I am glad you liked it, and yes, I know it is girly... I watched the first 3 eps and I wasn't sure if I would continue to finish it because so far, it hasn't interested me that much.

a ) This is a MANGA, not an ANIME.
b ) This is set in a completely different world from the original series. It's not a sequel of any sort. It's basically a doujinshi made by the original creators.

It just doesn't match the mood and intensity of the show at all. You've got a dark, ultraviolent anime with an OP song that sounds like a bad Japanese clone of The Grifters [ironically, one of my favorite indie rock bands, but whoever does the Berserk OP is a very pale imitation].
Well you have a point there. I always felt it didn't fit anyways. It just seems cheesy for, like you said, a dark and super violent anime.
I feel the urge to watch Berserk now. One of the few animes that I actually own.
