Growing up with three elder brothers... *cough* I've learned to love the opposite of what's considered appropriate for my gender. So yes... just ask Defining Mind... *nods* V.V;

It takes a REAL man to wear pink.
JudasPriest1
I am the anti-girly.I have a bunch of guy friends and I give them noogies and punch them in the arm as a friendly jesture, we play soccer and whoop'em cause they can't play soccer for didly! And the only reason I have guy friends that don't have crushes on me (even though at one point they did, I know because my sources told me)is because I'm extremly brutal to them(hurting them on a daily basis)I just slap'em up side the head. laugh.gif

That's not weird! The old teenage mutant ninja turtles was great.
Celestial Shadow
Can't we like both things and be normal? ;_;
JudasPriest1
I consider you wierd if you like either. But there's noth'n wrong with be'n wierd 'cause I wierd in my way. The 'scare the preps with my double goints and see how long it takes for them to get as far away from me as possible.' wierd. biggrin.gif
Prinz_Zoisit
i find pink shirts cool.....i mean if a boy wears it... and if he doesn't look gay with it^^
Luckyalchemy27
I've always been a big tomboy. I refuse to wear pink, or play with dolls. Everyone gets me girly stuff for Christmas and my birthday, but I'd much prefer to be out mucking stalls or something.
FMAlover^
Yes,of course.I am a girl and i love shooting,racing and fighting games...Its okay...
mongooseboi
^let's go out. :]
Tamago
I said yes. I like boy things as much as girls. tongue.gif
Envy's lil' miniskirt
I chose yes.

I've never been much of a girly girl. As a kid I was a tomboy and hated to wear dresses. I would play with bugs, toy guns, toy cars etc. I still do only now it's real cars, real guns and spiders from exotic lands. I like to get gussied up and go out just like any other woman but for the most part I'm still a tomboy.
ed's numbuh 1 fan
it's weird i am such a girly girl and yet...i play v.games and go on the compy(< my new word for computer biggrin.gif )but i can't stand getting sweaty and all that boy stuff smile.gif
fullmetal_4eva
well when I was lil' I used to think "toys for boys" were so cool! Of course I also liked barbies and ect. So I put indifferent. I like stuff guys like (skateboard games, certain shows, and video games)
Aog
I said no.
People should be able like what they whant to like.
AlphonseRules
I think that girls are more likely to play with boy toys than vice versa. I mean our toys are just more fun. biggrin.gif

*raises hand*

Hai! I totally agree! (I grew up playing with Legos, video games, and Hot Wheels cars. I hung around guys and I have more guy friends than girl friends. biggrin.gif)

And I'm proud. tongue.gif
Sleeping Forest
...i LOVE violent video games!!!...

...my mom was horrified when i didn't turn into the girly girl she'd hoped for...

...and the dresses and skirts she's bought me are rotting in my closet...

...i can hold my own against any guy in a "boy" game!!!
japaneseobesession
"I am indifferent!"

why? I don't care. Let the kids follow what they want... as a really small kid (just a mere littler than me) I always hated barbies o.o ...and I always played with like... plastic guns, wrestked, built forts, made houses out of legoes, etc. My mom was never against that... but I always loved stuffed animals xD
the_lightning_alchemist10
Of course i voted yes! I was a girly-girl when i was younger by force, i was always surrounded by barbies and stuff, when i wanted to play with those Hess trucks Hess gives out at x-mas. But know after i got my PS2 (my excuse was the gay girly games) it's all shooting, raceing, and fighting here on out! Of course though my mom still thinks "it's inappropriate for girls.".....oh well that's why i have my dad buy them biggrin.gif. though no matter what, i will have like no athletic ability.
Demonhunter399
i chose yes we can do what ever we want.
StrawberryShampoo
I have never been much of a girly girl. I grew up watching my mom play video games like Resident Evil, racing games, other horror games, Zelda, Metroid, and Tomb Raider. I was perfectly happy watching her play, and I was perfectly happy playing them myself.
I also chose hot wheels and transformers over dolls, and I have never been able to stand pink and frils.

Kitty Alchemist
I never like to play with dolls or anything like that. I like to play shooting, racing and fighting games.
chica rockbell
I response yes because girl stuff is ok but I more interested in themes of the opposite sex. I like very much guy stuff. I like very much boys XDDD
Lone Wolf
I'm a total tomboy, and I have no liking for the color pink, dresses, or makeup... My choice of clothes are jeans and a t-shirt and a pair of sneakers. Feh... don't really care 'bout my hair, so I just pull it up into a pony-tail. Another thing that most girls love to do but I don't is shopping. I hate spending hour upon hour just trying on random things... I go to the mall or store knowing what the heck I want to buy, get it, and get out!

Oh, and when I was younger, I'd always play with the boys (like games where we were ninjas) instead of play house or that sort of stuff. I hated barbie dolls. Instead my friends and I played with those beast transformers! laugh.gif
RainDancer58
There's no problem with it. I'm into mostly "boy stuff" and I'm a girl.
Sharingan Serpent
I'm a tomboy too because I usually go for boy stuff like boys clothes, boys games, boys stuff really... laugh.gif
quiddityofquid
It's true that what are considered boys' toys are much more fun to play with. I've never liked girl-type toys, mostly because a lot of them revolved around dolls, at least where I was, and I have automatonophobia, and dolls scare the h*ll out of me. But everybody likes shooting things. Boys' clothing is just easier to move around in and participate in an active lifestyle in. Etc.
MeLRizA
hahas... my brother and i are somewhat against this... i love racing cars while he plays soft toys with my sis... laugh.gif i think itx normal... im 17 he's 14... laugh.gif
at least he's not gay as he sometimes accompanies me play arcade shooting/fighting games...

You say that as if its a bad thing?

And im indifferent to stay on topic. tongue.gif
Blitz
I don't know why people think it's weird for a girl to like "guy's" stuff. I mean, I play video games, watch gory anime, read shounen manga, etc. Take for example, Tsugumi Ohba (creator of Death Note) and Hoshino Katsura (creator of D.Gray-man) and we can't forget Arakawa Hiromu, all are mangakas that have/had their works published in shounen manga magazines. The fact that they're women don't stop them from continuing their work.
Popogeejo
I've noticed that people have no problems with girls being Tom boys but I have yet to see the reverse. Guys can't like girly things without being called gay.
Example 1;
Girl: I'm wearing Trousers because I'm a modern Woman.
Most of Soceity: Good for you!

Guy: I'm wearing a Skirt (Not a kilt) because I'm a Modern Man.
Most of Soceity: TRANNY! UR GAY! LOLz.

Example 2:
Girl: I'm a Lesbian!
Most of Society: Hooray!...can we watch?

Guy: I'm Gay!
Most of soceity: Dude, weak. You sissy b*tch.

Guys can't win.
sweety_pie
I think popo does have kind of a point.
Prinz_Zoisit
thank you all for your comments... especially poopogejio^^

one of my thesis is:

>>
It is right that the "male (guyish) gender" itself represents "adaption to (and inside) society" and it is therefore right even for girls to adapt to society by being guyish and not otherwise!

rolleyes.gif It's because most boys don't play soft toys at that age.. I disturb him by calling him "gay", he knows anyway.. laugh.gif
Roy Jr.
I can't even imagine playing with girly stuff... dry.gif

Cars and ball games rock!! laugh.gif

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in reality shows and soaps (sod it, in general TV) they nearly always have a gay person, but never as many lesbians.

Guys go 'woo lesbo's' as they get to see two women do it, its not anything but that.

Thats TV though where moral values are overly stressed to stupid levels. It's just a more complex way of slamming "It's ok to be gay" into peoples heads.

I still belive it's harder for guys to come out. I have nothing to back this up other than thats the genral vibe I get from people.
Chiyo
Yea fair points, but like you said TV is desperatly trying to convince people its okay for people to be gay. Society is trying to get people to accept it in some way. Lesbians are steroetyped, and frankly I see more men together in public then women.

I recently came upon a photographer (from Latvia. Whoo!) who put his thoughts like this (in the description of a photo that featured a guy with a pink stuffed bunny)

"Girls can wear jeans and cut their hair short, wear shirts and boots, because it's OK to be a boy,
but for a boy to look like a girl is degrading, because you think that being a girl is degrading."

(He was kinda hot too)

I'd say it's more of an equal representation thing. They can't just fill the show with all white guys 18-35.

I use man faye as a counter example.

Short Skirts plus hair ......

i'd embed the cartoon...but it would make some little kid have nightmares...

I'm not seeing your connection.

It's painful to see ugly people of either gender wear clothes they shouldn't. So...

I don't quite see the connection sorry. Its not equal if they show gay men, but not lesbians right? And I don't think colour or age has anything to do with it

ed_drink_your_milk
just about always having someone who is gay in soaps, it's mainly because when someone is gay, it is often more obvious then when someone is lesbian.
