Of course not, we aim to overthrow topics! XD Kakakaka~
Seriously though, I'm glad this forum isn't as strict as most forums out there. I'd chalk it up to still being a very small community, but I've seen a forum ten times smaller than this and as strict as any Catholic School out there. (no offense to Catholic Schools here, got carried away ad overexagerrated... -_____-;; I get that a lot)

Ranking doesn't matter. If you have a username, you're a member.

Lucky-san is correct. There are no hidden sections that only people with a certain amount of posts can enter. Also, reaching a certain post count does not make you a moderator.

As Luckyalchemy27 said, post count doesn't matter. I've seen some spammers who spam for post count and "promotion". Some even post as guest, log in, and reply to themselves (they dunno about IP addresses I guess). They may have a higher ranking but they aren't liked by others as much.

Sorry, but you cannot be in the moderator group just because you know "[a lot] about FMA". Other areas of expertise are required, and let's leave it at that.
By the way, I don't think Ailuro would appreciate you stealing her GP banner. I don't appreciate you stealing her version of the GP banner which I made either.

Thank you for directing me to this thread, Quis.
First of all, you must be either extremely brave, or extremely foolish to even ask to be a moderator. Second, you have some nerve to come here and steal my GP banner which, might I add, was originally made by Quistis. I suggest you take down that banner now or I'll have to take matters into my own hands.
You did not make a very good first impression. Congratulations.

Well, sometimes n00bs just don't know how things work if it's their first forum...They think if they ask really nicely, they'll get the job. I was once this way myself, though I wouldn't have stolen the banner...

Hello, I am a "newbie" here (with no intention of being a "n00b" as you call them) and was curious about something.
Now, I've read your very helpful newcomers guide and have searched through the help files, and yet cannot find an answer to this.
I was just interested in knowing what kind of "ranking" guide you run here on the site (meaning i've seen people who have different titles under their names).
I know i am a "citizen" and don't mind that at all, i just wanted to see what each rank was and how many posts qualifies each.
If there is a link to a page explaining this i missed, i would gladdly visit that.
Thanks for the help

Well, you really shouldn't worry about post count. It won't help you be recognized by other members. Some users will give useless posts to try and raise their ranking. They are definetly not well liked in the forums. I can tell you that your next rank increase will be at 50 posts. You will be an Apprentice. I'm sure there is a thread about this somewhere though.

bryantq posted a short list on
this thread, but since it seems incomplete, i'll check and edit my post when i find out.
EDIT: okay, this hopefully is correct.

we don't know the ranks past 5000 since Quistis and Kase, top posters #1 and #2, had their titles changed into special mod titles.
0 - Citizen
50 - Apprentice
100 - Alchemists
200 - Major
500 - Lt. Colonel
1000 - Colonel
2000 - Brigadier General
3000 - Major General
5000 - Enlightened Alchemist

I found a lil pattern with the ranks...
by posting 50, you'll be an apprentise...
so double 50 and u get 100 which equals to being an alchemist.
and then double 100, you get 200 and that equals to being a state alchemist(major).
But at this bit I don't know why they changed it to be 500...and you just keep doubling the answers.
For E.G:
silver bg, is a Brigader General now, right?
If you look at his number of posts, you will see its 2000+ posts.
Thats all I know...
-------------------------------------------------------------------------
I must emphasize that Ranks are mostly for personal fun, and as far as I know, having higher ranks wouldn't affect the level of respects from fellow members. What earns you respects from fellow posters, IMO, is contents of your posts, and NOT the amount of post counts you have. Further more, making meaningless spam posts in order to earn higher ranks is frowned upon, and may cause others to lose respects on you.
Having said that, since so many of you'd like to know, here are the current ranking system.
This is the current Ranking system:
(It is all based on the post counts)
1 - 99 -------------- Citizen
100 - 249 ---------- Apprentice
250 - 399 ---------- Alchemists
400 - 799 ---------- State Alchemist (Major)
800 - 1499 ---------State Alchemist (Lt. Colonel)
After that, it goes up to State Alchemist (Colonel), Brigadier General, Major General, and Master Alchemist....
There are few more after that, but by then you'll probably forget about the ranks altogether (if not sooner.)
Trust me, it really really doesn't matter what rank you have, as far as getting respects from your fellow posters.
