I don't suppose any Brits here know if there's going to be a con in Glasgow this year like there was last year? I heard about it a few weeks ago, and I'm really interested in going if it's on again...

The Anime con I went to yesterday will end today.Luckily,I bought there Ed's state pocket watch,the manga version.

Will anyone be going to anime vegas? (held in Las Vegas,NV of course) if so I will be there.

It will be held labor day weekend by the way.

Sydney-siders~ SMASH! is going to be held at The Roundhouse at UNSW in Kengsinton on the 18th of August!
It goes from 10am to 6pm.
Tickets are cheaper than that of Animania and according to my friends, it's way better.

Okay, I'm doubting anyone lives close enough to attend this but I figure I'd announce it just to be sure in case anyone is in the area.

In 2 weeks, Animethon 14 starts in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada! It is being held at Grant MacEwan College from the 10th to the 12th. The 10th is the anime dance party, while the rest of the con activities start on the 11th.

This con used to be very small, but has grown considerably in the last two years. Two years ago we would never have gotten a name like Vic Mignogna to come. In fact, he was the last person I ever expected to come. *Fushi does a little squee*

For any Sydney-siders lurking around, SMASH! is coming up again on August 2nd and I think it's still going to be held at UNSW's Roundhouse . It's only their second year so the tickets should be cheap ($15 for at-the-door payment).
Then there's Animania on the 23rd to the 24th of August. Tickets are about $20 - $30 depending on whether you pre-reg or not and how old you are. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. >_>

Going to SMASH!, seeing as how I'm counted as a minor. ;_; For anyone else going to SMASH!, one of my friends is part of the Artist Circle section, going by the name of Peppermint Love. Check it out!

Welp, Fanime 2k9 officially starts today (I picked up my badge yesterday however) and I'll be down in San Jose for the most part of the weekend.

I've been thinking of cosplaying - but it's dependent on whether or not I find something. Should be fun though, as I'm bringing my cousin who has never gone to an anime con before and she's really hyped up about it.

I met him last year at the Funimation booth at Anime Expo - he's a lot shorter than I thought he'd be. I actually got a hug from him (since I was actually a staffer and had run from my shift - clear across LACC - in order to get an autograph) for thanks and my hard work at the con.

That's really nice. I'm sorry I meant does he usually go to Otakon specifically? I never find him on the list of East Coast cons. Maybe I'm not looking in the right places.

He apparently last showed up at Otakon in 2007. Yeah, he doesn't really seem to be around the east coast that much. He made it to Katsucon this year for the first time in six years, and hasn't been to Anime Boston or AnimeNEXT since '06. (according to animecons.com)

(Damn, and just when I decide not to go to Otakon... Oh well, at least I caught Travis Willingham last year.)

They had a good lineup in '05/'06 when they had Vic Mignogna, Travis Willingham, Laura Bailey, and Caitlin Glass, but since then not much. They had Monica Rial in 07 and Brad Swaile in 08, but last year Greg Ayres was their biggest name and he didn't even show up.

^This year Greg was there... and he wasn't supposed to there last year... Hell, Yuri Lowenthal was there last year! He's friggin Sasuke Uchiha. This year was Greg Ayres, Brittney Karbowski, Chris Ayres, John Swazey, Micah Solusud and a few others.

I got Brittney's autograph. Wanted Greg's and Micah's, but their line was closed before I could get it.

Yep~ I've met a lot of VAs actually :0 I met Vic twice XDDD~ Crispin Freeman, Kyle Herbert (he made a song about me lol), Brittney Karbowski, Greg and Chris Ayres, Carrie Savage, Chris Sabat... and I could have seen Monica Rial and Johnny Bosch but I missed them at Tora con. Also almost met Light Yagami's VA, but I missed him too ; ; But I hopefully will make it to FanExpo again this year to see Yuri and Light's VA. And then some of the other VAs at AN had their lines closed off so I couldn't see them ;w;

Brad Swaile i beleive did the voice for Light Chris R Sabat i think played Nagi in the first series of Negima!? HOLY HELL A WHOLE WEEKEND? how did you manage that? relatvies?

Chris was Satan in Negima, not Nagi~
And he was at UB con. It's a really small con, and I went all 3 days. You can basically just hang out with the VAs like they're your best friends. I saw all his panels, and watched him play Axis and Allies (lol) with someone.
And Vic was at Tora con, and Anime North.
And then Crispin was at FanExpo.

I usually attend UB con, Tora con, and Anime North. Last year I did UB, Tora, AN, FanExpo, and Anibash. I try to make it to as many cons as I can XDDD And the US has SO many cons every year. So many I wanna go to~ But mind you, FanExpo and AN are in Toronto (Canada). They're just close enough we can make it to them from the area I'm in (Buffalo, NY)~

LOL i love how you just said he played Satan in Negima like it was nothing XD now there for me are plenty of reasons to move to the u.s quicker i'm still saving up for october when the mcm expo comes back after several months of probably unpredictable English summer XD still not sure whether i should cosplay or not though. my friend tells em she plans on doing it so maybe.
