I would like to use our betrothement as leverage to persuade you into agreeing to draft a constitution wherein legislative power is delegated to a representative parliament led by myself. While lounging in the spa getting facial treatment and a total manicure, the queen hears that in the southernmost tip of the land, the village called Mateo, was plundered and siezed by barbarians. Not only are these barbarians skilled in fighting, but they are cruel beyond imagination. People are calling it the second rape of nanking. Meanwhile to the west, the villages there are also being attacked by mercenaries and avarice men, seeing the peaceful queendom as an easy target to gain riches. War is brewing also with the north for reasons yet unclear.

Don't we have an army of robot ninjas to take care of these things?

last i checked, i was ordered to guard the princess, so i'll send my lieutenant with the ninja army down south. or was my lieutenant the one who got banished or something?

This is all my fault. If I was a more capable ruler, then this might not be happening . . . the people do not deserve all these wars and the consequences of the battles. If only I had been more prepared for such occurrences, then perhaps . . .

CLAP!!! there is a bright red light that can be seen for miles.... at the same time there are reports of a massive towering wall of steel appearing out of nowhere at the borders of the queendom. the wall seems to surround the entire queendom. as the light fades there is nothing left where the encampment was, except for the unconcious body of the vizier which sinks into the ground....*

no, that is what is called an ambush, young dissident. Major Armstrong was given orders to place the array there a few days ago, for it was the most likely that the invaders had to pass that area on thier way to the castle. i will grant you access to the royal records to confirm such a fact if necessary.

unfortunately, there was a miscalutation regarding the village of mateo. by the time i was aware that the invading army was attacking them, it was too late to save them. so i felt that rather than sending troops to face the invaders in mateo, and thereby causing a protracted war, it was more prudent to allow them to be lulled into a false sense of security.

indeed the sacrifice of the villagers of mateo was a sad byproduct of this. but had our forces entered a protracted conflict more villages and lives surely would have been lost. thier sacrifice will not be forgoten by our people; nor, if there is any justice, by the gods as well.

however if the queen wishes, i will gladly give her my head for not foreseeing the deviation of the path of the enemy.

I do not blame these miscalculations on anyone but myself, and I will certainly not have anyone's head for compensation! Neither the queendom nor I can afford to lose the Vizier and surely, further plans can be made to ensure that this will not happen again . . .

*dashes off to find the Vizier*

*bursts forth from the earth in the village of Daruni, in the western part of the queendom. looks around and see mercenaries attacking the village*
