If you're looking for good, wholesome manga with very decent art work and you're a soccer fan, then I would suggest Whistle!. If you like manga with wonderful art work and you're interested in ghosts and Go, then I would suggest Hikaru no Go. If you like ninjas and badass, blond main characters with also decent art work, then I suggest Naruto. If you like exceptional art work with an involving, enigmatic story and human, and not-so-human, characters, then I would suggest Death Note. Above every thing else, if you like manga at all, then you must read FMA!!!!!!!!!

for sci fi theres AKIRA (it gets kind of

neer the end) and A Childs Dream (only 1 book long)
the only shonenai I've read is Eeriee Quirrie (so cute)
for murder mistories The Kindaichi Case Files
Also I like Ranma 1/2, Hana Kimi, Fushigi Yugi, and Love Hina
I've heard nothing but good things about Batle Royal and Fruts Basket

~ Manga Recommendation, Anyone got some good Manga you'd like to recommend? ~I've been searching around for a new manga to read lately, and I wonder if anyone here maybe have something kewl to recommend?
Personally I prefer Science fiction and horror mangas, but I'm pretty much open for everything.
So tell me a bit about your favourite manga(s) and why you love it so much. What it is about it that makes you go crazy if some douche screws up the translation or if it gets delayed?
thanks on beforehand

Sci-fi: Pluto, 20th Century boys.
Horror: Berserk

Thanks for the tip, although a description would've been kinda nice. From what I know Berserk is really dark and brutal, but it isn't really for me, being in a medieval setting and all. But maybe I'll check out the other ones you mentioned, or at least google them and see what they are about
(Sorry for replying so late, by the way. Haven't been able to use the computer for a while)

I haven't read much manga, but the manga I really like is fullmetal alchemist, InuYasha, and InuBaka. (none of these are really horror)
I have a friend who has this really good horror manga, but i can't remember what it's called.
It was something to do with spirals?

Eh, the closest to a Sci-Fi manga I've read is Chobits. It's good, if you're not afraid of warm and fuzzy feelings. >_>

Well, I think you might like the manga Parasyte if you haven't read it yet. It's a mix of Sci-fi and horror, my friend has it and I flipped through it and it looks pretty interesting. Then there's Dark Metro which is also a good one, more mystery - horror. Dolls is a really interesting manga, not really horror, one of those dramatic, serious, odd-ball manga. Higurashi no Naku Koro ni series (original creator is Ryukishi07), different manga titles starting with "Higurashi no Naku Koro ni". I heard it was a great series, so I planned to check that out myself. It also has an anime to it, it's like horror, sci-fi, gaming, mystery, some along those lines .
And one more I think is really, really awesome is Vampire Hunter D. I think there are 2 manga volumes out in America for Vampire Hunter D, several movies, and where the actual story came from, the book series (Over 10 I'm sure). My same friend recommends Judas, I was in the middle of that one, and it's okay. If you really like horror, Petshop of Horrors is AMAZING. I think so anyways, I only read some of the original Petshop of Horrors though and not the Tokyo version. There's a 4-episode anime to that I think.. There's "The Ring" manga series, there are around 4 or 5 titles to "The Ring". You know, the whole videotape thing, 7 days, you die sort of thing.. Trinity Blood is a pretty well-known one, I like it, but I don't really think it's scary, just bloody.. Elfen Lied is amazing as well, but I think it's more gore than scare, and definitely some sci-fi in there, drama, with nudity of course. I don't know what the manga is really like, I've read the first several pages, but I know the anime is awesome.
So for horror, sci-fi, along those lines, I'd probably recommend (Some I haven't checked out yet of course, but it's more on my to-do list right now):
Parasyte
Dark Metro
Judas
Dolls
Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (Anime & manga)
Petshop of Horrors (Original/Tokyo version, anime & manga)
Vampire Hunter D (books, anime movies, and manga)
The Ring Series (Movies --> the live action one and manga to it)
Trinity Blood (anime, books, and manga to it)
Elfen Lied (anime & manga)
Just a few I know that you might like in the horror, sci-fi. There are way more of course.

@Rain Alchemist: Haha, I've read a few pages in that book, I thought it was pretty f:ed up, though still sort of interesting. Up until now I didn't know what it was called, so thanks for that
Popogeejo.
@Blysse: More reluctant than afraid ^^ My girlfriend gives me enough of that, thank you. But hey, thanks for posting though
@Artixte: Wow, thanks for the great tips

You really took the time to describe everything and you did it pretty good too. Really appreciate it. I'll definetly check some of those titles out. Especially Parasyte, Dark Metro, and Petshop of Horror seems pretty awesome.

Fullmetal Alchemist of course is a no brainer.
Besides that, I REALLY liked the manga for Fruits Basket. For those who have watched the anime, which is also very good, the manga keeps going past that and is just so... good!
Death Note always kept me at the edge of my seat.
Detective Conan is a fun manga. It's a good mystery series if you wanna take a break from following an intense plot. You can literally pick it up from any chapter and would understand it xD

Fma obviously XD
D.Gray-Man is really awesome, anyone who lies fma will likely like dgm too
Pandora Hearts is a FANTASTIC series, when it picks up its brilliantly written, allways keeps you on your toes and the artwork is definatly one of my favourite styles ever
Tsubasa Chronicles is also a pretty good read thou it suffers from imballanced writing, the first half of the story seems kind of bland yet the 2nd half is pretty epicly awesome xD Corse it has Fay in it and that makes up for everything xD
Lovely Complex is a hilarious shoujo, probably my favourite, realy good for lulz
those are probably my favs
