EdWin is just a short way of saying Ed/Winry pairing. AlWin would be Al/Winry. Don't feel too bad, I didn't know what the heck they were talking about either.

I dunno, I find the galleries pretty funny. All these preteen girls shrieking and clawing each others' eyes out over a cartoon character with whom they will never even speak, let alone commit unspeakable acts the like of which they're always clumsily RPing in their posts.

Heheh...I'm still waiting for someone to write the horrible EdWin in which they get married and have a boy named Edwin. Badfic leaves no pairing unscathed, and I'm always amused when one of my pet pairings gets especially butchered.

Sometimes I RP with my Ed plushie, but I don't believe he's possessed by the spirit of Ed, just the spirit that likes to annoy me.

Oh, beLIEVE me, I know all about ff.net. I've had an account there for something like six or seven years now. (Wow. Now I feel old...) I've grown steadily disillusioned with that site, yet somehow I still post things there now and then...

Yeah, I still have stuff on there, too. The excitement has been lost on me, because all the reviews I get are a bunch of crap like "OMG!! I LUVVV UR STORIE!!! blah, blah, blah, blah, blah. I want critique, dammit! How am I supposed to get any better if I don't get the proper critique!?!

And then I get complaints for not updating often. Sorry but if the only people reading my stuff are a bunch of prebubescent fangirls, then what's the point?

Exactly. It bugs the heck out of me when I spend hours nitpicking a vignette into the best shape I can put it in, carefully formatting it, and then all the reviews I get read "OMG your such a good riter!!!! LOL!!! upsate soon plz!!!!"

the gallery comments scare me sometimes.. everyone's calling Winry and Rose sluts (i can sort of understand Winry, what with the tube top and all, but ROSE???) and it seems like 80% of the posters haven't seen one episode (there are countless comments asking "what's happening here?", "why's my ed blushing/crying/etc?"). in addition to the Winry/Rose bashing, you'd think that they haven't seen a single episode!

When it comes to cosplaying, I tend to relate more to the male characters. Instead of wanting Ed, I want to BE Ed. Yeah, scary I know. I guess I'm more masculine than I am feminine. Don't get me wrong, I look pretty feminine (long hair, small, girly hips) and sound feminine and I adore guys. ^^;; I dunno, I guess it's just a really weird thing with me. So, naturally for MTAC (one month away! *spazzes*) I'm going as Edward.

I don't hate Winry. To the contrary, I think Winry's an awesome character. >D She's got a great attitude and mad skills and I love her FRIENDSHIP with Edward. I love Edward a hell of a lot too, he's my favorite character.

The reason I don't like EdWin is because I think Winry and Edward are so awesome as best friends, I think a pairing with them would take coolness away from both parties. I think there are more people that like her than not, and that EdWin is largely accepted through the FMA fan community. I personally don't like her so much as others, or the EdWin pairing, I don't think it'd work out. Though I'm all for AlWin, Winry herself is a bit on the annoying side for my preferences. I have the same thing with Lunamaria from Gundam Seed Destiny, I'm not too fond of the clingy yet 'independent' girls. Most every character has their haters, except for people like Al, and Nicol I guess.

quick question to the al/winry fans that don't like ed/winry because it's brother-sister love and slightly "incestuous" (or maybe there aren't any here, but nonetheless): wouldn't al/winry fall under that category as well? if ed is winry's "brother," i'd think that al also is. and not in the way that al is ed's brother, ed is winry's "brother," therefore al is winry's "brother;" more like al has a similar sisterly relationship with winry that ed does. seems a bit hypocritical to me.

Not just saying this because I'm an Ed/Win supporter, but Al and Winrys relationship seems more brother and sister to me. She doesn't try to attack him as often for one. As I've said, if you've seen the whole series you know nothing will happen between them any time soon.

I do take the point of them being more like brother and sister to some, it's just I see something extra there because of the fact she acts differently toward the two Elrics. I realise they have different characteristics for her to react to.
I suppose only the other Ed/Win supporters will understand what I'm getting at.
