well, I know that there's going to be a fullmetal alchemist photoshoot/gathering, though I don't know on what day yet. that would be a fun place to meet up.

Someone should make a REALLY big sign for the club so that people know where to meet exactly.

I don't know if anyone mentioned this one. But I didn't see it up here, It's Anime Central in Illinois it's like may 13-15.So it's coming up I just waned to inform you guys.

There's Mechacon in Lafayette, LA that's going to be pretty good coming up in august, Numa Rei no Con and Tanuki Con in 2006 (also in LA)

Momocon and AWA in Georgia....

AWA is in texas in 2-3 weeks!!

For the FF Ball my boyfriend and I are going as Mr. and Miss Brightside from the Killers' video for Mr. Brightside.

Will possibly have my Ed cosplay made by then, but because of moving and junk, that might not happen.

Will also most likely be doing a version of Asuka from evangelion some point during the weekend.

There is an Otakon convention coming to Baltimore Maryland at the end of August.

I went last year and my Dad just dropped me off and left me in there for 2 hours by myself T.T I don't even know if my mom will let me go this year after that. Tis wasn't my fault! He was supposed to stay with me! Anyways, I hope you have a fun time at Otakon. If my mom lets me go with my friends ( Key word: If) I will be cosplaying as Ed, Mustang and Scar...my bishies

This will be my first Otakon. I went to Katsucon a few years back though. For Otakon we're going up Thursday night to stay at a friend's the whole weekend.

You're lucky that you're going thursday. If my parents let me go, my friends and I will be going up Friday, after band camp ( fear me, I'm the phyco tuba chick ) Our band director would kill us if we skipped out on band practice. My football coach would also kill me, but he would understand if I gave him a 2 month heads up.
As to Alchemy's Lover, yes, MANY people live within a 3 hour area of Baltimore. You should just see how many peole show up for the convention; it's packed! Word of the wise: Don't wear heavy clothes or clothes that absorb heat.

Uh thanks for the advice but I am a regular at Otakon so I know the tricks of the trade so to speak. I fact I pass the convention center every day on my way to and from school.

Tubas are cool At least band camp will be fun. I had to give up going on a beach trip in order to make it for Otakon. I really wanted to do both, but I felt it was just time to head to a con since it'd been a while. I looked at the stats for Otakon. It has been growing rather quickly by the year with 20,000 in attendance last year. No worries. I'll be wearing light colors and light clothing.

DC just built a newer bigger convention center. They had the American Idol auditions there. I hope major anime events start coming here. It's more convenient for me

Actually they have limited the number of con goers this year I don't know the amount but I know I need to sign up and soon.

Oh just stuff like about weather and costumes. Also get there early and do a 3 day pass because it will make life so much easier. Oh and if you wear a hug me sign then you are bound to get glomped at one point or another.

YES!! LISTEN TO THE SMART PERSON!! It is true, Otakon does get very foul smelling. Last year, I saw someone walking around in a giant outfit of Kero from Cardcaptor Sakura. You know that person must have been really hot and REALLY working up a stench because they're body was incased in a giant outfit. Poor person, my heart goes out to you for wearing that outfit in the summer time

Oh definatly I can stink there. That is why my made up cosplay character had a skimpy outfit.

Kanakage did you maybe see my friend and I if you went on Friday? I was the girl with the tight red shirt, black shorts, and blue kitten ears and my friend was a pink haired, red jumper with a white blouse bunny.

My sister and I were planning on going to Otakon this August.
Unfortunately after checking their website, I think they no longer have one day passes because of the amount of people attending. ;; Funny thing is that we were only going to attend the Con on Saturday. Now we may have to register for ALL three days. >_<
So is it really better to register for all three days? What about hotels and such. Are those going will be staying in one or just driving home, sleep/eat, drive back...etc. : ) That's what we may have to do...haha.

Also transportation wise...We may have to enlist my sister's boyfriend to come along to...(he can drive swoots!)

I'm not sure if it has been mentioned already but itf there is anyone living on Canada's west coast, there is an anime convention in Burnaby BC, called anime evolution. It's actually pretty good as far as conventions go, I have been there every year since it was opened to the public. There are a lot of good guests that show up, and great video rooms, dealers rooms, artists allety's, etc.

Wow, I never thought that I would be posting here. I have never been to an anime convention in my life sad to say. Now, I am actually going to have the opportunity to go to Otakon in Baltimore Maryland. I am to meet my boyfriend there, but have no idea what to expect at a convention. If anybody is going, I would greatly appreciate information regarding some of the things that I should definetly check out. From the sound of it, the convention sounds huge. I am already overwhelmed, but it sounds incredible.
