I'm having a debate with my friend about which animal is better. Help?

I personally like dogs MORE than cats, but i like cats too





<In my attempt to weed out "not really a debate" thread from Debate District, after reading the posts on this thread, I'm moving this thread from Debate District sub-forum in Open Chat forum, to Spam Central forum because instead of debate on "which is better and why??" it seems to be attracting simple "which do you like" posts. I had to null vote, cause I've had cats and dogs as pets! It would be too hard to choose one over the other.

I used to really like cats. They are soo cute and independent (which means not much work).. but I became more attached to the loyalty of dogs.
Now I'm not completely crazy over them like I used to be...
I like both, but am still a dog person. I don't think I completely grew out of my craze.

Oh god this is a hard Vote. If I vote Nekos than I'll be a kyo fan and if I vote Dogs than im a Shigure Fan but im a neko_san fan aswell ahh I'll vote.... dogs but im still a Neko fan!

i voted i don't care, cause this vote(a vote where it's the question between cats and dogs, my most favorite pets) would cause sadness to me if i voted for one of the 2 choices, cause they both got their (dis-)advantages..:

cats:
- seem to be from another planet(they juss don't care about us humans )
- are very clean
- are dangerous
- are like immortal
- are beautiful(i mean the slender ones)
- are quiet

dogs:
- are the man's best friend^^(so loyal^^)
- like to be disciplined by man, like to protect
- are clumsy
- are strong and got good muscles
- can be very loud
- have a good heart

I am a very mello person, sonI like cats, they are lazy just like me...
Me and my cat sleep all day, he is always with me if I'm home...
And my cat is bigger than most cats. He is getting old, but you can't tell, the vet thought we were lieing when we told them his age.

Actually, I read about a seeing-eye cat in a book once.

I like them both. They are like apples and oranges. They both have their good and bad points. As an apartment dweller I like cats better because I don't have to take the cats for a walk in the cold and rain.

My mom has like a fear of Cats from her childhood,and she will not tell me why!

I love both. I have a cat named Angel which is really ironic because he always kills mice. I also have a dog, named Tor. But I voted dogs because I always wanted one so bad, I'm practically obessed with dogs.

I voted I don't care. I personally perfer cats, or at least all the cats I have ever owned are so nice. I mean my favorite cat which is still young named Mist maybe a stone cold killer when it comes to pests like mice, cockroaches, and sparrows, but he is so nice to humans. He follows me when I walk my dog, so I take my cat and dog for a walk, my fat cat Smokey does the same thing except he has this loud shrill screech which makes me pick him up and throw him back in the house. Wait a tick that dog is my sisters, so why do I walk him, oh yea she will sock me with a wrench I shoulda never let her watch FMA with me /sigh

Pup's are so adorable, and so are dogs. Kittens are cute, too, but when they get older, they're not so cute anymore. Plus, dogs are good protectors are energetic, like me! Cats are too lazy

Actually, dogs do something very similar to purring. At least mine does.

Cats are fun to drop on people. Especially is you only get a glancing blow and the cat isn't declawed.

But enough fun - I voted cats because they are small and flexible and the only thing I have anyway.

Final thought:
I'd like to see a dog bend the way some cats do!

In general, I'm a dog person. They are so adorable. The only thing is that being a college student, I'm soooo busy and right now a cat is more desirable because they are cheaper and easier to manage. In general though, cats have less room for error with me than dogs. I plan to have both simultaneously at some point in my life though.

I love the really affectionate cats. I pretty much want a dog in a cat's body. I have encountered cats that are like this. This one cat I used to take care of would come right up to you, try to climb your legs until you picked him up (but didn't let out his claws oddly), and then when you picked him up, he would wrap his arms around your neck and start purring like CRAZY. He was literally giving a hug. Then he'd want you to hold him forever and ever. He was sooooo sweet and I even cried when I had to leave him. I've never cried over a dog. So for that reason, cats have a sweet spot on me. If cats didn't have the claws and the sandpaper like tongues, I'd probably be more inclined to prefer them hands down.

I like cats better because... well, eye-witness of a dog that bit my dad when I was 4.

I like both a lot...but have never been allowed a dog, but I'm getting a kitten next week . My friend's cat just had a litter of 5 (which is quite a lot judging the average to be 4), so she's got a lot of kittens to give away .


The other question is, do you prefer male or female cats or dogs? (personally I prefer female...they seem to be less energetic and erratic....lol)
