Happy 1000th page, everybo... er... Happy 15000th post every... Crap. I miss out on all the fun!

Forgiven--Nooo... It's June 11th. We just like to plan ahead. 'Cause Riza would approve, 'cause we all know Roy would wait 'til the last minute and--waitaminute... I know I had an actual point somewhere. *thinks* Nope. It's gone. (I generally wait 'til the last minute to write my fanfic, for some reason. I should probably plan ahead this year.

Liz--Of all the people to suggest possible happy, fluffy, family-centered Royai, it had to be you. I'm not saying you're cold, cruel, heartless, and that you hate happy endings--you're not and you don't! It's just that after some of the discussions we had about Roy, Riza, and families lately, it seemed a bit amusing. I'm sorry--I don't mean to offend!

sidekick.kep37--I want to learn how to make AMVs and MMVs! I actually have an MMV in mind and did all the planning--I just have yet to scan the pages (I don't want to steal scans!) and see if that'll work out... and see if I can synch it up properly. But I digress--write a fanfic, create an AMV or MMV, draw, take pictures, just join in! We won't laugh unless we're meant to, I promise!

I finally watched episode 5 of Brotherhood. I am proud of myself. When watching the Ishbal flashbacks, did anyone see the crazy guy with the crooked guy who tried to kill Roy and Hughes in the manga, but Riza shot him? I did. And it made me happy because I was like foreshadowing a future Royai moment perhaps?

@FMAobsessed - Oh!! Which one?? I did not notice!! I saw Issac, but I missed that one!! Good eyes!! ^^

@paca - Thank you for the pics!! ^^ I recognize the artist (actually, don't know the name but recognize the art style ^^) with the "Asutaka" story!! That's one of may fav artist. ^^

@sidekick.kep37 - MMV sounds good. Or, if you get some inspirations I would love to read your fanfics!! ^^

@Forgiven - Tehehe, yes, it's today, and fanfic writers and fanart artists have only few more hours to write their fanfics and make their drawings!!! XDD
Nah, it's June 11th, and we are talking about it now so that we can actually plan the activities and decide on themes in advance so that fanfic writers, fanart artists, MMV makers, etc. can have enough time to make their creations. ^^

@JS - Sorry!! The thread was growing so fast that I barely had enough time to make a banner for the 1000th page!! So, this year's Royai Day is also cerebrating our passing of 1000 page milestone, and start of the new anime series, and all the good stuff combined...hence the theme for this year, New Beginning. ^^
And, as mentioned by Liz, this is the general theme, and then each of us can interpret it in whatever the way, and some may indeed write some stories of Roy & Riza as a family, but that's just one possibility among many, as I understand it. ^^
I would love to find out how everyone will take this theme and expand it on their own way.

Anyway, according to the organizer, this year's Royai Day activities will be held over some days so that hopefully all the people who missed the 1000th page moment can have a chance to join the activities this time. ^^

Hah. Jacsparrow, dude, we're in the same boat. At this point, I know more about making amvs than I do mmvs.... which is weird. Yeah real weird... cuz I always thought vice versa would be easier. Hm... Maybe it's just cuz I like moving picture better than a standstill thing... and nothing SUPER DUPER EXTRAVAGANZA ROYAI comes out in the next 4 weeks or so regarding Brotherhood, I don't think... Yah. For now, I'm just gonna keep playing.

Unfortunately to a lot of people here, I'm one of those super headbanging, screamo ftw kinda kids. Which is why I like animation... With standstill manga scenes, I can't really work on them... (no offense to anyone! I love reading manga! It's great!). But I'll try to put something together that makes sense....

As I said earlier, my idea (which was merely a suggestion, nothing else) for what I'm now dubbing 'Roy & Riza's Infinite Playlist' theme was not so much to completely incorporate song lyrics into what you're working on (though for those doing AMVs the lyrics can help set the tone) but rather the feelings/thoughts/emotions that are invoked from when listening to a song/songs.

What I was aiming for was one's interpretation of what they got out of listening to a particular song, as my reaction to hearing from a song would differ greatly from someone else's.

Again, it was an idea that I came up with to keep with the overall theme 'New Beginnings' as I've always thought of music to mark specific points in someone's life.

To keep me on track for updating the album, I am mostly powered through: chocolate chip/chocolate chip peanut butter cookies, chocolate milk, & Reese's Peanut Butter cups/pieces...for future reference.

No offense taken. Hey, enough other people here seemed to like it, therefore I suggested it. RoiAi day has historically gotten a lot of fluff contributions anyway.
It may not be MY THING, but if other people want to write/draw it, knock your socks off. (Not saying *I* am going to necessarily *READ* a fic if it is prefaced with "OMGLOLZ RINGS AND BAYBEEZ OHNOES"... but by all means write whatever the heck you want. You're writing it for YOU. Not for any other person.)

I've been around this thread long enough to see that fluff has a widespread appreciation among Roiai fans.

Dan Dreiberg/Nite Owl II was always my favorite character from Watchmen because he was the most realistic of all of them.

Granted though, I'd say that only being out in the rain would get Roy out of the game...he's pretty much ready & able at any given time otherwise.

@amestris_star - Lovely pic!! ^^ Judging from the comment there, my guess is that that artist had one of those events where fans can get to meet the artist, and on that panel the artist was thanking fans for coming to that event.
I think I recognize the art style, and that particular Japanese font used for the comment, tho I still don't remember the artist's name. ^^

About the 'I' word (as Tombow puts it!), the official French translation of the manga used it instead of useless. They used it also in the omake where Mustang looks all girly and shoujo-ish. I still don't know if there're bad translators or if they did it on purpose! (poor Roy!)

I know, I know... It's a good word and the meaning is clear, don't get me wrong, but sometimes I feel that it's better to use words that are the closest/exact match to the word used versus one that's merely close because it sounds funnier.

Which again, it's hard to translate languages because everything is subjective in context...

...And as far as the official French translation, they're just jealous of Roy especially since the last name of 'Mustang' is just plain awesome.

I`ve finally finished my final paper! just 3 finals to go...

So, you guys posted A LOT since I last properly checked here. I`m seriously lacking in sleep, so I skimmed the posts and this is what I got:

Anyway, for my MMVs I am doing 4:AM Forever and The Call (by lostprophets and Regina Spektor, respectively). I am going to see what comes out of 95 before I start, but I will begin collecting scans and erasing bubbles and cropping and so on. I have a pretty good sense of rythem and music, but I am going to us WMV so it won't be as nice as, say, this.

I hope I'll be able to do fanart as well! I have one still in the wings, and that will be posted soon, and hopefully 95 will come soon and I can start on a new fanart.

P.S - I call 1st Lt., LAWL. (JK. I've been here only so long and deserve like....enlisted soldier. XD)
