Well, color-coding good/evil is only a convention, and there are always exceptions...but note the luster of the feathers--most demons' wings would not have that kind of shine to them. They would absorb all light, reflecting none, and would be a dull hue, no matter the color. It's not so much that your wings are white--it could be simply a temporary discoloration--but that they can reflect light...*mei pauses* I don't want to give you false hopes. Since your basic nature is not that of a demon, there is a good chance that you can return to your own self, but I can't say how long that will take, or if it would even go beyond this patch of feathers. At this point, it's really hard to say.

*Stands and listens to Mei speak*
Temporary?...hmm Not to put your idea down, but perhaps I have retained more of my human side than I thought. Humans choose to be evil/good/or even inbetween. Perhaps you planted the seed and now that I have chosen to protect. It's spreading and expanding I can feel it. Very slowly though.

I would like you to give me another blast of white your magic. Even if I was to turn I dont know what my powers would be like, but I can feel some unfathomable power in me trying to get out. Plus I had this dream.....well...nvm

If you really want to test this, Xithion, there is a way. But I'm warning you now--it won't be easy. It's clear now that, for whatever reason, your transformation from human to demon was not complete. Thus far, your human spirit has been kept dormant while your demon side dominated. My magic can only awaken the human part of you, but it's up to your own will to determine whether your human spirit will triumph over you demonic side. But know that the demon within will not give in so easily, and will fight you at whatever the cost, even to your own destruction. So--are you willing to take the risk?

*Looks at Mei solemnly and nods*

I't sounds dangerous but then...I dont really care about that. Worse that can happen is my own destruction in which I'd end up back in hell. Been there....done that. Besides the prospect of changing back sounds too exiting to pass up.

*mei closes her eyes, bracing herself for the vast amount of magic that is to gather from every part of her body. She feels the "other" kind rushing through, but no, that's the what she wants. It is the white magic, and the white magic only--anything else would only contaminate the energy, and that would be disastrous for the desperate demon, hopeful human...and for mei as well. If she were not careful, the "other" magic would kill her...but she shrugs away that worry. This is not the time to doubt her abilities.*

*she begins the mantra and focuses her mind on the words. The flow of white magic in her body creates a glow on her skin, a bluish-white glow like when she healed Xithion before, but this time, it gathers to her hands. She feels the magic building in her palms...*

*...but the outward flow of magic has left her body weak. For a second, her mind falters as she feels the weight of gravity on her shoulders, and the "other" magic threatens to disrupt the flow of white magic. Mei quickly regains control of her mind and her magic, and she was able to rein in the "other," but she knew this task must be completed quickly*

*A sufficient amount of white magic has finally gathered in her hands. The air vibrates with the concentration of magic, and it takes all of mei's will to hold her hands steady. She cannot fail now. Xithion stands no more than two feet away. The determination on his face settles it with Mei. With her remaining effort, she sends the orb of white magic towards him.*

*She is weakened beyond her expectations. With the final release of the magic, mei sinks to the floor. She watches as the orb hits Xithion square on the chest, just as the hall dims and the world as she sees it turns black.*

*Watches as Mei gather the White Magic. He’s nervous but doesn’t show it. The orb comes at him and hits him directly in the chest.*

*Pain shoots through every part of his body. He is surround by a white light and lifted a few feet into the air. The pain is so intense he doesn’t even realize his own screams of pain. Something inside of him rises up and soon his in convulsing in pain. The demon and soul within are entangled in a vicious battle for control and a rush of dark magic rushes out and is mixes with the white magic like oil and water. Still screaming the both the light and dark glow dims and he is slowly lowered to the ground.*

*He lays their for several minutes in a state of shock and dismay. Then a for a second time he is surrounded by the white light. The process begins again and repeats itself several more times until the energies are absorbed/subside.*

*Finally as it ends he is left on the floor sleeping , shaking as if in fear of a nightmare.*

*mei slowly stirs. Pain shoots through her arms as she tries to raise herself from the ground. She looks are her hands. They are covered with burn marks, but even as she gazes at them in shock, the scars begin to fade. It is the "other" magic working, here, as she had spent all of the white magic in that single blast.*

*She sees Xithion lying on the floor, unconscious. mei is not surprised. He will sleep for some time, and mei does not envy him for the dreams he will have.*

*walking* Where is that darn king? *seeing Xithion sleeping* well, what does he sleeping in the floor

*the whirlwind of light appears once more, but this time in the throne room. it is carrying the king, who seems to be unconcious. four of the motes of light change into winged, elflike beings composed of light. an altar of silver appears from nothing, the four beings places the king upon it. they just stand there, seemingly guarding him, awaiting the return of the queen. all attempts by any other person to communicate with them are just met with a look of silent irreverance.*

*bows head and puts palms together... in an experiment...*

*a brilliant white light radiates from her, creating a sphere of brilliance...*

*looks around frantically….suddenly notice’s his wings…*

*enters the throne room and is startled by the first sight she sees; she walks towards the elf-like shapes of light and makes eye contact with all of them in turn*

BEING: my apologies for our unannounced arrival, your majesty. i am alarin of the order of silver, herald of ruiana the fairy queen. her majesty regrets not being able to come herself, but she is attending to our own races important matters at this time...

your husband has undergone a process that merged his mind with our queen, so that he may learn the information that will be needed to save your lands. unfortunately the mind of a mortal is not equipped to be merged with one of kind. his mind must restructure itself, he should be fine within a day.

we have been sent here to help with your chamber, as well as pledge our troops to your cause. we are few in number when compared to your kind, but we make up for that with eons of experience and the power we have gained in that time.

Much of the chamber's capabilities are still unknown. Mayhap you know a thing or two about its origin or its inner workings? Unfortunately, we have not been blessed with sufficient time to research and experiment, therefore, any information will be greatly welcomed.

*alrain stands and gestures for the other beings to leave. they immediately fade away; all the people in the room other than the queen, alarin, and the unconcious king are teleported into the courtyard.*

*its as if some power is preventing him from completing the sentance*

sorry... part of the pact we made with this ancient power was not to reveal too much to your people. which is why your husband had to merge with our queen, a small loophole we found in the pact...

so... just as we had resigned ourselves to our fate, this power came to our salvation once again. he brought your people here from another world that was on the brink of self destruction due to civil war. he erased your memories, made you forget about your home world and gave your people a fresh start.

our job was to secretly guide your people. who do you think taught humanity magic? who do you think guided your people to find the secrets of alchemy? how do you think a race of such, and i mean no offense by this, little power could have create the nexus chamber? we gave these gifts to your people as per our benefactor's directions. we have given your people hints and protected you from threats that your people never even knew existed; essentially we made sure you survived so you can guard what we could not.

but the threat that comes now is too great for you to handle alone. the time has come for the ancient and the modern to stand together; to keep our promise. my men and i were among those that helped create your chamber, and we have returned now to aid you in your use of it.

but ultimately we cannot do this for you. what is to come must be done by your people, that was one of the many conditions of the pact. it may seem wrong and cruel to your people that we did not stop these demons from entering this dimension, even when we have the power to do so. but i must point out that if you knew the all details of the pact, you would understand that even if we could it would have only done more harm than good in the long run.....

Ahh, that is understood. And no, it is not cruel or wrong of you to not hold the demons back with the powers that you possess. Your genuinely good intentions will be kept in mind. Since we have been entrusted with the task of protecting this land from the forces of evil, we will give our all not to disappoint. For the likes of demons, not a soupçon of mercy must be shown, and come the day of battle, I guarantee that our troops will be ready to engage in combat for the sake of our beloved land. ALARIN: thank you for your undestanding.... we trust that you understand that nobody outside of this room must ever know of what i have told you. it would lead to your people questioning their own existance, which would lead to chaos and war. humanity has shown that it does not inherently understand its only a bit player in the natural order of things, thus your people must believe that you have crafted your own path.

but on to the matters at hand... by dawn's light our troops will arrive. our generals estimate we that we can muster five thousand to this cause. another five hundred, composed of our wizards and technical advisors, will come to aid you as well.

i suggest that you assemble your war council and consult with the wizards when they arrive. they are the equivalent of what your people call "heavy artillery" for my people. also they can help you reinforce your barracades and walls with our magic as well.

my team and i would also like to start our work on your chamber, we have heard that in the time that has passed since we helped your people build it there have been some changes. we need to refamiliarize ourselves with it, if we are to be of any help when your husband comes to.

*the four other beings rematerialize*

but is there some place where we can place the king for now? i don't think it would be good for morale for people to see his majesty like this, nor very good for security either.

*Looks around suddenly finding himself in the courtyard.*

*walks over to an end table in the throne room and writes down something on a spare piece of parchment, and proceeds to hand the writing over to the four beings*

Here are the directions to the bedchamber and precise steps to activate the barrier should you have to leave him there alone. Please note that you will not be able to enter again if you leave the room after the barrier has been turned on.

*glances at the King for a moment, gives a little sigh, and turns to the beings with a faint smile* I would stay by his side to watch over him, but alas, questions that need to be answered will be asked by the rest of the court, and there are still a myriad of things to be done. Do be careful with him, please, and once again, thank you very much for all your help. *bows in gratitude*

*watches as everyone leave the throne room*

*he sits down and takes a comforateble position. he then puts his hand near his chest, where his heart should be and closes his eyes. slowly, a blue orb forms in his hand. after awhile, the orb forms into a 2-inch chibi replica of FM. It then sits down and observes the surroundings*

*makes a gesture and four more beings teleport into the throne room. these four seem to be larger and more muscular, one can see from the look in their eyes they have see much battle. alarin turns to all eight beings.*

take the king to the royal chambers. you four are to guard him, and you four are to meet me in the chamber. i don't think i need to remind you what is at stake here.... let's get to work.

*turns to the queen*

Xith's body doesn't flinch, but his demon and human souls pop out on the other side of his head in chibi form. they then snap back into his head like rubber bands. chibi FM does the infamous pulled eyelid-stick out tongue combo*

Seriously though, I'm... sort of practicing, just in case our up-coming battle goes awry and we end up on the barrel-end of their guns... *chibi FM sits back down again. he then puts up a sign with a similar tranparent-blue glow, reading*

*A little preoccupied with her own thoughts, mei wanders into the courtyard just as Xithion leaves. She notices Falling Man practicing a strange sort of magic. Enjoying the temporary lull in activitiy, she and Kyor plop under the shade of a persimmon tree to meditate.*

*Walks back into the courtyard and notices Mei Meditating. Walks over to her and says quietly.*

Hey, have you recovered from yesterday?

I would like you try purify me again. I do believe you did succeed last time, well as much as you can in my case.

I’m feeling different. The chances of me actually changing back are very, very slim but I’m going to try everything. Besides I never realized I still might have a choice. I may not become human. I may become something else all-together. Oh well… So are you up to it? Or would you like a little umm…charge?

*The orb hits him unexpectedly and he shuts his eyes in response to the expected pain. But it isn’t as strong as he expected. He opens his eyes slowly to check. The magic is swirling around him this time, and absorbing much quicker.*

Hmm…very nice Mei.

*Within a few minutes it's all absorbed.*

Well, I can still feel the demon. But I don’t want to get rid of it. I’m going to need it down the road. Especially since my human half is much weaker.

Wear it and it will boost your magic. The boost all depends on it’s user. I never used it because I love a good fight. Considering the amount of healing you will be doing…..you could really use it. I didn’t give you it before because the boost would have killed me. But if your using it to heal humans it’s not dangerous.

*accepts the crystal bracelet from Xithion*

And I wouldn't have used it on you, anway, since I'll need to adapt to whatever changes it will bring. It would have been too dangerous if I simply tapped into the crystal for power.
