Well the box set released this week comes with the volume 1 DVD, a tin box for the first five DVD volumes, and the 1st original soundtrack for Fullmetal Alchemist.

I was just thinking that it would be great if one of the special edition box sets came with a State Alchemist Pocket Watch. That would be so sweet and wicked awesome.

Funimation does that with all their DvDs, it is sort of annoying but it is over quickly. I just find it amusing that the preview for DBZ movie 10 really doesn't reflect what the movie is about at all.

I agree, I am hoping for that too

@ Kirara, for the pocket watch, go to ebay.
Hay I burned the FMA series, put them on disks for my comp. and then burned them into a DVD-R for my tv.

I don't like it either, especially since you can't skip it. But at least they only put one trailer at the beginning.

Yes.
QUOTE

Yes, but none of those you mentioned are on the first DVD. Just Melissa by Porno Graffitti.
QUOTE

They are showing Ready Steady Go for all the episodes that will be broadcast on Adult Swim. The original openings will be on the DVD's. The endings have been edited due to time constraints.
QUOTE

There are no "funi intro songs." All the music on the soundtrack is the original music from the series.

Hey guys, here's how to find the HIDDEN EASTER EGGS on DVD Volume 1!:
QUOTE
In the scene selections for each episode, if you highlight the scene marks as "IV" and press right, a hidden icon will appear. There is one for each episode, and it is the next episode preview with Ed, Al, and Winry's Japanese voice actors engaging in some weird and funny banter.

I wonder why they make these as easter eggs when the R2 and R3 have them as regular extra features... I prefer the one where a EdxWin moment is mentioned (around preview ep18 or so)

Feb 21 2005, 08:05 AM
I'm glad that they will be playing Melissa for the first 13 episodes, as it it supposed to be. Those people complaining about no Ready Steady Go will just have to wait for Volume 4

Besides, if you only listened to one opening song for the entire series, you'd get bored with it. These guys aren't "quite" bored with it yet, because they've only seen the first 13-14 episodes.
Anyways, I have to wait until March 5th to buy the starter set in Canada. But what's this I hear about an
"edited ending theme due to time constraint"? I want the endings on the DVD to be 100%

Chill Greensky, do not fret. That was just referring to the Adult Swim broadcast, where yes, the ending videos are edited/cut due to time constraints. All the original endings will be restored and intact for the DVD releases.

Just got the starter set. Im lovein it, but one thing is thoroughly pissing me off. Right on the tin holder, not 1 but 2 "As seen on Adult Swim" stickers. At first glance I thought they were on the plastic wrap, but no, theyre right on there, and not easy to remove! NOT COOL!
Beyond that, it's great!

To me it would be $29.48, 'cause shipping is $9.50. But Finland's currency is euro, so it will not be so expensive.

Yeah I had the same battle! The day I bought mine it was a slow day at work and I spent like 45 minutes getting them off! It was insane X_o First I pulled off the sticker and of course like 3/4 of it stays on the tin and it left all this nasty white residue that refused to get off, I eventually had to bust out with Goo Gone or whatever it's called, it's for removing that kind of stuff. So yeah I'm all like YES! The nightmare is over! And then I'm all happy and then I turn over the box...and I was like NOOOOOOOOOO so yeah I'm going to punch someone in the face if they do that with the other 2 boxes

I wonder what the reason for that was. I pre-ordered the starter set on Feb. 2 from amazon.ca because it said the release date was Feb. 8 - NOW the site says it comes out in March
If that's the case for the next volume that comes out, I might just have to order from amazon.com.

The Fullmetal Alchemist DVD boxset is coming to Australia next month with a tin box, DVD 1 and the soundtrack but I don't want to waste over $40 for the the DVD, boxset and the soundtrack when I don't even understand Japanese, so I will have to buy the DVD's separately. I hate waiting, I prefer buying the whole series at once or buying an anime that has all the DVD's in a boxset out already but Fullmetal Alchemist is really great soo I guess I will just have to bare with getting the DVD's individually

I do not have the dvd but I doubt fma is in widescreen as it was designed for tv ratio for tv broadcast.
AlphonseRules
May 24 2005, 02:02 PM
Just so you know Kis, it is calle widescreen. The reason that it's not in widescreen format on the DVDs is because it is not in widescreen when it is aired on TV. If they edited it to be widescreen for the DVD everything would be smushed down and also wider than its supposed to be. It wouldn't be pretty, trust me. The only show that I can think of that airs on TV in widescreen is Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex. There are probably other shows that do it to though.
