(and yea RoyxRizaFan4ever i think we all understand that the thread has slowed in recent months/yr - with lacks here and there and the US releases slow (anyone remember the TV show? - they should have done it like Bleach, create a new story line and go back to the original when they can)
but every now and then there's stuff to say, there's no other explaining the grandiose size of this thread in comparison to others)

Ah yes, the time when we get to look behind the lines... allow me to explain what i mean -

After finding out that Selim is the leading homunculus, it's clear that his relationship with his "father" Bradley and the actual "father" is going to be a big part of the story
For example, notice how when Bradley shares his thoughts with Selim, Selim says he won't relay some of them to Father, seemingly out of respect
For Bradley, just as with Ling, is the only human-homunculus combination, and thus doesn't share the same thoughts and feelings (necessarily) as the other homunculi

So when he said to Hawkeye that HE made the choice, it's likely that he's explaining that he, the human he, has some control in the situation
This is major for the storyline, b/c if Bradley has a change of heart (as he's expressed occasionally in his doubts with Selim) then maybe his reasons for having Hawkeye nearby have interior motives - y else would he hint this piece of info to her?

-- Now this is all my speculation, i could be entirely wrong, but it is a thought to ponder
(heck, a side point, what if in scattering Roy's men, he enabled them to recruit more followers around the country?)

as for the lack of Roy, well, from the storyline we've seen, it looks like his thoughts are irrelevant right now, and we'll see them later; rather to see the development at central.. such is life

Elemental/Alchemist- Wow... You've got some awesome theories behind that one, not to mention a bit of proof to back them up. But somehow, as much as the human and homunculi inside might battle, I don't think he'd split up Roy's troops to get them to recruit. It's been fortunate that Briggs is mostly helping thus far, but I think it's probably just coincidence.

Just watch me be totally wrong. I'll laugh. I'll be pretty weirded out, too. Bradley helping them? O_O (Not impossible, I'll admit, but pretty improbable.)

It's an interesting theory!! Bradley is certainly an interesting character, and I wouldn't be surprised if Arakawa-sensei has more stuff waiting for him. This chapter's Bradley & Riza's interaction was unexpected, but good. ^^

Well, I have my BostonAnime costume. I'm going as *DUH-DUH-DUUUH!!!!* Riza! No surprise, right? Any excuse to glomp tons of Roy cosplayers...LOL. Last year I made my costume, but i bought it this year, and it looks amazing. When i tried it on, i didn't want to take it off!

As for Bradley...Hmm...a change of heart seems unlikely, but anything is possible in FMA!

Here is the Plot synopsis of "The Little Match Girl"... (I'm being lazy, so I copied from Wiki. )

It was night on New Year’s Eve, and a poor, little match girl was out on the streets selling matches. Although she was cold and hungry, with neither hat nor shoes, she was afraid to go home as her father would surely beat her when he found out she did not sell any matches that day.

In a nook between two buildings, she wanted to warm herself by lighting matches. In the light of the first match she saw a hot iron stove, but the fire was soon blown out by the howling wind. She lit a second match and saw a fully laden dinner table with delicious foods and a roasted goose that came slowly toward her. It too disappeared as the match went out. By the light of the third match she saw a beautiful Christmas tree lit with a million candles. The candle lights went higher and higher until they became stars. One became a shooting star and she remembered her late grandmother telling her that a shooting star means a person has passed away and gone to Heaven.

Upon lighting the fourth match she saw her smiling grandmother, the only person who ever loved her. This filled her with so much joy she quickly lit the next match and the next so that her grandmother would never fade. Finally, the grandmother took the happy girl in her arms and they flew higher and higher to a place where there's no cold, no hunger, no fear.

The next morning, the little girl was found dead in the snow with a smile upon her lips. “She wanted to warm herself!” people exclaimed as they noticed the burned out matches littered around her body. However, no one knew what beauty she had seen or with what glory she had gone with her grandmother into a joyous new year.

Still working on Royai fics (I've written about 7.5 of the 11 I have ideas for. Still working on getting more ideas, too. I don't know how long this one's gonna go.), but school is pretty demanding right now, so if I don't post them for a month (or three... heh heh... *shifty eyes*), I have a valid reason.

Anyhow, hi everyone, I'm back (from the dead), with the twelfth chapter of my Royai story, You've Got a Long Way to Go. I told myself I wouldn't come back until I had something Royai to share with you guys. So yeah. XD I've been having a bit of trouble writing (at least, in terms of FMA and Royai) lately, so I was glad I managed to put out another chapter.

Thank you for reminding me - happy birthday, Toru Ohkawa! I agree; it would be so much easier of Arakawa gave her characters birthdays, though then again, it would be quite...restricting in a way.

Causmicfire- Nice icon! I'm kinda sick (and therefore out of it) at the moment, so it took me a second to get it, but I get it! I wouldn't want that as my "squishy", though! Still working on my fics, too- up to 9.75-ish written. I'll start putting them up probably sometime around spring break.

And, joining the rest of you (though it's already tomorrow in Japan), happy (belated) birthday to Toru Ookawa!

She's demanding her fare share of fic, and making sure Roy is down for the count. I don't let her know I've got a few ideas on paper.

Causmicfire - I shall call him Squishy, and he shall be mine, and he shall be my Squishy. XDDDDDD I cracked up at that icon. And I cracked up when I screencapped this particular scene - I didn't know I'd end up using it as a sig. I thought of typing "Pick up on Aisle 1!" instead of "Excuse me, is this yours?" though.

Don't tell Olivier. I hope to write some Olivier-related fic too, but it's the reverse for me - Royai constantly nags me.

Hah! The Convention in my area was on Easter weekend last year (I think it's usually around that time, anyway. As I recall, it was last year...), but it's the weekend AFTER this year! I was so happy. My friend and I are planning to go all three days!

AndroidLust- If you can at all, you really should go to a convention. Sure, they might not be the most healthy thing for your pocketbook, but they're really awesome. I swung a deal with my parents about going. All my chores and homework done, and I'm with them all of Easter and the following week. Small price to pay, though, considering that the following week really wasn't that bad. However, I don't know your family situation, so I will refrain from further comment about that. Just, if you ever get the chance, seize it!

Elemental/Alchemist - My sig is from GUN×SWORD. Very interesting anime, to say the least; it has some themes similar to FMA, I'll tell you that.

Liz - Yes, quite a small world. If only I had a plane ticket and the entire week off, I'd so try to see you guys.

AndroidLust - I'm Catholic Christian, I've been doing those things for YEARS. Sorry about that; I know how it feels though. Why don't you go after everything's done? And, you don't have to spend anything if you don't want to...just go for the heck of it, to see the sights. I do that quite a bit...though I do end up buying the odd collectible here and there...

J.S. - I agree. Hmmm...I should check out the cons around where I live too. I've seen many FMA cosplayers, but they usually do the male characters. I've seen Pride!Ed (a friend of mine) and even Dante, heh. XD

Even if i could work out a deal, im not sure how i would get there. i can barely get to manhattan despite it being 20 minutes away. hows in God`s name would i find my way to boston? lol
i probably wouldnt buy any collectibles and whatnot but if there was anything related to japanese fashion (super lovers, hysteric glamour, ect) my purse would be empty XD. im an impulsive buyer so i would probably spend around $400, granted such items were for sale. and if anything wierd showed up, like a...cup ( ) with roy or riza on it, of course i would have to get it.

which brings me too this question: do they sell thing that are related to japanese pop culture at cons? (besides the obvious anime related items of course)

AndroidLust, they sell just about everything that you could dream of at conventions. I have only been to Otakon and a few conventions in Europe, but I know for a fact that Otakon had an extensive amount of Japanese pop-culture related items as well as more traditional items. I don't know what AnimeBoston shall be like (I have a feeling that they will have a great deal of vendors given the diagram they posted on the con site), but Otakon had a huge amount of dealers ranging in everything from Gothic Lolita Clothing to limited addition anime cells. The only downside is that a lot of these vendors have a rather steep price for their items. I think they jack the prices up on purposes, because they know that people come with a hole burning in their pockets. I loved looking at all the latest street fashions that they sold at Otakon two years ago, but I would have been sleeping on the streets if I were to buy one.

Hmm... you can get really awesome bargains, though. They might not be exactly what you want, but if you HAVE to have it, you'll find some way to get what you want.

Not, of course, that I endorse blowing all your money and not being able to get what you need. I'm just saying, I found some pretty cool stuff for decent prices at the last con I went to.

That said, Edamame is correct: for the most part, stuff is expensive, and when you have factors like travel, lodging and food to add in, it can get pretty pricey. We're talking (at least, for me, since I don't have a "real job") several paychecks and other odd jobs for me if I were to travel out of state. The key is to plan in advance, and, if you don't make it once, don't get discouraged. I'm sure there'll be other opportunities in the future.

And, so I'm not completely off-topic: I WANT ROYAI IN THE NEXT CHAPTER!

I'm thinking of starting up a doujinshi [but totally lack the writing skilz], and draw it along a fanfic or something like that. [Something along the lines reika2 did.] I'm looking for fanfiction that has good quality writing, I need your help!

I think the only requirements are that it should be a one/two shot and keep it pg-13ish rated. I may make exceptions to like totally awesome fanfics, but even then it'll be vague. ;D I have a couple people/fics in mind, and I'll be contacting them soon. In the meantime give me some fanfiction recommendations that could go well with a doujinshi!

Elemental/Alchemist- Yes, happy Purim! (I'm a rather non-practicing Catholic, but I know a few Jewish people, and I'm pretty open. I think learning about others is awesome! Oddly, I really don't want to go into psychology, though.) And I'll stick with you on hoping Arakawa has something planned. But, unless she decides to take a time-out from the impending action, I don't think we'll see them for a while yet. *bawls inconsolably at the thought*

Glam- as Tombow pointed out, I do write fanfic. A lot. But Causmicfire and Amethyst Sunset are more seasoned than I, and their stuff really rocks. AndroidLust- Right there with ya on the new chapter thing. Although I think I could handle it even if there's no Roy or Riza in it. That's really how badly I'd like something to distract me from school right now. (Not that I need it with midterms this week.)

As it is, though, I did get to go to SakuraCon, so that was pretty cool. Saw (and bought) my share of FMA (and other anime) stuff, and I almost got to meet Vic Mignogna, but I left early, so my brother said "hi" for me. It was pretty darn cool, although I'm kinda put out that I was left out of that, 'cause I've never met a big voice actor. Still have next year, though!

And, surprise-surprise, I'm keeping up with Second Chances! It's updated every weekend (if I can), so... if anyone wants to check it out... there's... y'know... Royai and... stuff... (I feel somewhat guilty for the shameless self-advertisement here, but it is Royai, so at least it's not OT!)

As for the next chapter : I doubt Roy will be in it. I'm guessing it'll be an Ed chapter since Ed and his bread are "fired up and ready to go", so I think Arakawa will postpone Roy's rise from the dead for another month or two *cries*. I just hope she doesn't go for a year without him...See how I've lost hope?

I have an AnimeBoston story to share. There was actually a Roy Riza skit in there, which was amazing since i was Riza Hawkeye. It began with the introduction to what it was about. "The next skit is about Roy Mustang, who will one day be Fuhrer, and hopefully make Riza Hawkeye his first lady-" I swear, the announcer had to stop half into what she was saying because everyone started screaming and cheering SO LOUD after she said that. it was amazing. The skit made no sense, though, because it was something like Riza going to the doctor and then the doctor called Roy on the phone so you couldn't hear what they were saying well because it was muffled, and at the end you could hear Riza killing Roy over the phone (I'm just relaying the story, folks, it wasn't a great skit), but the announcer clarified it by explaining that "when Mommy and Daddy love each other very much-" yeah, so i got the main idea. Kind of a weird skit, but I thought I'd share it anyway just because...

Yeah, It was probably one of the lamest skits at the con, but I felt the need to share it anyway. Actually, the worst skit was one where havoc actually proposed to Olivia, but I didn't see it, my friends told me about it. I'll post some pictures soon! There was a great Mei cosplay with an Envy Fetus and an Xiao Mei, and a great Olivia...

Oh, the Fullmetal skits this year at Anime Boston were deliciously cracktacular. Sheer curiosity got the best of me, and I stumbled into one of the "Mini-Skirt" army panels- giant mistake. I had the great pleasure of seeing the Havoc and Olivia sketch, and I think that my brain blew a fuse. Fullmetal Legal was pretty strange as well- the Roy Mustang versus Riza case on grounds of "sexual harrasment" was oddly amusing to say the least.

~The Mei cosplayer was incredible. I left a comment on one of her photos on Facebook. You had a very nice cosplay yourself. There really wasn't that many FMA cosplayers this year. (I felt a little out of place amongst all swarms of Kingdom Hearts, Naruto, and Bleach cosplayers.)

I loved your cosplay, too. it was cool that you went as movie Ed instead of dressing like everyone else who went as Ed.



There were millions of Lights and Ls from Death Note, too. OMG too many!

I didn't go to the miniskirt thing though some other Rizas who saw me afterwards told me i should. Just the sound of it "miniskirt panel" sounds kind of...well, you know what I mean.

As for Fullmetal Legal, I missed that. I can't even remember when that was. I must have been pissed off about the line if it was on Friday and was too tired to go...or was it Saturday? Either way, what was Riza's evidence??? LOL
