fair chunk of my teenage years! I'll be sad to see it go.
As for ep. 54, I will do as I always do and watch it when I come home from work on sunday night
I'm not sure what time it airs GMT, sunday morning for me I think?

Wow, someone even younger than me! I was 7 when it came out.
It's not quite as long as Naruto, but I think FMA is much better since it keeps its plot concise, and so much solid research, good planning, and deep messages come with it.

The royai episode in... wait a minute, must do my counting... in 15 hours! I can't wait. I remember, a year ago, royai was more a wishful thinking on our part (as in we
knew it and everybody else ignored us) and then so many good things happened (okay, and many bad things as well but that's not the point) and we got to see Roy and Riza in almost every chapter since.

Tian Ai--*OMGSQUEE* That is absolutely adorable! I feel like that's how it would go down, too--chapters 14, 59, and 91 of my 100 themes all deal with this sort of event, but only 14's been posted thus far.
I might be biased, but I don't think Royai's been so much wishful thinking as very subtly there since "it's going to rain". (Or at least, "Will you follow me?") I mean, that ability to read and wordlessly understand one another and that dedication is what defines their relationship!

I had a feeling it would start with Ishval.
And they did add a part? I thought so, because I didn't remember seeing that in the manga. xD
EDIT: And yay! I loved the next scene- Roy's expression looked so pained when he was going through his memories of Hughes. I'm glad they kept it all intact, right down to him making Riza put down the gun.

Ooooooh interesting... I will be late as usual and probably won't see the episode until at least tonight after work. (it's only 9am here just now) It's something to look forward to I guess, I can't wait!

I haven't seen the ep but I saw the screenshot. I suppose, if you're gonna do that, you might as well just get it over with. I imagine she would be very, very embarrassed. Actually, the scene is very similar to that of a part in a fan fic I read. And here's me thinking that sort of scene would only be exclusive to fan fiction...

I loved the new music as well. When Scar, Ed, and Riza's words are getting to him. Very emotionally moving.
Envy's performance has been stellar as of late. I'm really impressed with the voice acting. As much of an arse as he is, my heartstrings were being tugged
This seems totally random, but I'm happy because Riza's hair will be down from now until... the end, nearly.
I love her hair down.

Ahhhh *goes crazy* Episode 54 was perfect! And they even added that little scene where Riza first shows Roy her back! I only wish they could have shown his reaction right after that. Ah well, I'm HAPPY!! The acting was amazing, the music really set the mood... wow, they did a great job with this episode.
I loved that sound that Roy made when Riza says she'll destroy her body once this is all over... waaah! He was so distraught.. poor Roy. I've been saying that a lot lately...

I cannot WAIT to see all of this in English. Maybe not for Envy, but definitely for Roy. Travis has come on leaps and bounds since the last series so I can't wait to see him do this.

Yeaah! I just heard of the new character songs too! I'm sooo excited.
Also can't wait for the episode with chapter 101 in it... and the dub.. *sigh* even if the manga/Brotherhood will finish soon, there's still something to look forward to! That comforts me, at least.

Whoa!! That was amazing! No, that was like, beyond amazing! I was glued to my computer screen while I watched it. But Riza showing her back to Roy, I don't think I saw coming. Just a complete o__0 "WHAT?! NO WAY?!" -rewinds vid-. Roy's angry "I'm gonna burn you till even the ashes are gone" scenes are painful to watch because, even though we knew it was gonna happen, it's just rips your heart out to see him so... distraught.
And then the ep oozed Royai. No, it didn't ooze Royai, it bled Royai... in my face. I love you, BONES. This ep has truly made my week. And because I have state testing all this week, I will be playing the ep in my head over and over again... Ahahaha.
Soooo.... I'm gonna go and watch it again.

The whole part where he apologizes to Riza is well done... touching!
The one thing I was a bit disappointed about was the
"After this battle is over, my body will leave this world together with the corpse of the Flame Alchemist.". I loved how Arakawa portrayed it in the manga - her shocked expression, then showing her back as she said the words. If her voice had diminished to a whisper, I think it would have had a bigger impact. But nonetheless, great episode. ^^
Wow, English voice actors doing a good job?! I must hear it for myself.

Ohh arr, I haven't even finished the episode yet, and I can allready tell (from the spoilers ahahaha) that this is an amaaaazing episode. Nyaahhhh.
This may sound a little... o.o but I loved the pained expression on Roy's face when Riza asked him to burn her back, its almost as if he was struggling to stop himself hugging her.
Must dash and finish it o.O

FailToImpress--You're not the only one who wondered at Roy's lack of a reaction to Riza's back. I knew it was coming and I still went,
"Whoa... Really get down to business quickly, don't you?"
And I like Travis as Roy, too! Colleen as Riza, however... I think she's used to playing Riza as more "emotionless" than "checking emotions at the door", so there's room for improvement. She's not at all what I'd call bad, but I find that in the attempt to find that emotional balance, her lines are delivered a bit weirdly. That may just be me, though.
Tian Ai--As usual, great art! This new one's kind of haunting, though. It's good!

I think he knew what was coming before she showed him, yes. I think he was probably a little shocked by the scale, and that someone would actually do that-- but not enough to register an outburst. (Alternately, he may have reacted more, and we just didn't see it.)

Considering how short that part was, there's no way to get a proper reaction out of Roy... I would have at least liked to see a change of expression on his face.. see what he thought of the whole thing. But no. Eh, at least we got something!

With how short that scene was, I'm not surprised we didn't get much of a reaction from him. Whether he knew before hand or not, he was probably still too shocked to do anything for a moment.
Also, I like to think that after he looked at it and things started feeling less awkward, he hit that like a pinata.

To tell you the truth, I watched the episode live on KeyHole and even though sound was about 5-8 second in advance to what I actually saw I was speechless. A little guess game but still... "Yeah, this will be perfect, he turns around and says 'And you...'"

I have only seen the screencaps for episode 54. But just from the screencaps I can tell that the Royai is intense. Now I just need to watch the episode and see the voice acting and animation, and I am getting really excited. But I still have to watch 52 and 53 though...

True. After what we've just seen though, I can't imagine not getting a reaction from him.
In a fic I read where she showed him her back, he was so shocked that he was sick. However there was no prior warning, so I do suspect that she's told him already, and by giving no reaction he's steeling himself for what's about to come.
