Someone enlighten me: why is Royai Day June 11th? I've been wondering and cant seem to think of a reason. Is it just a curious date or does it actually have significance?

I heard June 11th was the day Arakawa released some chapter with a big RoyAi scene in it or something. It's probably true, but I don't know if that's how it started XD Maybe Japanese people are just weird? [JK]

Well, me and Kale are constantly writing lots of stuff so... end is not near at all I think it can be considered as an ongoing process/series, what have you. We're really enjoying it, so... just prepare yourselves for more Royai! (Not that anyone complains anyway, I'm sure of that )

Okay, finally got this monster of a piece finished.

Babysitting was not my plan for the day, so I got a bit distracted, and didn't finish until RoyAi Day was nearly over for me.

Again, thanks for all of the support and kind words regarding The Fic, as it means a lot.

When we started (I just double-checked, we started on May 11th ), it was just something that we were just writing back and forth to past the time. As the days went on, we decided that we'd compile all that we had written and keep it as a surprise for Royai day. Slowly, but surely, we were writing by day and editing the main doc by night & weekends.

Is there an ending? Not that I know of, as we're still writing as we speak.

Will it feature...? You'll just have to wait and see.

Are you both writing in character? I'll say that everything that Roy has said or done, would be from me being Roy and the same would go for amestris_star's version of Riza.

How about the other characters? Study what's being spoken and you might be able to figure out which one of us was writing what part.

Obviously I can't/won't answer everything regarding the fic because that would ruin the surprises, wouldn't it?

But thanks again and hope you all are enjoying this dynamic duo's misadventures...

I am totally wondering what he is saying at the last panel: they are both hilarious!

D'awwww. Cute! Really cute! But what bothers me is the consistency of the panels in this comic.. Riza constantly changes from being on Roy's left side over to his right! We learned in my Storyboarding class that that is a big no-no... ^^ I guess these artists don't really mind that though.

@Gimpyhair - I can't post the translation for the whole thing because of the part of content that goes over PG 13, (that reminds me... someone should edit and add the appropriate warning for that link also... I know adults readers would love that, but we have to go by our very sanitized PG13 standard on our board.) Sorry.. ^^
But anyway.. basically, that comic is about Roy in the hospital after the fight against Lust, and Riza was volunteering to be a nurse and be on Roy's side (and partly protecting Roy) because it's too dangerous for the regular nursing staff to do this assignment.... or, was it??? XDD
And, the very last panel is kind of like saying:
Roy: "...and, that's the dream I just had. By any chance, would you care to act that out for me?"
Riza: "REQUEST respectfully DENIED!! Just what a heck were you thinking?!!"
(or something like that. XDD)

Ah, Royai Day festival '09 draws to a close... well, not for about 7 more hours here, but I digress...

It's been awesome, seeing all this new stuff put up. All the icons, fanarts, amvs, fanfics (which I WILL look at sometime in the next century... er... heh, heh?), links to said items... It's all just been wonderful! And all the new people who showed up--STICK AROUND! The festival is over only in name. In spirit, it lives on! There's always something to discuss, whether it's "Will they be in the next episode/chapter?" or "What's their future?" or even "This song is SO Royai that it's not even funny!"

And then there's all the fics, arts, amvs, and links that show up outside of Royai Day.

But back to discussions. I was in my mom's classroom today (AGAIN), and I was reading the Literature book to see if they still had my favorite in there, which, of course, they did. "The Highwayman" is one of those poems I just love to death, and I started thinking about Roy and Riza as I read it, specifically about Riza's encounter with Pride and her phone call with Roy afterwards. Thankfully, they're both still alive, but it just kind of made me think about how similar the situations really are. Does this make sense, or am I spouting nonsense?

Yes, newcomers stick around! The festival may be drawing to an end, but we're always talking about something to do with RoyAi, and don't feel sheepish about brining up something we've discussed before, it's always great to read different p.o.v.'s.

Also, since we had so many contributions this year, I'm wondering if we should open a RoyAi Festival '09 thread in he fanworks section with all the links to everyone's work.

I haven't actually worked on that theme list in a while, my Olivier fic and second run of the RoyAi 100 themes take priority, but a proposal was a must for the theme of the Festival. Also, true about the vase thing. Once, in a fic I wrote Roy using alchemy to transmute a door out of a hospital, and someone commented "But, he can only make fire, you can't do that."

@Aribelle - Nop. That's why we also make "Festival Album" for each of these Royai festivals. It's a list of ALL of the contributed pieces with the links to each piece posted for that festival. For this year's Royai Day Festival, Kale Mustang has kindly volunteered and been assigned as the archiver of the Album. The idea is that the Archiver will keep track of all the Festival related pieces (that's including posters and banners and other pre-festival pieces that are related to that festival also) then make a list of links and turn it into some form of presentable album, and edit it into his/her post on June 11, so that we can always go back to it and find the reference list for all the materials contributed for this festival.

@Causmicfire - Nice banner!! ^^
And, as for opening separate thread....since we got so many wonderful contributions for this festival, we could open up independent archive thread. But, for that we may have to have 3 separate threads (or maybe 4 this year) as the forum usage on our board dictates that we have to post fanfics in fanfics subforum, fanart and comics in fanart subforum, photo-manipulations such as banners and avatars and such should be posted in fanworks forum, and the collaborated writing by Kale Mustang and amestris_star would probably be classified as "Roleplay" writing, and probably should be posted in Roleplay Community, as, essentially, all the Roleplays are a form of story writing. So, therein lies the problem.. The only place where we can have all these on one thread is in Spam Central forum, and we could do that if everyone would like this idea... ^^ Whatever you decide is fine for me.
