the old style of fencing is with blood... there are still such clubs existing in germany that do such things..

the new style is soo quick that you can't really see if somebody has hit the other vice versa... and those white clothes are ridiculous^^

Depending on the people fencing, you either can or can't see them score touches very well- it depends on how hard they whack the other person...

So, here's the soprano-version of 'Undo' I promised to record like a month ago...

In terms of window-shattering, I don't think that will happen, as the ones about 3 feet away from me haven't cracked yet...However, the songs might put a strain on average human eardrums...so listen with caution (I will not be held responsible for anyone going deaf...)...

Right, so I split the songs into 2 recordings, partially because of the upload limit and also because my recording program only allows up to 3 minutes at a time. I *tried* to get rid of any blank gaps in between, though, so I would recommend saving both parts of a song and then opening them both in Windows Media Player or something...

Also note that 'Undo' is extremely high-pitched, so I might even recommend skipping that completely and only attempting to listen to 'Motherland...' ||

i...think i do have an exceptionally sensitive mic...that's just luck...but i also lucked out and had good software. i got a *coughcoughCRACKcough* version of some new recording software now, too, so i think the quality may improve even more. gave it to quisty, also, so let's see if it's the mic, the software, or both? plus i have good editing software, i play with it all the time, i think i've really gotten the hang of it.

and thank you, i was actually real happy with the way it came out. ^ . ^ that's not something i am usually able to say, i'm terribly critical of myself. only think i was mad about was i missed the cue at the end there, where she comes back in after the break... i *always* screw that part up, the timing is so tricky...

XD well, timing or no timing, i plan on singing that for otaku idol at otakon 2005. my sister and i are both contestants, so if anybody will be there, look for us! XD

I found something stuck in between all my documents. Apparently, I saved it in the wrong place and I forgot about it, so even I wondered where it went. It's rather short, and I'm surprised that I actually kept it in the first place.

Yeah, is it that your software records the music as it sounds on your computer, as opposed to the mic picking it up, and overlays your voice onto it? Because the music quality in your files are pretty much perfect.

What's the point of going? You already won. I would be very happy with ready steady. Undo is the next choice. I don't know if you've ever seen One Piece, but I have a bunch of themes that I really liked. I think if you liked em, you'd be able to sing them very well with your voice. (assuming Quis doesn't beat you to it)

@ Goldfish: no, the mic picks up the music from the speakers and me over it... i just...match the volume of my voice to the volume of the speakers, so it mixes well. takes a little finagling at the beginning of each 'session', but the effect comes out nice. thanks, i try to put forth a professional effort in my work.

and LOL! you are far too kind, my friend... what one piece songs? i don't have any one piece karaoke files...but if you have some, you can email them to me and i'd be happy to take a bash at them. i love 'hikari e' i think that's my fave one piece song. Eheheheh....The Undo files are both too large, as well as Part 2 of Motherland (I'm guessing this server won't take files over 2 MB or something?), so I'm going to try re-recording them on lower quality or something...||

Just so you know, that was kind of the limit of my vocal range at the beginning of 'Motherland' (unless I try for the other tiny slice of really low notes I can hit for some reason, which sound really flat...), so don't expect 'Undo' to be as undamaging to the ears...

With 'Motherland,' I can sort of hit those notes, but they still sound kind of shaky...I kept re-recording the whole thing because something kept messing up...I wasn't exactly satisfied with the version I posted, but I figured that random minor things would keep messing up...(Note: that was probably like...at least the 12th recording? My Recycle Bin became nicely filled... ) I think I kind of overdid the later parts of the chorus, though- my voice isn't supposed to start cracking...

wow, i really admire you guys with high singing voices. i can sing UNDO and match the original octave it was sung at (so i would be the exception), but i have issues with motherland....if i drop the chorus by a whole octave, it's doable which i'm guessing is impossibly low for quisty and the rest of you sopranos XD stupid low voice.

Seriously, it cracks all over the place unless I drink mug after mug of hot water (I drank like 14 mugs of hot water/hot cocoa when I was recording... ;;), and even then, it still fluctuates in the worst places...You might think my voice is similar to Quistis-san's, but it's not anywhere near as flowing and lovely-sounding...

So far, it seems like the maximum limit of an individual file is something like 2 MB, so you might want to split up your recording into seperate files... (there's no limit to the total combined size of the files, though, I think~)

Yes, I see what happens, you get horribly mean. That was no lie. I typed that without even thinking about it, so subconsciously, it is quite true that I must feel that way. I don't think threats are the way to force me to do it. Overwhelming kindness and khookies might though.
