*puts away the headset and begins towards his chambers*

Aah, Hitokiri-sama! Wait!

*presents an easter egg painted in pastel colors to resemble a persimmon*

*heads for the soft light at a slow but steady pace*

Hmm, it feels like I have been walking in this place for hours. Feel like some sort of tunnel, but is it? I wonder how everyone else is doing. No harm has befallen them, I hope.

*pauses suddenly and tilts her head towards a curious sound*

*As mei and Kyor approach the castle gates, they exchange worried looks. The soldiers in stiff military stance, armed and alert as if for battle but with a tinge of fear in their eyes...these things do not bode well. When they move to enter, the guards cross their spears, forbidding entry.*

Soldier 1: By decree of the King, the castle is under lockdown. You may not enter!

mei: You are speaking to the Royal Healer. Surely, you can let her pass...

Soldier 2: We may let no one pass, lady. The king's order was clear.

Soldier 1: We dare not disobely the king...*he shivers*

mei: Well, could you at least tell her the reason for these measures?

Soldier 2: We're not quite sure ourselves, but last we heard, there are demons sighted within.

mei *shocked*: If demons have indeed infiltrated the castle, then mei's abilities will be needed. You must let her through.

Soldier 1: That we cannot do, lady. The orders--

mei: Yes, mei understands. Your diligence is commendable. Good day, sirs, and take care.

*mei, once out of the guards' sight, takes a sharp turn and doubles back to the castle walls. Kyor looks at her questioningly.*

Well, a couple of guards aren't going to stop mei, you know.

*With a firm grip on her staff, mei holds it directly before her, just inches from the stone wall. A veil of light falls over her and Kyor, and when the magic has sealed, they step through the wall and into the castle, no more substantial than air itself.*

You wanna die too? *kills them in an efficent manner. notices a stray that got too close to the shop. he uses his sword's long-range beam technique to smear it*

*Looks at Shardy in shock* Really you don't remember anything?

*Shivers run down his spine. Without warning a large spear-like vine shoots at them. He pushes shardy to the side but could not escape himself. Impaled to the ceiling blood begins to drip from his shoulder and wing.*

Why you son-of-a-*begins to mumble all sorts swears and threats that would make a nun cry*

*Cuts the vine and falls to the floor on his knee* I really am getting bored with this......Whatever is causing this crap better hope I'm not the one to find it!

*Once within the castle, mei releases the spell. Kyor shakes from head to tail, shrugging off the residual magic.*

Didn't really want to do that, but there's no help for it now. Let's just hope no one saw us.

*Kyor lets loose a shrill cry. mei insinctively turns, swinging her staff in a wide arc with one arm and summoning a white fireball with the other. As the demon hesitates its advance, still recovering from the blow to its head, mei launches the flaming orb.*

Well, that's one less to worry about.

*Kyor pauses to sniff at the gray pile of dust before hurrying after the healer.*

*finally readhing his chambers, after a few more encounters, falling man's message appears on the door as the king is opening it*

hmmm... well we kinda do need the help.... fine.....

*snaps his fingers. a bolt of lightning strikes down a demon that was advancing on falling man. there is nothing left but a charred corpse with a katana sticking out of its back; attached to the sword is a wax sealed letter bearing the king's personal signet.*

take this weapon and defend the town. furthermore, i do hereby grant you the right to form a militia... though they must volunteer, no conscripts.

defense only... if the demons aren't activelly engaging in combat; don't attack, just observe. i want these things kept alive if possible until we can figure out their intentions, and more importantly who is their leader. any non-military personel you see are to be led to safety, above all else.

the persimmon king

*sees the katana and reads the message. he then sheaths his giant sword on his back and takes the katana*

Hmm... defending the town is not a one-man job... *goes in the shop to get his sister, then walks out with her in tow*

Chiarys: Are you sure about this, boss?

I'm dead sure. Besides, this won't be your first run...

Chiarys: I... have...? How do you know...

In a nutshell, you have amnesia. Now take this sword. It's one of your favs. *hands her a long katana with an unusually large blade* Put these on. *hands her a pair of hover shoes. she puts them on and activates them with ease* Head into town. I'll be providing air support for you. Call me up on this if you need me. And be sure not to attack them first. Take them out only if they make an offensive move of any kind. Also, any townsfolk you see must be escorted or moved to a safer area. *hands her a light-blue multi-purpose laptop, like his. he then flies off*

(As Chiarys skates into the town, she wonders how her boss knows so much about her)

*Standa up after and looks at his wounds and the dark red liquid that is his blood. Takes his blood and marks his fore-head with a 'X symbo'l then marks his weapon with the same symbol and says a few words. Both symbols begin to glow a crimson red.*

*growls*I'm getting impatient! Shardy, we need to get you somewhere safe. Jump on my back! *Spreads his wings and kneels down*

*enters his chambers and heads into a large closet, which stores most of his personal effects, in the back of the room. digs through much of the stuff to pull out a rather large trunk, though there aren't any seams in it. smiles.*

there you are... i haven't had to open this since my days at the university....

*as he touches the trunk an image of a 18 year old version of himself appears*

*chuckles. then touches the trunk where the lock would be on a normal one.*

*the image fades out and the trunk's lid portion evaporates. the king begins to dig through the trunk. various items are found and removed; an object labeled Ye Olde Beer Bong, a box bearing the words Royal Stash, a ski mask with the title Royal Panty Raider embroidered on it, etc... eventually a large tome bound in a silver dragon's hide is pulled out. for a moment he stares at it nostalgically.*

gramps' grimoire...

*puts in it down on his desk and starts to look through it. eventually he gets to a section that seems not to be written in words but just pages of intricate tribal-esque designs that cover the entire page. suddenly the designs start to shift and change into words from an language he has never seen before*

now that's ne......

*before he can finish his words the book grows to the same size as him, swallows him in a flash of light and reverts back to where it was on his desk.*

*looks around to find himself in a giant temple of some kind.*

judging from the architecture, this place is was made by people from the queendom over 4000 years ago...

*from the shadows a voice calls out*

SHADOWY FIGURE: 4287 years, 4 months, 13 days, 6 hours and 19 minutes to be exact......

*startled, the king pulls out his handgun and whips around*

SHADOWY FIGURE: put it away before i have to spank you... like the time you broke my telescope when you were four....

*a look of utter surprise appears on the king's face as he immediately puts the handgun away*

*the figure walks out of the shadows to reveal a smiling man that look pretty similar to the king, but the figure look as if he is only 20*

GRAMPS: its been a while kiddo...

*mie and Kyor run through the hall, wondering where everyone could be. Those she has met so far have only been hostile demons, and the two have managed to fend for themselves thus far. But the others...? Kyor suddenly halts, and lifts her snout and sniffs the air.*

What is it?

*Kyor bounds forward and rounds a corner, mei following close after. The clamor of battle grow louder, and there are voices as well. Angry voices. The narrow passageway opens to a wider hall. With one glance, mei takes in the bloodstains on the ceiling, the red pools on the floor, the mangled remains of a demon--and a wounded Xithion launching from the window, Shardy on his back.*

Wai--!

*A demon cuts her off, a nasty ridged sword already slicing her way. mei retreats a step, only to gain a better footing, fireball already in hand. The demon exploded in a gray puff, only to be replaced by another. Too quickly, it came. mei did not have time for another fireball--with this one, she'll have to use hand-to-hand combat.*

All the better *mei thought, lunging forward* It's been a while since she got any exercise.

*the light has now grown closer*

Ahh, I believe this should be the end of the tunnel . . .

*reaches the exit and freezes in surprise*

*a dry meadow sits before her eyes, a glowing river of rushing liquid is running through the dehydrated landscape*

*walks forward, dead blades of grass snap with each step; a gush of wind is felt as a dark shadow rushes by, and silence covers the area again*

*looks around* Who's there? Show yourself.

*Circles around the castle to get a getter view of things.* Hmm…where to set you off?

[Shardy: Didn’t I tell you your not leaving me again? *pulls out butter knife*]

[Shardy: *cuts of Xithion’s sentence* No, I’m going with you! *puts the butter knife to his wing*]

*as the duo wander around town, the demons were often just wandering around, as if they were waiting or seeking something. they few demons slain were weak, low-ranked demons. FM would of had chance, but Chiarys got to them first. a hour later...*

...That's rather unusual. I thought these demons would have torn the place to shreds now. They're just smashing old buildings with stray animals in them. *puts his hand to his ear, touching a headset* Chiarys, anything yet?

*over the speaker comes Chiarys*Not much, just two big ones so far...

Good. Radio me if you need help. (I guess she's getting back into the groove of things, but I wonder if she remembers anything...?) *sees a demons chasing some person* (time to test this baby out...) *he swoops down and cuts the demon. the demon looks at horror at his wound, then it slowly burns away into nothing*

Woman: You saved my life... ! Behind you!

*FM is already on it, as he begins fighting the larger demon. FM breaks the demon's weapon, then procedes to stab him and watch as he burns away. the woman pulls out a demon-made gun and straps it to her arm, then lets off an energy round. FM deflects the round back at her with his kodachi. the round mars her skin, revealing the demonic interior*

Didn't think I'd suspect you, wretch? *he throws the sword at her. she attempts to block it with her gun, but the blade flies through and lands in her abdomen, pinning her to the ground. she winces as her body burns away*

(this is a stupid move...) So, what's the point of this? Why attack now, when the King returns?

Demon: You think I'd tell you? *laughs* Only in Hell, my friend... *before Fm can ask more questions, she fades away*

*he looks at the katana and chuckles* (What crazy alchemy array or magic spell did he put on this sword...?)
*he grasps the handle of his long sword and returns to the skies*

I wonder if everyone else is having quite the party at the castle... Must be a damn nightmare...

*Waking up, he slwoly streches and sits up. A smile comes across his face as he looks over ot see his wife still sleeping. DM then slides out from underneath the covers and slips on a robe before heading out onto the airship's main deck. There he's greeted by one of the crew*

Crew member: Sir! I'm sorry to distrub you just after you've woken up, but it seems as if there's been some trouble at the Queendom. We believe that they may be under attack!

DM: *gives the man a startled look* Why didn't you wake me?!

Crew member: Well, to be honest, all of us crew members were afraid that you and your wife were.... *nervous laugh* well...you know...

DM: *Gets the hint* We weren't last night or this morning... But that is the least of my concerns right now. We must head back to the Queendom!

Crew member: We're already on our way back sir and we shoudl be there within a day or so.

DM: o.O;; A day?! We might not have that much time! Push the engines to their full capacity and get us there as quickly as possible!

Crew member: *nods slowly* Aye sir... *he runs off to the control room*

DM: Now to tell the princess of this.... *sighs a little* I don't knwo which is gonna be worse; facing the attackers, or facing my wife when I have to tell her that the honeymoon is going to be cut short...

(Now where was I before it all went terrible wrong? Ah, yes!)

*The fire slowly lower in a swirl revealing him. Hold out what appears to be the female version of his own armor.*

Armstrong, sir. I think it maybe possible that some of our own have been infested, replaced by or are demons of the invading force. I suggest you check over the troops for any inconsistancies and suspicious characters.

*the message pops up in a window on the wall within Armstrong's sight*

*FM decides to take a closer look at some of the demons. he lands on a high tower and takes a survey of the area*

(They all look like standard run-of-the-mill demons... no super-high level demons or devils... They all seem very primitive at that...)

*sensing something, FM pulls out his laptop and does a scan of the mid to upper levels of the atmospere. what he sees bring a concerned and shocked look on his face*

Shit... *puts his hand up to his ear* Chiarys!
Chiarys: Yeah, what's up?
How much of the town's folk have you evacuated?
Chiarys: I'm guessing about a third...
Focus more on that. Make it a priority if needed. If we don't hurry up, this place will flow with blood. All that you've been killing off now is nothing compared to what we're about to encounter. I'll join up with you later. Out.

*types up another message and sends it to DM's ship*

We've got quite the situation here. The invading forces have air support, though their support hasn't made any major moves yet. I'm expecting possibly five or six major enemy airships. They maybe large, high-level demons or some kind of demonic machinery. I'll send you more details later when I make visual contact.

*decides to help in evac-ing the townsfolk and heads to ground*

*FM tucks away his laptop as he goes for the last remaining civilians with his sister. suddenly, three giant U.F.O. objects fall from the sky and begin hovering over the town. they open their sides a bit and begin to spin rapidly, spreading a purple mist over the town. as the siblings reach the house, the demons begin to tear things apart*

A berserk powder, huh... Chiarys, take these two kids to the shelter. I have to deal with things here first...

*as Chiarys speeds off with the children, FM takes a note that the disc-objects are moving toward the castle*

(if that gets there, the already rampaging demons will become even more destructive...)

*FM flies on top of the nearest of the three. he takes the katana and plunges it into the disc. as with the other demons, it slowly burns away. FM flies toward the next one, but gets over taken by several large and fast demons*
