I think it's generally agreed by a majority of the internet community that ff7 was the best, although some say ff10. I personally like 7.

Final Fantasy VIII, because I'm a freak.

I chose FFVIII. I always have a hard time deciding between this one and FFIX. Maybe I should've picked FFIX?

To me it's #7. And so it will remain, for me anyway.

Although Cloud is my favorite character of all time, FFX wins for me. It was my first FF... kind of like a gateway drug.
X-2 was blah, though. The characters didn't wear ANYTHING.

Ff 7...iIts a master piece and lso my first ff...i have done everything that you can do in there still i play it some times...Im pretty sure that it will stay best ff cause what i have heard square will stop ff's to ff 13...that is really a bummer...Some one please correct me if it snt true it would be big relief...

I liked 7 the best awsome storyline... but over all i liked 10 just as much so i can't truly decide... and i din't like 10-2 one bit

FFVII it's the best. To me has the best story and was the first game out of the series to have graphics. Not to mention playing with Chocobos were fun and playing with them XD. I didn't like Final fantasy 8...... , Final Fantasy 5,6 were fun too.

I agree with some people that X-2 was stupid. I went into a store and it was on the 50% off shelf. Normally that's the place for the really crappy games.... it looked rather dumb. Final Fantasy 10 was fun though

But I'm sure they wouldn't just up and stop producing games for the Sony system. I have difficulty seeing Square Enix just suddenly start mass-producing new games for Nintendo. *shrugs*

I highly doubt as well that Square will just give up Sony. Though they have been known to just high tail form one company to the next in the past. Example, when they switched from Nintendo to Sony. Bu that was just because Nintendo decided to stick to using cartirdges for the N64 and Square knew that the games they wanted to start making wouldn't work on the cartridges of that day...
Also, I went old school and voted for FFVI, though it was tough to choose between that and FFVII.

Ohh, good job, definingmind. Out of FFVII and FFVI, I would have chose that one, too. Not sure why, but something about VII just irks me . . . might have been the soundtrack.

It might've been the soundtrack? I loved the soundtrack to that game, but to each their own, right mom?
Also, just wondering, if we're voting on all the FFs, where is FF Tactics? Or FF Mystic Quest for that matter?!

I'm surprised nobody has mentioned Dawn of Souls (FFI and FFII rereleased for GBA). It's surprisingly good, especially for those of us who aren't old enough to have played the originals.

FF9, and for the record cloud beating sepiroth is one of the most unbelievable video game moments of all time; the number one most unbelievable video game moment time being the entire Boy and His Blob game.....

ff7 was the best game ever. but what i heard in a magazine really dispointed me.cloud was the coolest and now its on vencent what went wrong?But ill still going to buy it.also ff10 was cool and i ant wait till 12 comes out.

I don't understand why FFX is so "great." To me, it's rather overrated.

Well, the music, for one, was brilliant... I love playing the scores on the piano. The art work was beautiful... the plot was... unorigianl, yes, but endearing... but yeah, game-play was crap...

I think the FFX soundtrack is the weakest out of the entire series, followed by FFX-2. That's just my opinion though. The arrangements . . . they have too many for one melody. And RIKKI's voice didn't sit too well with me the first time I heard it. If you want an excellent soundtrack, try FFVIII or IX.

And sure, the graphics are nice, but everything else was just . . . not up to par.

True, but I'd prefer the instrumental version over the vocal one any day. It's just the violin solos that make it that beautiful, I think. RIKKI's voice is too high-pitched for me.

the only musical piece i like on FFX was the hymn of the fayth. in general i don't really like the game, but i LOVE blitzball.

Yes, that one is fun. The first FF I ever actually sat down and completed. I love the Ability/Equiping system. And the plot isn't bad either.

the only thing i didn't like about the game was finding the ultima weapon... that chocobo game thing was SUCH a bitch, that and mognet. though i do find the Fat Chocobo completely hilarious

Mognet was annoying, and I never really did play that Chocobo Hot'n'Cold game very much. I haven't had time to search for the Ultima weapon yet. What did the Fat Chocobo look like?

Also, I didn't understand why I had to fight Necron at the end. It was like Square thought, "Oh, wait, an effeminate villain isn't good enough. We need something random and we'll stick it at the end. Surprise, kids!" I didn't really expect that one, and Auto-Regen saved me.

the worst boss was osma... i don' know if you fought him, he's one of the hidden bosses. i think he was the one you have to beat for Ark. if you haven't fought him, he's a god damned planet!!! though if you didn't fight him, i'm pretty sure you never get Ark, the coolest summon EVER.

the fat chocobo is a chocobo thats around 35 feet tall and 25 feet wide, with tiny little legs. she's the head chocobo or something like that. also you have to complete ALL the chocobo stuff for the ultima weapon, its found in the last game.

what exactly is the prize for completing mognet? i just didn't care enough to do it.

Actually, I remember having Ark in my possession. You have to defeat Hades in Memoria and have 2 Pumice Pieces, which you can then synth for a Pumice, and that is how the eidolon Ark is summoned. I do recall using Ark once or twice. I think I went that route instead of getting it straight from the Ozma battle.

I never went to look for Ozma because I got lazy.

As for Mognet, there is no final reward for being the Moogles' mail(wo)man, although you get these sporadic prizes throughout (like a Kupo Nut or something; I don't remember).

And that chocobo sounds so . . . well, fat.

i thoroughly enjoyed FF8 and FF9... i never finished X or played X2, i concur that X was a tad overrated, tho i did like the new battle sequence layout. and blitzball was a fun sidegame even tho i sucked at it... i sucked at the cardgame in 8 even more tho... T__T i say 8 has teh best soundtrack tho.
