Yes! Manga characters can definitly be very attractive (look at Ed and Roy! lol) Being an artist myself, I draw manga characters to be atractive, and not necissarily in a perv sort of way. lol A character can have an attractive personality too..... people wouldn't want to read or watch manga or anime with unattractive characters (I think some one said that already, sorry). So, yeah I think Manga and Anime characters can be and often are drawn in a very attractive/hot way, which of coase makes them more appealing. Not to mention some of there awesome personalies! Thats part of whats so awesome about the Manga/Anime art style-and story lines. But hey! that's just my opinion.

Well, I do think some characters are hot.

There's a difference between being attractive and being well-drawin, isn't there? All anime characters are drawn to look good, unless it's the artist's intention to make them specifically ugly. So it's a character's personality that truly makes them attractive. I find myself just as turned off by airheads in the realm of fiction as those in reality. This is why your typical bishoujo type doesn't do much for me.

A very good point...I was just thinking the same thing. Sure, annoying characters can be "well-drawn"; but it's the "well-drawn" characters, whose personality makes a connection with you, who are "attractive".

Well, I think some characters are very hott (like Kyo Sohma from Fruits Basket!! He's uber hott! XD). But it's not that they are look good, it's their personalitys that draw me to them. If I don't like the way they act or how they are, it doesn't matter if they are good-looking, I won't like them.

At times I'm titillated by anime girls, other times, slightly disturbed. Like sometimes I'm bothered about how they over-sexualize teenaged women and minor girls. Its like dirty old Japanese men living out their fantasies.

I think anime girls are hot and gorgeous, however they are not fake. They are a very idealized, fantacized, and at times fetishized view of women, so its important not to take it too seriously.

Some characters are meant to be over-sexualized and others are not. I guess its just a matter of interpretation.
