Both of them. Mostly rock, but there are some great, unusual rap bands like for example Kaliber 44 (esp. first album, atmospheric as hell), Apokrifistis (underground stuff from Greece ), Dalek (rap mixed with industrial, weird but cool), Faith Hazard (horrorcore with gothic elements) etc.

Rap is crap, Rock is awesome. If you want to know why rap is crap, the just put some on and listen to it, there are exceptions to the rule, DMX is cool, Snoop is cool, everyone is lame. Japanese rap/ r and b is not bad. I hate American rappers, I'm American so I can say it. Deal with it. There is some rap that is aight, just majority is crap rap.

There are a few good rap artists out there, but most of them are just trying too hard to be "hardcore". There's only so much bling, drugs, ho's and stupid Hummers you can take before it starts getting ridiculous.

I love rock, however, I do not like Heavy metal and Hard Rock, I prefer bands like paramore, Hey Monday, Boys like girls and greenday ,, (:

Rock, easily. Of course, I don't discount rap, but I prefer rap paired with decent instrumentals or house music, not just on its own. And hip-hop I would take over rap.

Hip Hop/jazz/soul/funk/oldies/chill-out hip hop instrumentals/videogame&anime OST's are my favs, not a fan of rock or country.

While I like rap, I like more rock genres. I love a lot of metal.

I can appreciate the fact that to rap well is a lot more difficult than what you would think, but that doesn't mean I have to enjoy it.

Hands down rock for me too, but my poor redneck friends would have to get out their beating sticks if they realized that country has officially been omitted from the music category xD

Seriously though country doesn't count? And rock's a pretty loose term. No wonder it's winning. Are we talking Beatles, Buddy Holly, The Who, Zeppelin, Pink Floyd, KISS, AC/DC, Ozzy rock or contemporary rock. It kind of varies a lot. And is punk, screamo, metal, etc. all rock too? :/

I voted rock, but I don't like all of the really heavy, scream-y stuff. (Although, maybe there are one or two I can listen to,) I mostly like 70s/80s rock. Actually, I like 70s/80s music the most in general. Darn, now that I think about it, instead of just rock, I should have just voted other. xD

People who generalize rap are anti-intellectual imbeciles, it's an incredibly creative and complex genre of music that can't be summed up with your stereotypes and cliches.

On the other hand, I don't really judge music by genre anyway. I listen to some rock, I listen to some rap. Artist by artist.

I listen to neither. I listen to Hardcore, Punk, Oi, Hatecore, and some metal.

So I GUESS I would have to say Rock?
