greetings! I've finally got an account on this site! and yes, I am in fact a newbie and I just want to share some of my fanarts that I drew....for your reference, I started drawing around August of this year so it may look pretty bad...but constructive criticizims(sp?) are very much appreciated (if you have an account at DA, please comment there if you can)...thanks and it's in order of recent to old so the last one's the worst one there XD

Check your proportions, I had that problem when I began.
I bought an anatomy book to study, but I realy want to disect a human, thats the way the artists used to do it... but I bet they wouldn't have that in art class now.

I like a bit the second one (bishi Edo), but he doesn't look like Ed... the others are crappy *sorry*... But if you started drawing in this august, they're not that bad...

....is that a good thing or a bad thing? I mean fanarts doesn't necessarily have to look exactly like to acutal thing.

I think, it's not good or bad, it's just like it is. You're right, fanarts shouldn't look exactly like originals... but they need some similarity...

I think you've got a lot of potential. Especially since you haven't been drawing that long. (I liked the drawing of Ed's head the best) My biggest piece of advice right now is that you that you're focusing too much on creating a style. Style comes naturally in time. For now, while drawing anime characters is much more fun, you should take a sketch book with you where ever you go and practice drawing real people and objects. Try really hard to capture what they really look like, that way when you stylize them they'll be ten times better. Keep up the good work!

You do have potential. But man I hated that puppy drawing, not your fault I just cant stand it when people do puppy or car versions it just sorta ticks me off. Dosent Ed usauallly wear gloves to hide his metal hand?

awwww, i loved the poppy one, but my fav was the animated one.

The dark brown spot was supposed to be the shadow but I messed up on that ^^;;


I have already tried doing realism but it sucked but I guess practicing won't kill me. Anyways thanks for the advice. ^^

I don't usually do dog/cat drawings but since it was my friend's birthday and I had no idea what to draw so I drew that and I also wanted to make it cute so I made them into dogs. And yes, Ed does wear gloves but a dog wearing gloves? Not quite natural.

I wasn't a fan of the first five, but the rest were cute! Especially the Ed/Vash one! Sooo kawaii and funny!

Yes..well they are quite old and I've improved a lot since then.

And here's a random realistic lips that I did on oekaki (with a mouse...could've been better if I had a tablet T-T)!
