If this was 'Favourite Film' of the year, the Dark Knight would rightfully walk it, but for 'Film Of The Year'? The Dark Knight was an enjoyable film, but not a great film.

I've chosen a film which I have not stopped talking about since I watched it; Slumdog Millionaire. And to quote myself; "When I first heard Danny Boyle, the director of Trainspotting, 28 Days Later and Sunshine among others, was attached to direct a Romantic Drama set within the deep confines of Indian culture and society, I laughed. However it’s Boyle who is having the last laugh, as he has created a chilling, yet warm, frightening, yet uplifting film that touches upon pretty much every human emotional response available, but will definitely leave you exiting the cinema with one feeling fresh in your mind and your gut; that you have seen something special."

Everything from Disney: Classics never die. No matter how old you get, you can watch them without feeling any need to be ashamed. I'm 19 and still every Christmas I get one DVD movie for my birthday. Last time it was Sleeping Beauty.

Pirates of the Caribbean: Orlando Bloom and Johnny Depp in the same movie? Count me in! One of my favourites, no doubt about it. Acting is superb, dialogue funny and the plot is interesting. Beautiful locations and good effect and yet they don't take anything away from the story. Even people who don't like action movies ( like Yours Truly) can enjoy this one.

Shawshanks Redemption: Highly underrated or either outdated, I don't know why people don't talk about it. When this movie was shown on TV, I forgot all about my homework and watched it to the end. The athmosphere was so intense and the characters were likable, not to mention that the performances, especially that of Morgan Freeman, were out of this world. The ending made me cry and after the last scene, I felt serene.

Taken: Underrated; A former FBI- agent goes out to hunt the criminals that kidnapped his spoiled, selfish daughter, that's the best summary I can give. Despite the amount of violence ( there is A LOT of it), this movie made me feel strong emotions for the main character ( Liam Neeson) and a I thoroughly enjoyed the experience.
